This guy fits the Polynesian stereo -type . Very laid back and humble, but if you piss em off, your done!! I met a few Samoans and they were the coolest people.
A great thing about Haku and Barb is that in addition to being incredibly tough and powerful, they both possess a good moral compass and avoid situations that hurt the business. They aren’t identified as being involved with ring rats, bullying, harmful pranks, problems with promoters, drugs, etc. The only fights outside the ring you hear about are when someone (quite foolishly) invades their personal space when they are enjoying a drink. Both guys always exhibited great professionalism.
Dickbrain McGee: They definitely should be, Dick, along with Corny and the Midnight Express. While the WWE HOF isn’t a “hall of fame” in many ways, it does give those honored a few more well-deserved paydays courtesy of WWE.
I love the way to barbarian sounds. They could have totally went a different way with his character he could have been like a descended a Genghis Khan or something.
I actually think that his accent made him more intimidating and convincing. When Warlord would talk, it was a guy with an American accent, but Barb sounded more scary.
This is Saggs version of what happened the night of the fight. "So we get into the match, I tried to stay out as much as I could, it got all screwed up because Syxx-Pac was supposed to run down and do something, but he never showed up. Suddenly, I didn't know what hit me [but] I went down, I'm seeing stars. I felt like there was a cut on the back of my neck, but I'm feeling back there and there's no cut. I look around and I didn't know who hit me from behind... I see Scott with a chair and he throws it in my face. I go, 'that's it', I walked in the ring and just started hitting him with punches....." After the match, they figured out that Nash had hit him in the head with one of the belts from behind. Saggs thought that Hall had potatoed him with a chair a second time in a second match. It wasn't really a planned receipt. The match was a total cluster with six big guys in the ring and nobody knowing how to end it because the planned finish wasn't happening.
Imagine a locker room fight between Outsiders and Nasty Boyz... and Haku and Barbarian show up to break up the fight. You can be sure both parties stopped fighting immediately.
Met Barbarian in 96 and was getting him to sign a photo for my brother and I was like can you make it out to Tyler? He was like....Tire? I'm like Ty-ler. And he said TIRE?? I just said, yea man thats cool lol. I'm like 13 and not trying to piss off a huge Polynesian dude in an Outback Stackhouse 😂
Haku popped a dudes eye out and bit another dudes nose off, so I'm sure he's well aware of where a situation can go when it gets out of control. Considering Barbarian's reputation, im sure he knows too
@@MortonT1958 Knobbs started it at the bar and Saggs finished it in the room. When Saggs was beating Shamrock to a pulp, Knobbs was laying on the bed passed out from drugs or alcohol.
Shamrock broke into their hotel room and Saggs hit him from behind with something heavy. When he went down and started getting beaten on is where he almost got killed. The nasty boys are not the strongest or toughest guys, but they don't play around when they get into a fight. Shamrock was dumb for going to their hotel room and they were dumb for taking the beating they gave him way too far. They could have killed him and ended up with serious prison time.
The originator of the sharp shooter or scorpion deathlock which ever you choose it was part of his match not a finishing move the Barbarin was one tough guy
I like barb. I remember watching that movie w/Dirk Benedick, Roddy Piper, Tonga Kid, Barb & Warlord. I recorded and watched the shite out of that and American Angels w/Magnificent Mimi, she was ahead of her time.

Me realizing I’ve been watching wrestling since the 80s & never heard this man talk before.
I don't know why I thought he could speak perfect English lol
@@ryanmcl9578 Med too!
too me
Barbarian is great. I've been a fan of his since 1985.
Never heard the barbarian speak until now...
He's a very intelligent guy, I have nothing but respect for him.
Barb is, like his cousin Tonga (Meng), a very respectful humble man. But also is more than any one man can handle if he decides to cut loose.
Haku also broke up the Vader Orndorff fight by saying "that's enough" and they froze
True
Vader said it himself.
I would have too.
💯🤣🤣🤣
@@MrT571 I'm not even fighting and I just stopped what I was doing.

Never heard a bad word about either. That says something.
Their wives would have beat them to death lol
@Mort Telford: get off their nuts will ya?
Fun Fact: All of them are alive to talk about it because Haku let it slide.
Hahahahaha true!
Beat me to it.
Barbarian is like Tonga's Mr. Miyagi now.
With Haku and Barbarian as peacemakers all war would cease.
Been enjoying these Barbarian shoot clips he is awesome also tough as hell
His hands should have their own zip code.
Both Barbarian and Haku should be in the Hall of Fame for cryin' out loud.
WWE Hall of Fame is a joke just a money grab

@@MortonT1958 dont forget demolition
It’s a shame The Bellas are in, there’s so many better deserving wrestlers
He and Haku could've taken all 4 and they were the coolest out of the whole thing 😂
Barba and haku two blokes you would want on your side in any situation, and massively underused in wwf.
Word is Haku is the toughest, Barb is second toughest. Also Haku is the nicest....I think Barb may be even nicer.
But both are scared of their wives and tell you so lol
I love the way to barbarian sounds. They could have totally went a different way with his character he could have been like a descended a Genghis Khan or something.
Barbarian was a great heel beast.
For a big guy he could fly around the ring.
His only weakness was his promos.
I actually think that his accent made him more intimidating and convincing. When Warlord would talk, it was a guy with an American accent, but Barb sounded more scary.
It was a shame that every time they lost, he was the one that got 📌. I dont remember Warlord taking the fall. Might be wrong. Seems so long ago
Mentioned very rarely took the fall aswell.
The Barbarian was my all time favorite wrestler. And I grew up in Pittsburgh idolizing the great Bruno Sammartino.
The Barbarian seems like a real life kind man, Big Respect for him
He is a nice guy. Met him before a Nitro when he was a heel and he was still nice to me, my brother, and my friends.
He sounds so soft spoken and kind.

Underated...man put in work for many years. And now he and Arn Anderson are teaming up to eat up my free-time! Love it, keep it coming.
barbarian is tongan..so am I and omg he sounds like my dad! that heavy tongan accent ♥ love this!
You are beautiful too ❤
Great Interview👍
Wow my first time hearing Barbarian speak mad respect to the work you do Hannibal!
Raider Nation
Barbarian is one of my favorite of all time. I also like listening to his stories because to me he seems like a genuine honest guy.
Idk why but I love this mans story telling
Holy crap, those hands can crush rocks
What a nice guy the Barbadian sounds like.
Imagine a locker room fight between Outsiders and Nasty Boyz... and Haku and Barbarian show up to break up the fight. You can be sure both parties stopped fighting immediately.
I wouldn't want to mess with Barbarian, Warlord of Meng.
I remember the Barbarian & the Warlord (the Powers of Pain) vs the Road Warriors (Hawk & Animal).
Genghis Khan?!?!
Reminds me of Haku and Mike Tyson. So soft spoken and so dangerous. 😂...
Barb and haku are cousins

Why are haku and the barbarian always the peace makers
Because they legitimately scared the living shite out of everyone in the locker room.
Haku popped a dudes eye out and bit another dudes nose off, so I'm sure he's well aware of where a situation can go when it gets out of control. Considering Barbarian's reputation, im sure he knows too
Barbarian is one of my favorites.
He still looks great.
Big fan of Konga The Barbarian with Paul Jones
The Nasty Boys were downright nasty especially Jerry Saggs. He almost killed Ken Shamrock
And based on what I heard from both sides, a very drunk Brian Knobbs started it.
