"It's not about her being the first African-American Bachelorette; its that she should be the Bachelorette" - Chris Harrison. He couldn't have said it better. She's such an amazing person.
Us black folks gotta make sure we support her season so that this isn't just a one time thing. We always cry for diversity, but rarely show up for it when we get It.
Diversity? You black Libs always whining about diversity but I guarantee you her show will be full of white men and a few token minorities. That's diversity in your world I guess.
KingCetshwayo I don't agree, they purposely announced Rachel as the Bachelorette early before she's even been shown as eliminated on the show because they are only two weeks away from filming and so more African American men will audition. Obviously the show doesn't receive enough auditions by other races and this is the reason for fewer minorities. If any minority group should be complaining it should be Asians, Hispanics, and the LGBT community they are way more underrepresented on this show than A.A.
jpowers55 Hopefully since Rachel will be the Bachelorette she will have a much more diverse group of suitors which could result with an African American runner up as becoming the next Bachelor.
tommy literature Please with all the black men chasin down white women ...you really saying this??? It is his loss ...did you watch the show? If not...then you don't need to comment here!
How is he racist for not picking her?? We can't pull the racist card for everything. Cmon now. The Bachelor always puts a black woman in the show so people won't complain that there aren't any blacks, but she always ends up getting voted off. It is what it is. The show chooses women based on the man's taste wether it be blondes, brunettes, blue eyes etc. The show throws in colour to throw people off, which isn't right, but definitely doesn't mean Nick is racist.
Not me. I think that I'd be happier if I were the Bachelor and got to date 25 women and fly all over the world to exotic locations and have a three month expenses paid vacation. Cheers!
1:29 stfu It does matter that she's the first BLACK bachelorette, not that she "should be". Raven or Kristina would've been great Bachelorette's as well but I bet they chose her to make Bachelorette history. I'm betting Rachel's season will bring in a lot of new viewers. Can't wait.
Candyce Michelle I'm pretty sure executives look at approval ratings so no not just to make history. What's the point of making history of rating go down. Don't be so daft
its just a color of skin don't make a big deal out of it we all bleed the same color and Chris Harrison is right Rachel is an amazing person and she deserves it no matter what color she is. (I'm not trying to hate)
Camellia M. Not at all. I meant that she's beautiful inside and out. She radiates kindness, power, intellect, brains, vulnerability, and excitement for life! She looks like she takes care of her health which should be important to everyone for longevity . Aside from that, in my humble opinion, here she's looking gorgeous!
Camellia M. Generally people are attracted to people who look like them so I can see how you define "pretty". I just wouldn't use the words "pretty" and "beautiful" as the same thing because they are not.
+Sonia Ventura You are very beautiful Sonia yourself. I agree 100% that the new Bachelorette Rachel is very beautiful too! She seems very sophisticated and intelligent, she is a great choice for the show.
I never watched this show but I will watch for her. I saw her on ellen and I think she is a genuine, smart and beautiful lady. You got my vote and I am sure it will break the record for the most watched.
Serah Dunphy if this was a black man looking for love from white women black women would hate the show but racist white men arnt gonna show it black men looking for love especially from White women
Your thumbnail looks like her too...only she didn't style her hair like that. Sure, everyone hopes she finds love. But maybe she found it in Nick... And I hope I find love too. Sure, you probably hope you find love as well. In fact, everyone probably hopes for that. Maybe that is the solution to the whole ISIS problem. They need to find LOVE! Like that song, "All we need is love!"....
I've been hoping that since I first started watching >.< I've always wondered if they asked the bachelor/ette what their preferences are or what kind of people they're more likely to be attracted to? I just wonder how we made it this long with out even having a white person that is really attracted to other races or ethnicites. Maybe other races aren't as likely to apply, I don't know. It just seems like they weren't even giving them (the show) the opportunity to have more diversity because they only ever had a few people who weren't white Lejon- I know you're probably just a troll but this woman is far from a "slut". She's actually one of the first I've seen that ladies can really look up to. In all fairness I've only watched a few seasons, and it's not even that the other girls were bad role models. She's an accomplished, beautiful, down to earth woman. I admire her.
A black bachelor would make sure to have tons of white and Latina and Asian women and that one mixed looking black woman and yet you expect black women to ignore all that and add men that wouldn't add them ????
