He can't be a Stalfos, they're physical skellotens that rome around the the world of the living. This guy's body is transparent and turns into a wolf in the living world. Also considering that Twilight Link is directly related to the Hero of Time as a blood line, him dying couldn't be possible. Also the Hero Shade teaches us skills that didn't know indicating he lived a life.
