Now the legal profession is under the spotlight. Three women who alleged “predatory” behaviour by a leading KC have spoken out for the first time.
In a review commissioned by the Bar Council - and obtained by this programme - senior Labour peer Baroness Harriet Harman sets out the scale of sexual misconduct at the Bar and calls for wholesale reform.

the right-wingers must be really angsting about whether to be racist or sexist on this one
Why not both? 😂 There's no limits to the irrationality of hate.
The left-wingers must be really angsting about people rejecting their ideology and losing elections all the time.
Not just the Bar it happens in every profession
I can never quite comprehend why these women choose to go into hotel rooms alone with a man and there is a bed there. The same story with Harvey Weinstein where women say they went into hotel rooms to discuss work opportunities. I can understand if it was a teenager or some one with mental health issues. But these women were working in a highly competitive male dominated environment- be it the Bar or Hollywood. They are very intelligent young women. Could they be so naive as to not know that when your boss invites you to the hotel room to discuss work you make up an excuse and politely decline. As a womam myself I am acutely aware of my vulnerabilry the moment I step out of my home. So I proactively take steps to mitigate any risks. It's like putting your hand in a lion's mouth and then expecting him not to bite.
There is an element of truth in what you are saying. Its almost these women are now jumping on a bandwagon. If they are smart enough to study law and get so far. They should be smart enough to know about individuals like Sidhu. I would assume their reputation would have been known from the get go.
The fact that the 3rd women said people were annoyed and resented her for bringing it to them explains it all. No one wants to be involved and wants to just pretend nothing is happening, for the women to be silent as long as it doesn’t affect their peace. Perfectly describes working environment when something happens, the person needed help is usually overlooked.
The Bar profession and judicial system with judges is sickening
So many institutions in the UK and Ireland still awaiting their me-too moment.
I ended up on the bed 🤣. Yeah that’s the me too movement
Me-too is a movement designed by the CIA and the BLOB to split men and women. It’s designed to drive a wedge between family units, we need a better alternative
Like?
these are the worst of ♀ without care about what ♂need
this is nasty disgraceful & an utter disgrace . I hope people serious actions are taken .
So many women all over different sectors have these experiences.
It's been part of the male culture here in the UK for a very long time, until we accept that fact, we won't stop it.
"But not all men!". No, not all men, but pretty much always a man.
In an institution where you should feel protected. Without words, it hurts to be a Woman😢
Yet another one in "power" taking advantage of his position. What a losers.
This is happening in a civilised democracy where we are so proud of our human rights.
😂😂😂 what human rights are you talking about ?

I worked at a reputable international bank. The manager who was originally from one of the top Indian I.T. companies and had been head-hunted by the bank, literally had a harem operating for all Indian women that joined his team from his former employers in India. If they did not comply, he would have them removed. Sexual misconduct in the workplace is in 2025 still rampant, and as work becomes scarcer, in the professional realm, victims are more prone to putting up and shutting up, than making a case, which is often then not corroborated by others, that have been mistreated.
Oooooooooo racist!!
This is sick, and so is some of the victim blaming in the comments. I would put you lot defending an older man locking a young woman in a room on a watch list, as I bet you would SA if you had a chance...
He’s brown so should we blame his religion? Wait but he’s not Muslim so can we blame his religion? Or shall we just blame his ethnicity - a little confused
Would have been easier if he was white then we could just say he has mental issues but he was a good family guy loved by the community
It’s shocking the trolling that is appearing here in the comments, but then it isn’t, just sickening.
Commiserations. With the benefit of hindsight, I sincerely hope that lessons will be learned this time and anti harassment law procedures will be reviewed throughly and vigorously to ensure that this doesn’t occur again at the BAR. Resolve and meaningful dialogue not the usual lip service given by opportunistic career politicians or useless Mayors
Why do women go to theur bosses hotel room... Im so baffled, she felt under pressure to touch his private parts really? Seems like her pressure was hey i want a job and he can get me one. Thats what it seems like to me
This is common in most female will experience this in law
The old indian beliefs that the "untouchable caste" should never be elevated looks like it has a point ie "Sidu" caste😂
I ended up on the bed 🤣. That’s the me too movement
"At some point there was undressing"
Is it possible this is her saying she took her clothes off.
@@imnottellingyoumyname3050exactly my point it’s all load of rubbizzz

