Do you know how to turn off passive arming with the one way remote? Ive had this starter for years and had to have my starter reset recently and now the passive arming is on and I’m going to lock my keys in the car for sure.
Thanks for the video, i have a 2019 sorento, will there be an issue to get to work with the factory fob like you mentioned in a comment about the lock and unlock situation
don't hold me to this, but if I remember correctly, you will want to have installer hook up lock and unlock as well for you. I think when the vehicle is running, the factory keyless entry (lock and unlock) become inoperable .
If the light doesn’t light up when you press button… change battery in remote .. If light does come on , may need to be re programmed to vehicle . Cycle ignition 5 times in vehicle .. on the 5th time , leave the ignition on .. within a couple seconds press the button on remote .. If that doesn’t work, check with local compustar dealer to troubleshoot
Thanks for this video! I have a 910S system installed on my Toyota with 3X remote start but once engine is running the door remote unlock is disabled. Is this upgradeable to 2-way remote, and if I add the 2 add'l fobs, will the factory key lock/unlock still work (total of 4 remotes). Many thanks!
some cars factory remotes shut off once vehicle is running.. unfortunately on some cases, there is no way around this. sometimes there are different installation options which allow factory keyless to remain working, but thats something to consult with your installer about.
So I have this remote start and it’s the one way. So car turns on with it but then it locks itself and when I go to unlock the car it just turns itself off. Is there a way to fix this??
How do you set it to where it’ll stay on when you’re entering the vehicle? Mine keeps turning off once I open my driver door and then I have to turn it on again once I get in
Hello there Jake Bradford Awesome video, but I have a question about this. I just had a professional installer install 910S compustar remote start system on my car and 1WR3R-AM remote control. It works fine and starts my car only if I am outside but not from inside any building or house. Is this how it suppose to work? Am I missing something here? I am kind of pissed that I can't start my car from inside of my house when clearly it says right on the 910S box that you can start your car from inside your house. lol... If you say that you can't start your car with this remote control (1WR3R-AM) from inside a building, then what do you recommend that will work from inside a build or a house. Thanks, Jake Bradford.
hey so the basic remotes are just that "basic".. they don't offer much range... it may say "up to 800ft" on box but the realistic number is just a few hundred feet once you start putting obstacles in the way. Upgrade to an upgraded remote with further range.. you can keep the 910 unit installed, just upgrade the remote (and antenna) for it and you will be much happier!
@@jakebradforddesigns I see... but the thing about that is I am sure you know that the basic remote control range is said to be 1000ft. That's what they say on the box. Plus, my car is only 20 feet from my house and the only obstacle between my car and my house are the walls. So, even if we shave off few hundred feet from 1000ft for the obstacle, we should still be left with say at least 200 ft in a worst case scenario. :) If so, I am still within the remotes limit. Is it possible the batteries on my remote is almost out of power?
so something you can try .. batteries have shelf life... even tho you just bought the unit the remote. batteries could be weak/almost dead. No one knows how long the unit has been sitting on a shelf in the warehouse before it got to you. second thing.. when it says the range, it says "up to..." .. they don't tell you that to get that number they tested it on a bench , in a wide open environment with an unrealistic power supply.. as soon as it is in the car, the metal is surrounding it which really effects range, now your also in a. building which limits the already limited range.. now my opinion... 20ft away is odd that you can't start it that close... these remotes work off am frequencies(at least the entry level remotes do).. the upgraded remotes work off of fm frequencies. something in your area or near your house may be affecting the am frequencies or blocking it in some way, so upgrading remotes may be your only option :(
@Jake Bradford I see... I contacted the manufacturer and they said batteries in these remotes have only 2 years shelf life. It is very possible my batteries are almost dead. I hope. :) I do have WIFI turned on or enabled for my internet on my router. I don't know if that has anything to do with this. I just spent $300.00 getting this remote start installed. I hate to have to spend another 80 buck upgrading... If I have to, then I have to ... lol :) oh well. Thank you for your info, Jake. Love your video... Keep posting videos... :)
thanks for watching! the time is programmable .. usually have 4 options on how long it will run.. as low as 10-15 minutes usually as high as an hour.. I set mine to about 20-25 minutes depending on the system thats installed:)
Man I definitely like the confirmation that it is started and running while viper just gives you a green light up front I need to do some thinking on which would seem better
@@jakebradforddesigns I went with a company that really only used Compustar and I went with the single button 2 way with up to 2 mile range. I'm extremely happy with it so far and it's already cold here in MN. It makes a difference that you just take for granted after a while. Range is nuts on this thing litterally tried it the other day when I was in the back of Walmart and clicked lock just to see if it would lock my doors from way in the back of the store and it did which is nuts with all the other cars around causing interference and everything. Will have to try it this winter when I'm downtown around the conrete buildings and such.
I have a problem on my 1way keyless entry remote start! 3 months ago it was just working and the range was working fine as well! Now the range is just as far as my OEM key can reach! Do you know what could be the problem? I checked the antenna if its lose and it wasnt!
With your vehicle key. I can assume the remote starter will open the door(s) with it running, however you'll need your vehicle key to drive so... use that.
I just had this installed in my 2018 Nissan Rogue and the alarm keeps going off after I remote start it. I'm taking it back for the third time tomorrow to see wtf is going on, what am I doing wrong? I've done everything i was shown/told but every which way sets the alarm off!
unfortunately it was installed improperly if its tripping your alarm.. one of the things that we as installers must overcome with remote starts is making sure it integrates with the factory alarm properly.. if you were in Maryland, id tell ya to stop by and id take care of it for ya. but if it was the third time, id start looking for a different shop or installer honestly because this should be a very basic and easy fix in my opinion.
If the command is recieved and performed for lock , unlock or start.. you will get a green light. If it doesnt work , or if your out of range, it will go red.
if it is a "smart key" or Push button vehicle... typically doors have to initially be locked and remain locked until you are ready to get in.. If this is not the case, then take it to a shop.. most vehicles are suppose to remain running for "takeover".. there are some exceptions tho.. such as push button toyotas / lexus/ and some acura.
One way , not reliable. Don’t waste your money . It didn’t work more times than it worked . And I was looking at vehicle. Tried everything, would not recommend.
Thank you for giving and showing a clear explanation between a 1 way and 2 way remote start!
I just bought the compustar too..I definitely will be getting a two way.. thanks for explaining the difference