I'm happy, I'm not a fan of the show but I'm glad it's not a white woman anymore. Wish Hollywood would stop being racist and have more black, Asian, Hindu etc actors
i mean asian movies reflect asia where there aren't many black or white people (generally) but the US is such a melting pot that it should reflect that diversity, even if the majority of a cast is white just having some actors of other races sometimes helps a large part of America feel represented
Yeah, it would be great if Hollywood would stop being anti-Christian and promoting gay and lesbians on TV and if the news would stop promoting leftist liberal propaganda and anti-Trump messages instead of helping Trump to make America great. And it would be great if Hollywood would only put shows on TV that promoted good Christian values and good morals as well. Instead of the filth that they put on TV.
LMfao far from an accomplishment. a black woman OWNING her OWN bachelor show would be an accomplishment. Some white person giving us something isn't an accomplishment.....its like how black men should own the NBa instead of play for it.....think bigger
My vote goes for some of the others... BUT I think that they should select someone who wasn't on the show. Someone new each time. These people already had their chance on TV to find love. And didn't. Next person's turn!
Be nice 😋....She's free to love whomever she wants I guess. You never know she might just end up choosing a brother on her season. I guess you won't be watching?
she reminds me of one of the southern bachelorettes we have had in the past. She is so graceful and I catch wait to watch her. The guys she has on her season are defiantly going to be open to interracial dating, which are basically seeds the bachelor is planting for their future
She is so great. I think it's important to acknowledge the significance of her being the first african american bachelorette, and I'm very excited for the diversity that is surely to come, but no matter what color, ethnicity, or race she is, she's truly a great woman and I'm actually sad to find out that Nick didn't pick her. Although, to be honest, she's much better than Nick and he would've been completely lucky to have her love him back. The fact that Corinne is still here while many other great women went home before her, speaks volumes on his part. But seriously, Rachel is poised, confident, and charismatic, who wouldn't be head over heels for her?
After all this time a black Bachelorette? Maybe the show is on it's last leg? Doesn't surprise me. What would surprise me is if a black man and black woman get together in a positive light.
Racist much? This show actually has the best viewership it has ever had, and it's been around for 20 years. Luckily, most people are racist, bitter morons like you.
Lejon Leonard Black women have been the gate keeper for the system. They get every benefit there is because of it. Jobs, food, homes, medical, child support, you name it and then turn around and talk shit to black men. But when a white guy shows up they live "happily ever after". It's disgusting.
She's so smart and beautiful! She's way too good for Nick. I'm one hundred thousand percent sure he and Vanessa won't last! She's so dry and boring and he doesn't know what he wants.
Everyone's asking why mention her race and bummed about the spoiler alert. I think they had to tell early because it's historic for the show, and they didn't want it to be a shock factor that could've possibly went wrong. Yes it's disappointing she didn't win, but it leaves her fans knowing it's much more of her to come! LetsSupportchange!!
It's so sad the way this is worded, it makes it seem like she has to defend her skin color. They need to make it seem more like we are celebrating this time, A LONG TIME COMING, for something so simple as the Bachelorette. Girl, don't defend yourself you are classy, smart, and beautiful. They are lucky to have such a woman on the show and we will support you!!!!!
Wow, I'm surprised and kinda glad she hasn't done anything to her gap. I think that's why initially I was a bit thrown off by her appearance. Most people in the limelight are quick to go to the dentist and get it fixed, but she rocks it! Of course, her lovely personality helps as well.
I love her message regarding being the first. Yes, she is the first black woman to be a bachelorette, but that's not going to change the show. It's just another bachelorette season. I hope the people love/hate her season because of the show and not because of her skin color.
I'm so happy for her! I haven't been this excited for a season since Trista and Ryan. Rachel is too intelligent for Nick anyway, they need to find some quality men.
Well said, Chris Harrison! A show that many people would dismiss as false and ridiculous obviously has its set-up scenarios but it has proven to be an actual viable way for people to find each other and fall in love!!! Soooooo-:))))
I don't understand why it took the show this long to actually have a bachelor/bachelorette of color. The producers have only shot themselves in the foot for isolating the black community for waiting this long.
the way she mentions she just trying to find love, and the first black Bachelorrette in History of the show, and her sister is married to a white guy. And the way they keep mention interracial relationship with white men, it's already a done deal.