You don’t understand how SA works do you

My first thought, exactly!!! Also, she says "he could destroy your career", yet she remains anonymous while slandering him😆
“I went to his hotel room” is something you should never say because it’s something you should never do. Women need a course on how to avoid these exploitative situations and other women higher in the career ladder need to bring new women up with them free of these traps.
Loving the victim hood aren't you

It's not that easy when you're away in a hotel for work, and you have to continue to work on something - when you have a forceful senior manager. A better place to continue this work might be a cafe/restaurant area in the hotel, and I'd hope any conscientious senior person would suggest working there and not inside personal hotel rooms. I'm so glad more focus is on this subject so it becomes easier to push back strongly against these types of behaviours.

it happens in other industries too and its a open secret!
Seems to me this man was rocking the boat and the establishment didnt like it and so hes been hit with these allegations.
Sorry you just said NO out loud!!!
What is the point of having law degrees when you cannot sue for sexual harassment? Why bother complain to the media
Ive had issues with Cathy Newmans work in the past but recently her coverage of sexual predation power and abuse, particularly John Smythe and rhe Cof E has shone light on some.pretty dark areas with just the right touch amd weight .
Impunity is through the establishments
replying to a message about twerking and her world comes crashing down .
Why did this w9man say the word twerking? Why did the other end up in the hotel room
Listen again she was working on a case with him.
Young women are easily compromised by a boss.
The women didn’t do anything wrong, the man did why not condemn him instead of excusing him ?
Do you do this to young women ?
@@Lucy-jz7sg again why go to a hotel working on a case she wasn't away in another city what U on about
She slept with a guy to furrther their career. Yes not good, but it was their choice. Now they want some attention. Buyers regret, I am afraid.
The other sent sexual pics, and that was her stupidity.
A friend of mine was asked to go dinner with her boss and she said no. But these girls wanted a job so they went along
They just can’t help themselves
Shame
Hwo do u groom an adult. She wud have been 22 whats the grooming heere
Are you mad ? Did you read about weinstein and Al fayed .
Its about power not when your birthday is
Definitely not you😂
A man being creepy towards women isn't necessarily a misogynist. He is inconsiderate, ammoral, and disrepectful but he may not be motivated out of contempt or hatred for women.
He’s another Harvey Weinstein!!!
modi friend???
It is so easy nowadays to throw around terms like misogyny, toxic masculinity, incels, andrew tate.
To me it sounds more like he didnt deliver on the promises he made.
A female in her 20s/30s, grown up in UK will be fairly mature in her thinking, would know well about the reputation of the man they are working for, or exchanging numbers with.
I wish I can trust what comes out of this channel. If this guy goes replace him with ?
How did she endup in his bed.
Son sus costumbres y hay que respetarlas.
Hey Cathy Newman, you think I forgot what you did on Jan 16, 2018 (7+ years ago) in your interview? No. I’m holding you accountable. You are the shame of Channel 4. Admit your mistake and resign!
What did she do?
@@thomashume6497 Tried to put words in her interviewee’s mouth by deliberately misparaphrasing him and posing the mischaracterizations as confirmatory questions. Cathy Newman is a bad journalist who has no intelligence or ethics! Cathy Newman: Shame on you!
Ok this was the infamous interview with Jordon Peterson right? To be fair it’s not just her, whilst I agree with you. There are so many Amoral top journalists out there. It’s a prerequisite for the job, no? About 80% of them are just terrible human beings.
She also made up lies about how she was treated visiting a mosque but it was all on cctv so it was clear she was a liar.
@MichaelHo429I agree she is a known liar went to Streatham mosque was perfect she had a convo and left. She said "I was pushed out by men" they released CCTV and it proved she lied
The usual suspects again
They are all grown up adults - use common sense and don't put yourself in positions where your dignity could be compromised .
Absolutely agree. All adults.
When coercion is used, only the perpetrator is responsible. Not the victim.
If only it was so simple, did you say that about Epstein’s victims ?
Young women are more easy to compromise, especially by a boss.
When I was in law school
At Bar dining sessions, it was a common sight to see young graduates throwing themselves at graying, senior members at bar. All in the name of getting pupillage . The practice among us was to look away
Young wmn took advantage of an older established man
These stories are boring
😮
No comments yet? That's suspicious 🤔
Wokey cokey faminists
