I just bought a 2014 xts-v two day ago and I love it. Yes the steering feels “ artificial” but it’s great. It’s very sensitive and during fast highway play handles very well. When I was driving it home which was 213 miles I got 28.3 mpg. The ride on this car is amazing and feels like my old fleetwood Bhrougm D’Elegance
@@Nightbird. ive only put about 15k on it since buying. No issues. Im the 2nd owner. The 3.6 and 6spd are common across GM so their solid units. Most complaints are concerning CUE. Mine has performed excellent. Looked for 3 months. Some seem to be repaired alot in general. Just check 10-20 carfax reports showing dealer work.
@@michaelbyrd5573 Glad to hear your model is treating you well. I believe this model comes with both the Cadillac Awareness and Assistance safety packages? I'd love to know if you feel the Automatic Emergency Braking really works and is worth paying the extra money for models that have it? It's the one key safety feature I really need where I live because drivers here drive like monkeys.
This thing is about $72k loaded to the gills, while an A8 is about $3k more for the base model and the next closest car the AWD XJ is about $5k more. I guess the only problem then is steering feel and lack of sportiness, but if you just want a cruiser I don't know how anyone of sound mind could not take a look at one of these.
I did the exact same thing by comparing the XTS Vsport Platinum versus the base V6 models of the 7 series, XJ, and A8 thru Autos MSN. Gotta say that the XTS is a gorgeous car and would easily take it over these base premium full-size sedans with V6s.
Wow several years ago Cadillac barely registered on my radar for it's "grandpa" moniker. Now seems Cadillac is serious about making relevant cars that are quite competitive and good looking and the interior looks light years better than "grandpa's" Caddy.
As a German, I must say that the Cadillac XTS is much more better than the Mercedes E-Class in terms of interior and exterior. Also the XTS has a nicer interior then the BMW 5 Series in terms of the interior because the materials are more luxury then both of those cars and also the XTS has many safety features and the seats are more comfortable. I sat in all those cars. Sorry for my bad English. I'm German?
thank u for you honest veiws. i own one and it just blows my mind how people that do know cars or have a baised opinion with these cars. you look at the CTV it beat the E63 S in every segment and the ATV beat the C63S and blow the doors off with 15 to 24,000 cheaper. this car is awesome and i am soooooo proud to now be a owner of one!!! MC Hammer (cant touch this)
@@warrengibson3317 I currently drive a MB S Class..but am thinking of purchasing this exact model for the extra HP..but I have heard the ride is too harsh and the interior quality of materials is not very good..which many American cars have a reputation for. Can't find one locally to test drive so trying to get feedback from actual owners. Thanks!
I'm German and I think Cadillac has a way better interior and looks better from outside than any compareable German car like BMW, Mercedes or Audi. You just get a way better car for your Money with more power and way more features. Even in performance Cadillac is the king with the CTS-V.
*Can any long-term owners of this vehicle please tell me how reliable it has been or what problems you have faced with it? And is the ride uncomfortable over bad roads as I have read? Thinking about purchasing this exact model. Thank you.*
of course, I had no issues except for replacing oxygen sensors. One thing I can warn you is if you go to hard with it or go over lots of bumps on the road you’ll get a “Service Suspension” error but it will correct itself
The difference between the XTS and CTS is in size and driving dynamics. The CTS is a midsize rear-wheel drive while the XTS is fullsize front-wheel drive. The XTS according to Cadillac is not considered a flagship until the LTS model comes out for sale in 14+ months. What is similar between the two cars are they are pretty much priced the same. The base CTS starts out at $46,000 while the base XTS starts out at $44,000-$45,000. Both top of the line models, CTS Vsport Premium and XTS Vsport Platinum can top at $72,000 while the XTS edge out the CTS Vsport Premium by a few hundred bucks. The CTS is midsize while the XTS is full size while the body sits between mid-to-full size on the outside but inside has full-size dimensions like the short wheel base premium flagships from Lexus, Audi, BMW and Jaguar. Hope the information was helpful.
@@Nightbird. It’s been sometime since we’ve sold it. But as long as we had it, there were no issues. Some interior trims did get replaced due to the heat here. But mechanically the car was perfect. As far as the ride was concerned, it was perfect. Just like how a luxury car should be.
@@TanmoyGhoshthegreat Thank you so much for that important feedback. I am looking for a 2014-18 model and I hope my experience with it will be as good as yours. @@Nightbird. I got a Volvo S90 T6 inscription as a replacement for my XTS V sport. I’d suggest that you also check out Volvo. Their cars do punch above their weight.
@@TanmoyGhoshthegreat I was thinking about the S90 due to their excellent safety features which are on par with my Mercedes Benz if not better. Once I get Covid vaccinated I plan on traveling to test drive one as none are available in my area. Best of luck to you with it and stay well.
Sorry I want my 6.2 V8 back ! We don't do V6 engines in Cadillac. As a matter of fact bring my fleetwood back my Granny and aunt's have all left Cadillac for Mercedes and Lexus big bodies. It was funny when Granny walked in and wrote the check for her Lexus LS460L the salesman mouth dropped.
Although I like this car it's not my favorite Caddy. The CTS is.I did go to the dealership one Sunday and saw the interior and it was sharp. Cadillac is not considering the XTS its flagship because rumors are they are coming out with even a larger high - end Caddy like the use to do with the Deville and Fleetwood. But not as fat as the last Fleetwood and Cadillac cousin the Buick Roadmaster.
you are right on point and this is the last year for this model but watch out for the new one it will blow your mind. just wanted to say you are soooo on point!!!
Very disappointed at cadillac quality lately. I bought a XTS and the paint sucks and sometimes the trunk does not open. I should have gone with mercedez benz or audi
V6 and you only get 16mpg on the street lmfao this is garbage for 72k What a rip off. People want good gas mileage, fuck all that other shit. I wonder if the oil companies have a contract with the auto makers to build cars with poor mpg. Its 2014 Hmmmmmm
The majority of people who buy luxury cars don't give a shit about gas mileage because if you can afford a luxury car you can afford to fill it up often. Go to the Toyota Prius videos for that.
I think the Escalade is their current flagship. XTS is a terrific luxury car. Look at cars from 20 years ago. This car is just mindbogglingly good.