Lejon Leonard ...dumb ass, go and take it up with all those black men who think it's an accomplishment to fuck a different sister every time the wind blows.
+Truth is present 100% stop right there!....dumbass????lol...ur head is in my ass now.wow.what a bitch.no wonder u in here complaining about dead Dallas cops
Aww I just realized that they both have gaps. I used to have a big gap in my teeth too, so I know that when you have a gap and you meet someone else with a gap, it's kind of a big deal. I'm so happy she found love with Brian. I hope they decide to get married on TV. I want to see their special day, since I won't actually be there!
WTF!! I was going to Binge Watch this season this weekend...knowing Rachel was looking like a Front Runner. What the Hell is the RUSH with announcing this! I guess there must have been a Huge Spoiler, Leak or did Nick Quit?
Lindsay will give us what we all wanted that Nick did not-ROMANCE! And even though he keeps saying he is ready to "fall in love", he is not. He pushed away all of the women who broke him emotionally and welcomed the women who pushed him physically as he does not know how else to evolve in a relationship. Does this make him a bad person? NO! It is something that most of us learn about.
my God get a life this beautiful classy young lady likes dating lady likes dating white men if that is what she wants and what she is attracted to there is nothing wrong with that if bitter black men don't like it who cares don't watch the show
While I watched the Bachelorette and Bachelor for years as a Black woman, I feel that since a Black woman will be the first Bachelorette on the show, she should have Black men as her choices. If you have followed past shows, all the choices were Caucasians. The Bachelors would for the most part be white and the participants were white. There were a hand full of non-whites on the show but for the most part, all of the Caucasian Bachelor or Bachelorettes choices were other Caucasians. Why should the first Black bachelorette choose a white man when others before her chose their own race? If there is a show on Interracial dating, then I feel like that this would be all right but the first Black woman should choose a Black man as the people before chose their own race. Look up the show for yourself and see how many Caucasians chose other who are the same.
Cherie Shermana oh please! Get over yourself and stop forcing black men on black women. Obviously she is open to interracial dating so why should the bachelors all be black men? All black women do not prefer black men.
Cherie Shermana lmao. do you really think black males would be choosing black women on shows like the bachelor if they had a chance? why must the black woman ALWAYS be the one to choose black everytime when black males never do the same??
"It's not about her being the first African-American Bachelorette; its that she should be the Bachelorette" - Chris Harrison. He couldn't have said it better. She's such an amazing person.
Wonder if Michelle Obama insisted...
Marcus McDonald So... he's implying that there were no qualified women of color that applied previously that "should" have been the Bachelorette???
Tuesdays Runner is it because she looks like Malia Obama her daughter?
Thank god he is gone
Us black folks gotta make sure we support her season so that this isn't just a one time thing. We always cry for diversity, but rarely show up for it when we get It.
So true!

