- Tocumen International Airport (Spanish: Aeropuerto Internacional de Tocumen) (IATA: PTY, ICAO: MPTO) is the international airport of Panama City, the capital of Panama. The airport serves as the homebase for Copa Airlines and is a regional hub to and from The Caribbean, South, North and Central America and additionally features routes to some European and Asian cities.

I'm heading out from SJO, Costa Rica, to PTY and from PTY to DEN intl! thank you for this! takes away some of the anxiety of traveling alone

This is the most convenient airport to transfer through, no need to go through any redundancy of immigration or security. You arrive straight into the terminal and find your next gate. The signage could do with some upgrades but as you see its very suitable and the transfer experience was faultless. It took some time to locate the COPA lounge, but that was also very nice with shower and free bar. I would strongly recommend transferring through here than in the US, as an example i flew to Barranquilla from Manchester via Amsterdam and Panama.

With the new addition it's the largest airport in Latinamerica.
