    Knowing that love is just a bunch of chemicals doesn't diminish the mystery or the romance, because the romance is in the actual conscious experience of love, which is like explaining what a sunset looks like or what the wind on your face feels like. We can explain those things scientifically too, but that doesn't take away from their power.

      I object that quote ,true love exists if both partners are willing to build together their life with care ,understanding each other etc.. As well as holding the responsibility and take the bitter with the sweet.

    Simple you want to know what LOVE is?
    “We love God because he first loved us” (1 John 4:19). God is the first cause of all that is good and right in the world. Wherever and whenever love exists on earth, it only exists because it is a reflection of God's perfect love that created us and sustains us. The Bible also teaches that “God is love ❤️
    The Bible has a lot to say about the bonds of love and devotion. ... 1 Corinthians 13:4-5:
    “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs."
    That’s love ❤️

  • @TheMagodana

    Love is not quantifiable by science., so as lust, As a result, the two are confused. Especially modest lust vs obvious extreem lust which are driven by a series of chemical bonds and interactions. It's sad that most often, people fall in lust to each other and think they are in love with each other, when things go wrong, they are inclined to try address the non existing problem. . . With that said, Love is far beyond the physical bonds and has more to do with a consistant /permanent choice to put the other person first instead on oneself.

  • @thog8090
    @thog8090 7 років тому +19

    Interesting lecture, but I do have some doubts. For one, I got the hunch that a polygamist society will be far more volatile; reason being, young men with lots of testosterone who want to find a female. It could be a bit unstable so to speak. Nor do I completely know how it would be for the kid. Having said that, the "natural" thing, if you can use such a term, is that a child is taken care of by society. By that I mean not the state, but the extended family like uncles grandparents and further. In current society where moving is an easy thing, you don't have the option.
    This is just brainstorming by me, and not fixed ideas.

    As we are not animals, it is our choice to stay and work at a relationship. And that is an everyday thing. Love is a choice.

      Yes, and she forgets humans have cultures, and cultures mold reality and ways of seeing and being in the world.

    • @jasonnadal9721
      @jasonnadal9721 6 років тому +3

      We are animals though. Duh.

    • @PatrickSteil
      @PatrickSteil 5 років тому +3

      Agree! Love is a choice. We have much more advanced brains that any other animal species - one that can make rational (or irrational) choices. I believe strongly that the problem is more that people mix up love and attraction. I am married for almost 3 decades. I have occasional attractions to other people, but I choose every day to love and cherish my wife and the life we have built. The day I choose to spend time with someone I am attracted to I choose to love someone else and it all falls apart.
      To try and argue that humans would be better off practicing polygamy is ridiculous. Look at how deeply it hurts when one of our deep relationships is broken. Imagine a society filled with that. Science can't be used to tell us what to do. It explains how stuff works, not why or what to do about it.

    this kind of concludes that we are material beings, witch we are not and will never be. We are spirits and inhabit this dimension. We are the one being on Earth who can change everything about our minds, control how we precede the world, control our fears, become spirits of love, yes my friend you can create the future.

    Love has several elements but they must be discharged all at once. “A grilled cheese sandwich is a dish that requires at least two elements, bread and cheese. Without either element, we cannot make the dish. Likewise, if your action did not include all the elements of love, then you did not love properly.” The book, Thumos Adulthood Love Collaboration, by Mark Canny and Nickantony Quach, gives us “a direct, practical, and cogent answer to the following questions without resorting to gimmickry: what is love? What is it made of; how does it work; is there an expected outcome; how do we discharge the power of love; who does or does not love me; who do I love?” More at Ri4C Book 701, or #thumosbook

    Polygamy is rare up until farming happened and for some reason these systems totally collapsed later into monogamy, cheating is common but polygamy is practically non existent even in cultures that don't have a taboo against it. Also the bottom ranking incas probably had 0 women or 1 woman between multiple men although what probably happened was a lot of the concubines cheated with the lower status men but that is conjecture.

    As Incredibly Accurate As All Of This Is What I've found is that this its important to understand that this Is still an incomplete picture. The assertions made here are made entirely based on a left brained biological perspective and the entire truth is so much more. Love is a spiritual thing. It is the unconditional acceptance even with the presence of flaw, It's perfect harmony. it's the highest vibrating thought form and perspective in the universe. It is what brings about the order of all things. That's why we inherited it from our father God. We humans are gods in the making and the difficulties we find with it are due to the in completion of our evolution. Part of what makes us gods is our ability to choose. We are just opting to make a lot of wrong choices the main ones being that we choose to love selectively, we limit people's right to choose and think freely and be themselves, we choose our ego and our sense of self over love for all things,we choose to look for love in people who are ill suited for us, and ironically enough we have difficulty with loving the people we claim to because we have difficulty in loving our incredibly imperfect selves. I think when all of that is taken into account I realize that the battle to be won that will ultimately lead to our progression as a race is an internal one. A mental spiritual emotional physical one that all boils down to choice. We have to choose love.

    sorry I disagree, just cause you find some gene in those two similar species who mates differently doesn't mean it(gene) are related to mating. Anyone who has a scientific background could judge this. It is extremely hard to tell what gene is responsible for what. It's just like an excuse to justify such behaviours.

    To put my two cents in, I'd say to each their own. If you want to be monogamous, go ahead, as long as you are in agreement with your partner about it. But today's society is super controlling and pushes monogamy onto everyone, regardless. It's legally NOT possible to be married to two people at the same time at the moment, and THAT needs to change.
