Thank you so much. I took my car in today to get service and the guys cannot figure out how to turn off the service light. And less than two minutes you were able to solve my problem you’re the best thank you.
Thanks for the reset info. It would be great if somebody did a video for an oil change for a 2018 Tiguan. It was a learning experience for me. The first drain plug I found uses a 5mm hex key, but I quickly realized that it was the transmission fluid because the fluid was red tinted instead of black ( I only let a little drip out since I wasn't certain about whether it was the oil or transmission plug). The oil pan is actually made of plastic, and the oil drain plug is also plastic. The oil drain plug uses a common flat blade screwdriver and only turns about 90 or maybe 180 degrees to unscrew. There's a tab on the edge of the plug that clicks into an indention on the edge of the drain hole. I'd never seen a plastic oil pan or plastic plug like this before. I wasn't very impressed, but I assume VW did their research before using it. I guess "time will tell". Also, the owners manual says to use 0W30 weight oil but the label under the hood says to use 0W20.
Where I'm pressing the button to turn the ignition on, you will want to just turn the key to the "on" position without starting the car. It should reset the same way from there.
If you know a shop or someone with a proper scan tool you can change the mileage and amount of days through a scanner. 5000 or 182 days is what I do for synthetic.
@@justinschubbe5707 you just need the proper scan tool. I just did a reset for this same exact vehicle. Changed inspection mileage and time as well for transmission and brake service. This lady bought this from the Volkswagen dealer and they put the wrong oil inside it
If you're only changing your oil 1 time a year and/or every 10 thousand you're destroying your engine. It should be every 5000 miles or 6 months. Cant believe the idiocracy of dealers and people. Then wonder why they blow their motors.
thank you, so simple! its hard to believe how some people on youtube can turn this into a 10 minute video clip 🤦🏻♂️
scammers
@@joemarsden68Not the word for it but.. Yeah?
I can’t believe I forget this process every time it comes up. Thanks for the video.
I cant believe people think its a good idea to change their oil every 10 thousand and 1 time a year

This worked. Super simple and short video. Thanks man.
Lol I put off searching this so long after doing the oil change, so simple
Best video ever , thanks 👍
Been looking for this forever! Thank you so much!!
Thank you for showing how simple it is!
Thanks for this, this works on the new 2018- crafters as well 👍
Thank you! For anyone else reading- I drive a 2017 golf and the same process applies
Mine said that the intervals was changed, but it keeps saying oil change due, even though it just said it was accepted pretty much.
You’re the real mvp Matthew!
The real mvp are the techs like me who dont tell people to go 10 thousand on synthetic and to change it once a year.
Fantastic. Thank you so much
This worked for my 2017 Tiguan. Thanks!!

Thank you! This worked perfectly
What do I have to do if I want to reset the oil change indicator in the VW tiguan 2018 s model, the one that has the ignition switch?
Where I'm pressing the button to turn the ignition on, you will want to just turn the key to the "on" position without starting the car. It should reset the same way from there.
It may be a prudent idea to put up a second video with the methodology for the “S” series Tiguan.
I was following along and noticed if the hood is open the service reset message will not pop up until you close it
i love you mate
Thank you ,much appreciated 🙏.
There’s absolutely no way I’m only changing oil once a year haha my car said 10,000 miles. I like to change it at least twice a year

When it comes on tho do I just need an oil change ?
Thank you!

Cool! Easy peasy lemon squeezy
For whatever reason this isn’t working on my 2018 Tiguan even though it has worked in the past!

So helpful. Thank you
Thanks a bunch!
i changed the oli after i reset it shows 1-2 error ? What shoud i do ?
Thanks for a hint man!
Maybe the oil is bad or its not completely work in the engine
Thanks!
Hey, can you change the oil service mileage to something like every 5,000miles instead of 10k?
Probably not
@@justinschubbe5707 thats the better choice. people wonder why their vehicles dont last. synthetic oil is good for 5000 or 6 months.
@@theresonly2genders2023 yea I know, just probably can't change the computer to tell ylh to reset it at 5k I'm saying

@@theresonly2genders2023 damn, how does a dealership screw up like that
Why isn’t mine working?
Thank you so much :)
Should’ve been a 15 second vid
Thankyou
Wtf it says reset and later again service due
You talked for 1min before telling us 2 buttons🤯
Congratulations! You watched the video!
lol you have some nerve…. next time just thank the guy for showing you something you couldn’t figure out
This video could have been :50 shorter.
I can’t believe I keep coming to this video because Neil Huffman’s service department is awful.