I loved her from the start! She's so cute omg! So sweet, humble, down to earth, and so freaking smart! Ugh now I can't wait to have a black bachelor.
Kc Mahc A black bachelor? 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂Keep waiting.
jpowers55 Hopefully since Rachel will be the Bachelorette she will have a much more diverse group of suitors which could result with an African American runner up as becoming the next Bachelor.
guarantee he won't her color black if they have one. He will look like Derek jeter, or vin disel shade of brown.
tommy literature
what's wrong with that??
There goes the black man, always trying to go in competition with black women. BLACK MEN STAY IN DAMN LANE!
Rachel deserves WAYYYYYYY better than Nick. Yippeee!!
I agree!!! He´s pretty messed up!!
I like her energy. I'm gonna watch
shes so graceful and I feel like I want to be her friend! I think that likeability is so key with the bachelorette star and they made a perfect choice
Great Pick... Classy and Beautiful... Nick's Loss...but so Happy for her.
Nick's loss? Black women really love and believe in this shyt.
tommy literature Please with all the black men chasin down white women ...you really saying this??? It is his loss ...did you watch the show? If not...then you don't need to comment here!

About time!! She is GORGEOUS 🌹💋
Yay for her! I like that she's smart and sweet!
THAT EYESHADOW THOUGH, GIRL LOOKS GOOD
Nick was probably wondering what she looked like in the morning without her eyeshadow and straightened hair? Maybe...
Tuesdays Runner nope
Nobody is here for your implicitly racist comments. I was complimenting her makeup, which is banging in this video. Go troll someone else's comment

Thought she was ugly at first but seeing her in interviews she's actually very attractive
Jimmy Marlin sameeee
Jimmy Marlin ....you would think she is ugly. if it ain't white it ain't right. You should asked if we think you are attractive.....hmmmm
Jimmy...I'm sure a lot of ppl think you are ugly too
I hope they have a good number of Black men as contestants
avilik13
why???
Naomiluvsice What do you mean why? Because she's black herself.
I've been hoping that since I first started watching >.<
I've always wondered if they asked the bachelor/ette what their preferences are or what kind of people they're more likely to be attracted to? +Howard Sutton Weren't you just on another post obsessing over white women ?
A black bachelor would make sure to have tons of white and Latina and Asian women and that one mixed looking black woman and yet you expect black women to ignore all that and add men that wouldn't add them ????
she's stunning! and her personality is incredible. i thought she was too good for the bachelor franchise but maybe it's just what it needed :)
I'm happy, I'm not a fan of the show but I'm glad it's not a white woman anymore. Wish Hollywood would stop being racist and have more black, Asian, Hindu etc actors
Danae Delange Hinduism is not a race. It's a religion...

Chris Rock said it one time Its all right when its white.

what a time to be alive! A black women on the bachelor? WOW, what an accomplishment...
TheHauler100 accomplishment? hmm
LMfao far from an accomplishment. a black woman OWNING her OWN bachelor show would be an accomplishment. Some white person giving us something isn't an accomplishment.....its like how black men should own the NBa instead of play for it.....think bigger
cray 3K thank you. Her father's status and her status is an accomplishment. Some black ppl stay confused.
cray 3K ya'll seriously don't understand sarcasm do you?
TheHauler100 Lmao😂😂😂 I caught it.
FANTASTIC pick!! :) :) :)
Yes I agree!!!She´s the smartest among them!!!
My vote goes for some of the others...
BUT I think that they should select someone who wasn't on the show. Someone new each time. These people already had their chance on TV to find love. And didn't. Next person's turn!
It's about time! I can't wait to Rachel's season!
She's awesome! Cant wait to watch
Be nice 😋....She's free to love whomever she wants I guess. You never know she might just end up choosing a brother on her season. I guess you won't be watching?

She's umm, she's,,,, I'd marry her
her class, poise, beauty and smarts makes her too good for nick. can't wait to see her in the bachelorette!!
C. Chew ...Truly Nick have no idea who he wants.
she reminds me of one of the southern bachelorettes we have had in the past. She is so graceful and I catch wait to watch her. The guys she has on her season are defiantly going to be open to interracial dating, which are basically seeds the bachelor is planting for their future
Lordy she's beautiful 😍😍😍
Northern Light .....you are stupid and blind.
I will finally watch again! 15 seasons later!
Adrienne McCue ..lmao..me too
She is so great. I think it's important to acknowledge the significance of her being the first african american bachelorette, and I'm very excited for the diversity that is surely to come, but no matter what color, ethnicity, or race she is, she's truly a great woman and I'm actually sad to find out that Nick didn't pick her. It's about flipping time!! Great pick
I adore her! I hope her journey is a success and that this entices more ppl of color to sign up. She's a total gem.
She seems sweet, wish her the best!
So excited to watch her season!
Is it May 22 yet?
So happy for her she definitely deserved this!
#teamRachel
she's so stunning
Really happy for her. I enjoyed her on the show. Very classy and drama free
she's gorgeous
After all this time a black Bachelorette? Maybe the show is on it's last leg? Doesn't surprise me. What would surprise me is if a black man and black woman get together in a positive light.
Racist much? This show actually has the best viewership it has ever had, and it's been around for 20 years. Luckily, most people are racist, bitter morons like you.
I'm racist because I wanna see positive black relationships that aren't dysfunctional? Yeah that makes sense in 2017
Odessa Guyaba You already know fam
Lejon Leonard Black women have been the gate keeper for the system. They get every benefit there is because of it. Jobs, food, homes, medical, child support, you name it and then turn around and talk shit to black men. But when a white guy shows up they live "happily ever after". It's disgusting.
She's so smart and beautiful! She's way too good for Nick. I'm one hundred thousand percent sure he and Vanessa won't last! She's so dry and boring and he doesn't know what he wants.