Installer can change these settings for you during the flashing process on the computer

Thank you for the video! Can I still use the lock unlock feature on the key the car came with?
everything works like normal, your just adding the starter :)
I cannot use my car key once the automatic start key is used to start up the car. I have to turn it off in order to use the key that came with my car.
I have the one way remote. Had it for about a year and it just stopped working. Any idea how to fix it?

What I want to know if I can program the controls that you look at when the car is turned on, I mean those with a screen, thank you

depending on the vehicle.. some vehicles dont allow vehicle to remain running unfortunately. Its called "take over" and not all cars support it.

I have the one way remote. Can I get the 2 way remote bye just getting new remotes ?
You have to purchase the 2 way rf kit which will come with new antenna as well
Man I definitely like the confirmation that it is started and running while viper just gives you a green light up front I need to do some thinking on which would seem better
personally im a computer fan... if you choose to go with viper, check out their new DS4

Remote battery?
Do you always have to set the brake when you have remote start?
Can you please test the range to see which remote has a bigger range or is it the same? If so, can you tell me how much range you actually get?
Hi once the remote start is started how do you open the car doors to get in the car
With your vehicle key. I can assume the remote starter will open the door(s) with it running, however you'll need your vehicle key to drive so... use that.
Can it pop your trunk open on a car?
The 1 button remote does not offer trunk pop .. but they do have a 4 button remote which doesb
hi does the 2 way start have minimum 3000 ft long range?
this particular unit has a maximum of 3000 ft, some of the other remotes have much further range if more than that is needed
mine does lock and unlock doors , but it does not star engine , 2 weeks ago it worked just fine ,
take it to a reputable shop or installer and let them figure it out.. more than likely its a programming issue.
I just had this installed in my 2018 Nissan Rogue and the alarm keeps going off after I remote start it. I'm taking it back for the third time tomorrow to see wtf is going on, what am I doing wrong? I've done everything i was shown/told but every which way sets the alarm off!

Anyone know why when I open the door of my minivan it shots it self off ?

I can’t program my one way and 2 way only one or the other but not both anyone know why?
How to change battery
My car battery went dead and my remote now doesn't work!!! What to do?
The second way consumes more battery, because of the sound.
One way , not reliable. Don’t waste your money . It didn’t work more times than it worked . And I was looking at vehicle. Tried everything, would not recommend.
