- Our vlogging journey continues in the second part of our Venice video series. Burano was the highlight of this trip for my wife. We loved it there, but she especially loved the colorful buildings, the quaint shops and restaurants. Burano is less than one square mile in size, so it is easy to explore on foot. You can spend a couple of hours wandering down the narrow streets, admiring the beautiful houses, and popping into the bakeries and lace shops. The fritto misto we tried immediately after getting off the water bus was five stars. We also wandered around the main connected islands visiting cafes and souvenir shops. We tried several different pizza joints, deciding our favorite was Farini located at Campiello Riccardo Selvatico, 5659, 30121 Venezia VE, Italy. It’s easy to get lost wandering through all the various neighborhoods, some bustling with tourists, others quiet and quaintly residential. Traveling up the Grand Canal, we were greeted with breathtaking views of the historic charm of the city, the grand architecture, the impressive ease with which various types of water vessels of all shapes and sizes traveled up and down the canal seamlessly. There truly is no place like Venice. We can’t wait to go back!
