Guys, I am so sorry. In my excitement, I messed up my microphone recording settings, so some of my thoughts are a bit loud and crispy! I did my best to smooth over what I could and I hope it's at least watchable now! Still, I apologize that it’s not up to my usual standards. Rest assured I will be taking steps to ensure this doesn't happen again!
I always have wanted a Hammond Collection T-rex for so long and literally your excitement made me want to get this T-rex SO BAD!!!!!!!! that I can’t wait to hold one so don’t be ashamed of yourself!
Great review. One thing though, you actually have the legs on your Rex bent the wrong way. You have them straight up in a more humanoid stance, like Godzilla. Where the legs should have a bent “lightning bolt” digitigrade stance. It’ll greatly enhance its already killer looks because it’ll look a lot more natural like it does in the films.
Me: finally a fully articulated T. rex I gotta get this. GF: what makes this so special? I see these Jurassic park toys all the time Me: ITS NOT A TOY ITS A COLLECTIBLE!
Really can't wait to get my hands on this one, and I can't wait to see where this line will go next year. Edit: I also can't wait to pair this one with the BotM one coming out later in the year.
Good luck with that! It goes for half a grand on EBay and most stores don’t have it. I got it, as it was hidden behind a bunch of Camp Cretaceous Indo Rexs’. Best of luck though!
@@CamsterSauce I managed to get one pre-ordered over on BBTS the night it was revealed at the Generation Jurassic event. I just went to check it out, and the page is missing, although my order didn't get canceled. Says estimated arrival is in July now, after saying June. Fingers crossed it goes through even if delayed some. I wonder if the shipping crisis is just complicating things. Kind of saw that with the launch of the Parasaurolophus and Baryonyx, but now they are more obtainable too. I'm truly hoping these are widespread soon enough for anyone that wants one.
That was a fantastic video and speaking of that figure I don't have it yet but I'm planning on grabbing it at my local target sometime when it comes in stock if not I'll grab it on the website
This figure is fantastic! I've said this throughout my entire time collecting action figures, I would rather have feet that are too big before having them too small. If you need absolute accuracy to the source material, invest in a statue or static image. If you want a figure that will support itself in various poses, don't mention having a problem with big feet. My T-rex is stable and holding poses like a champ! If it had small feet and required a stand, I would be bringing it back.
I can certainly live with big feet, but these are some of the biggest feet from Mattel yet! Part of my issue is that many of their past rex toys stood fine with smaller feet, and the Hammond Collection Baryonyx does just fine (even on one foot!) with smaller feet. The other issue this creates is that it makes the legs look a lot more spindly than they really are. I do feel dirty comparing this 50 dollar action figures to the work of Creative Beast Studios, but the rexes David is currently working on appear to be able to balance in certain poses just fine with perfectly proportioned feet. Oh well, I still love this figure warts and all!
I've got the (I think) 1/18th or thereabouts Gorgosaurus from I think it was Walking With Dinosaurs, or one of the animated/computer generated shows. It has tons of articulation and looks decent but it's feet are I suppose "accurate" and that thing is just a pain in the ass. It wouldn't stand even on the first day, just too weak a joints, feet are weak which made the knees weak, hips, etc.. Overall I feel I wasted my money and would much prefer "big feet" here that will stand in a pose.
Buen video amigo!!
I still think they make the feet too big on all their dinosaur figures. Mattell could've included a base with a peg for the foot to plug into if the feet were too small. I hope there will be 3rd party upgrade kits to fix the feet. I also don't like how the eyes were painted.
I want to get Rexy but I'm hoping they make a Green Buck Rex, Spinosaurus and Giganotosaurus. I'd rather wait for those first if I know if they're getting made or not.
Keep an eye out at Target or through Big Bad Toy Store, those are the two places I've been hearing the most about. Amazon and Mattel Creations might also have them.
I stood it up next to my Bull T Rex and Thrasher T Rex. It’s a MASSIVE T Rex figure. I don’t regret spending 50 something dollars at Target for it though whatsoever.
Great toy review! Jurassic Park is my favorite movie of all time. And not only that, it's one of my favorite books. I actually just made a video on my channel going through a lot of the books, movies, and games that make up the franchise. Sound off in the comments section! Would love to hear what your favorites are.
NGL this new hammond collection JP T. rex definitely could be a great stand in for LWJP female/Doe tyrannosaurus. Now we just, need a bulkier male/Buck tyrannosaur from the same film. The only cons about this finger are the squeaking torso joint, clone feet, off-focus glass eyes, and a glossy paint job. Other then that it’s a great pose-able finger.
I would like to get it but something about it is off but idk what, the legs or head? I don't like the eyes. In my opinion I think the baryonyx is the best in the set, which is why I bought it.
It's just The way the head opens and the size of the feet makes it look disproportionate, also he posed it through out most of the video with her legs extended making it look more off, mabey someone might come out with some replacement feet. But I assure you that it's fine aside from those minor issues.
@@34r343 yeah, the feet are just a bit big, and I think they made the legs longer or how he posed the legs. I think they should remove the piece that above the foot and replace the foot there to make the legs a bit shorter. Also is the pupil small? Cause throughout most of the video I see just yellow glass like eye.
@@mcdragon0123 the peice above the foot is the rest of its foot, theropods walk on their toes, also it would look incomplete and off. Its just the way he posed it as well as the feet (toe) size being way to big. Put it in a neutral pose or walking pose and it will be fine, the knee is also double jointed.
@@mcdragon0123 also about the eye, I'm not sure if it should be bigger because the glass part of the eye magnifies it. The pupil was probably not applied properly, also that's a good reason to buy it in stores to check.
Don't know why the squeak bothers everybody doesn't bother me! It only squeaks when you pose it then it doesn't squeak anymore unless you're going to play with it but most of us are going to pose it and put it up on a shelf! It's a adult collectible not a child's toy so you shouldn't be playing with it just post and display and no squeaks!
HURRAY! I HAVE THIS FIGURE! Now I don't have to cry myself to sleep not having the money to afford one for myself...YAY! ....ahahahah...ehhh...eeh...my life is great...
Those feet are just comically out of proportion. I understand it's to help the figure stand on its own, but still...i would have hoped a greater effort in the engineering would have steered it towards a more accurate model that could be posed.
The Hammond Collection Tyrannosaurus Rex would be much better with especially the smaller and shorter feet than the head (the feet 1/3 shorter would be enough). I so will want Mattel would also do in Hammond Collection : -Jurassic World Tyrannosaurus Rex with especially the smaller and shorter feet than the head (the feet 1/3 shorter than the head), and the exact location of the scars : those on the right, on the muzzle, and those on the left especially at the level of the shoulder; -Jurassic Park 3 female Velociraptor based directly on the AMBER COLLECTION JP3 male Velociraptor where it is enough to change the colors and remove the thorns or the proto feathers located on the head, and especially the smaller and shorter feet than the head (the feet 1/2 or 1/3 shorter than the head); -Spinosaurus with tail measuring halfway through the total length of the body, the bigger sail, and the feet not so big (the feet 1/2 shorter than the head would be enough).
the only issue with mattel figures (imo) is that they are so top heavy which means they need the big feet but it’s kind of impossible to make them weigh less without it feeling hollow and too light, it’s just a physics issue
