I wish it were that easy. I have a Ryobi S430 RY34441. I went onto Amazon looking for a cheap replacement and every other one says it will fit - but doesn't provide photo's from each side. I got one and found the throttle cable connection on many do not fit my model. Instead they have a metal nut with a groove a throttle end would fit into - if it were actually for my model. I tried to adapt, but the nut isn't in the right position and extends the cable too far. The ones I saw that seemed to actually be for my model appeared to be rebuilt, and were more like $50 and up, and were just the carb - no lines, gaskets, etc.. came with it. My unit is only about 5 yrs old but finding the exact part with extra's seems to be an adventure. My unit was running. I use it quite often, it never sits for more than 2 weeks, if that. I'd been using it last weekend and after adding some gas, and oil (not in the gas) it started and ran, but when you'd give it some throttle it would bog down and die. I figured something is getting clogged. After giving up on replacing the carb I decided to just clean it and the gas lines real well. I got REALLY confused though when I took the gas tank off and looked inside - there is a black tube with a filter on the end - but it isn't hooked to anything. It's just lying inside the tank. There isn't an open hole in the tank. There is only the vent in the cap. Could this tube have connected to that vent at some point? If so, it had to have come off before ever being gassed up the first time, because it was never connected to the cap vent. Aside from that, I have no idea what its supposed to connect to - maybe one of the other gas lines? No idea. That's what I'm on here to hopefully figure out. I hope I can figure something out because I am REALLY depending on this unit to be working this weekend. I'm laying a pallet of sod and need it to till the soil / pull the weeds before laying the sod. Without it, that hoe is going to do a number on my hands :0( Wish me luck. I need it. @Jerry3669-l6j Hi Jerry, from your description, it sounds like it might want more fuel. Go to the 12:55 mark on this video for tuning. Also, if you used the plug in the kit, replace it with a Champion RJY6C (99% sure that's the one). The kit plugs are not reliable at all. I usually add a new plug to everything when I am working on it. Let me know how it goes, I have other suggestions, but I am pretty sure you can fine tune it into shape.
@Jerry3669-l6j Gotcha, that one has the rotary carb. Those are usually good to go right out of the box. Was the fuel filter in the kit the same as the one that it had when you started? Your description keeps making me think it's leaning out until it stalls, and that's a fuel problem, and it could be a filter not letting enough fuel in. We can't rule out a bad carb, not pumping enough gas.
@@GuysPlayingWithTools I remove the filter and it didn't make any difference. In fact it now stalls before it gets to idle mode and has to be choked to restart. Think I got a bad carburetor?

It sounds like it's flooding based on it not trying again until the next day.