I think they had to tell early because it's historic for the show, and they didn't want it to be a shock factor that could've possibly went wrong. She's so humble.I waiting for a black female president.
she's great for interviews because she is so well educated and knows how to charm people
I am so excited!!!
She's a perfect catch...Beauty Brains & Brillance.....I will be watching & supporting.
Why was this announced? Because of Reality Steve?
I have a feeling her season is going to make the ratings sky rocket
she is really sweet and glad she's making her on show who cares about color we are all the same.♡
It's so sad the way this is worded, it makes it seem like she has to defend her skin color. same! her face looks like malia obama
I love her message regarding being the first. Yes, she is the first black woman to be a bachelorette, but that's not going to change the show. It's just another bachelorette season. I hope the people love/hate her season because of the show and not because of her skin color.
She is just tooo beautiful and accomplished to be on that show. Where are all the good men worthy of her so tha she wouldn't have had to go that route
I love her, I'm happy it's her. she's such a free spirited and intelligent woman.
it only took 33 seasons.....wow. long overdue
The Truth there is still no asian leads
I'm mad that they told this before hand but I'm happy that she gets represent all African Americans
you think this mutt represents me....wrong!
How is she a mutt
I'm so happy for her! I haven't been this excited for a season since Trista and Ryan. Rachel is too intelligent for Nick anyway, they need to find some quality men.
Well said, Chris Harrison! A show that many people would dismiss as false and ridiculous obviously has its set-up scenarios but it has proven to be an actual viable way for people to find each other and fall in love!!! Soooooo-:))))
finally a pick I'm down with
I can't wait
I was hoping it would be Danielle M
If they asked her to do it, does this mean that Nick was told to pick Daniel?
You hear that? We gotta "Rally" behind her.
I am so excited for her I have been waiting for a black girl for years. I already know a few white people are going to make a lot of noise.
Go get your man Rachel!
Wait what happened between her and nick? Why did they break up
I like herrrrr!!!!!!!! finally the show made a good choice! Nick season was chaos.
Gorgeous, intelligent, and classy. She's been my favorite since day 1
love her dress
I love what she is wearing...Anybody knows what it is?
why is this showing in my suggested videos NOW?!? is he really going to be the new host?
beautiful sister brothers step your game up cause she's down with the swirl!
That dress is everything
She's gorgeous! I might just watch this season because they FINALLY introduced someone with color.
Rating tactics smh..they never announce the next bachelor b4 the person gets eliminated
Ericka Paula ....lol yep because they know once Rachel is eliminated there goes the black viewers.
I don't understand why it took the show this long to actually have a bachelor/bachelorette of color. The producers have only shot themselves in the foot for isolating the black community for waiting this long.

I really wish that they would have waited until the current season was over in to announce this...
She is so gorgeous
She is the ideal woman.
Wonder why they never asked Trista what it felt like to be the first white American Bachelorette?
OMG CANT WAIIITTTTTT
why does it matter that she is african american? shes awesome thats all that should matter
I love her😍😍😍😻😻💕💕

Lejon Leonard ...dumb ass, go and take it up with all those black men who think it's an accomplishment to fuck a different sister every time the wind blows.

WTF!! I was going to Binge Watch this season this weekend...knowing Rachel was looking like a Front Runner. What the Hell is the RUSH with announcing this! I guess there must have been a Huge Spoiler, Leak or did Nick Quit?
Bethsaida Romelus I'm glad they quickly announced her instead of changing her ,like they did with Luke because of the spoilers.
why did the mother ask if he was into interracial relationships, clearly he wouldn't have picked her if he wasn't
Imagine if her top 5 guys turn out to be black, and then they pick a black bachelor as well
Lindsay will give us what we all wanted that Nick did not-ROMANCE! And even though he keeps saying he is ready to "fall in love", he is not. He pushed away all of the women who broke him emotionally and welcomed the women who pushed him physically as he does not know how else to evolve in a relationship. Does this make him a bad person? NO! It is something that most of us learn about.
I think Rachel was feeling herself some Michael. lol
Rachel is beautiful!!
All these salty bitter black men 😂😂😂
my God get a life this beautiful classy young lady likes dating lady likes dating white men if that is what she wants and what she is attracted to there is nothing wrong with that if bitter black men don't like it who cares don't watch the show
10hooper they are very bitter. I bet the same guys that are talking shit are the same ones that hate bw.
Cherie Shermana lmao. do you really think black males would be choosing black women on shows like the bachelor if they had a chance?
why must the black woman ALWAYS be the one to choose black everytime when black males never do the same??
love her!
love love her
