I was at Friday's with my ex, we've just broken up the week or so before but "wanted" to remain friends, and when I was at the bathroom, fighting not to cry, "I wish I could make it easy, easy to love me" I just broke down, hard. Somehow these lyrics resonated deep within me that I remembered them and could find this beautiful song, that's been played several times in the last 8 years I've known it.

I had always thought of this song way back when I found it as peaceful, calming, and would put me at ease. Now that I'm struggling with finding purpose in my life, the drifting away means so completely different to me, perhaps which is and has always been the true meaning of this song, that the person is no longer themselves and is struggling to form a connection with someone they love.
