But now im 18 y.o and i can proudly say that im a big fan of attack on titan and everyone who mocks this show is being hella idiotic
Perhaps one of the most interesting MCs ever written into any story; a character that starts out with a childish view of the cruel, unjust world. A black and white perspective; he is the good, humanity is good, and the titans, his mothers murderer, is evil. And as that view warps, so does the morality of the situation. A world that exists beyond the vastness that is the ocean, an enemy that you can understand, even sympathize with, an enemy that isn't just the same creature that you are, but some that are your own race. As Eren so aptly said, he would keep moving forward. He knows what he's doing is horrible, he knows that he can't be forgiven, and that he'll never be able to take back what he's done... but just as he said, "I will keep moving forward..." I don't justify him by any means, Eren Yeager will always be in the wrong, there is absolutely no changing that... but with that in mind, if you were in the same position, under the same circumstances, where the entirety of the world viewed you, your friends, your loved ones, your people, all as devils, and wished for the eradication and termination... one of those options you would opt towards would be to push back with just the same force... Freedom isn't an easy thing to obtain when in those circumstances... so when Eren finally achieved it, and knew somebody would come to take it, he knew he would have to defend that freedom he fought, crawled and sobbed for with everything he could, even if it meant he would even have to eradicate the entirety of the world to do so. His character is something every writer to strive to achieve; a character with such development in such an organic way, whether that be viewed as a bad or even evil way, nonetheless we've seen this character go from a childish, rage filled teen to an adult who will do anything to keep others from infringing upon his friends and people, willing to become a devil in order to do so. No matter the ending, whether he disappears or ends up as the bottom rung of humanity, his character will still be, in my mind, one of, if not the, best written characters in fiction. Edit: Seems as though everybody thinks that with the mangas ending, which has splintered the entire fandom, many thought that I would agree that his character is now a B-Tier or even C-Tier character, and to answer these random inquiries, I still love his character, perhaps more so now. I personally found the ending to be alright, albeit rushed; if it weren’t so last minute and rushed, I feel as though many would agree that it would have felt earned, but many believe that it wasn’t, and turn, think that he’s a trash tier character, which I believe isn’t right. He’s just another human who pushed his emotions down in order to accomplish something that even he hated. He knew it was a horrible choice to make, but in order to save those he loved, he decided that he would either eradicate or decimate the rest of the human population. Yes, his character showing that he loved Mikasa, or had a selfish desire to kee her love for himself may have been unneeded in many peoples vision of his character, but knowing your either going to die, or be vilified as a maniac with the power of a God, he wanted one last time with those who would be opposed to him, those people being the Ambassadors who would negotiate peace between the Yeagerists and the remains of Humanity. And of course, as I said, it may have felt out of place for him to want to keep Mikasa for himself, but of course he would want to vent, even if it were for the last time. He’s kept all this to himself for a very, VERY long time. Eren made a choice, where it was the world, or his loved ones, and again, it was his loved ones, like I had emphasized previously. Only the last chapter had shown us a more human side to Eren, who was shown to be emotionally distant to everyone, but at this last instance, he would let himself to vent to his best friends, give some assurance to his enemies who he would have sympathy for, and ensure that no one would be able to hurt his friends once he was gone. Although he isn’t the best written character in fiction, he is a fleshed out, human character, who would struggle and hate himself. In short, I personally believe the chapter wasn’t as ruinous as everybody believes; it could have definitely been fleshed out, but conveyed a different side to a Fallen Hero; the regretful, saddened, destined to die Villain who only had good intentions. Just like anyone who knew they were going to die, all he wanted to do was see his friends, his loved ones, and even those who would have killed him in a heartbeat if given the chance, one. Last. Time. Eren Yeager isn’t a God. He isn’t a slave. He isn’t anyone’s property. He was as human as the rest of that world. The development could’ve seeped a bit longer, but nonetheless, his character had stuck the landing in a way that would leave some people hurt, and others pleasantly surprised. It was all convenient, but having a semblance of seeing into the future can give you the cards to ensure some things can end happily. Eren Yeager, may he forever fly on the wings of freedom. Now, as I was saying; in short, my view of Eren Yeager is generally the same. I thoroughly enjoyed his character, and found his flaws, old and new, endearing and enjoyable.

Nothing stopped his march toward his ultimate goal. He was eaten, stabbed, shot, decapitated but none of it stopped him. He would achieve freedom for him and those he loves. And the lives of millions will not stop him, because even as a stampede of millions of Colossal Titans flatten the earth and take the lives of good and bad people alike, he still kept moving forward to see what was across the horizon. Hell? Freedom? Only those who keep moving forward will ever truly know.

"The island.. It's to save Eldia.. But... It's more than that.." "What was really beyond the walls was nothing like the world I dreamed of..." "It wasn't like the world I saw in Armin's book..." "When I learned that humanity lived outside the walls... I... Was so disappointed..." "I... Wished for it... I wanted to wipe it all away..." "I'm sorry..." "I'm sorry..." "I'm sorry..." "Ever since I was born there, before my eyes stood those miserable walls." "Flaming water." "Frozen plains." "Snowfields on sand." "I'm sure that the outside world is way bigger than the one inside these walls." "Anyone who saw those things would be the freest person in the world." "This is..." *"Freedom."*
I mean i would too. You know expecting that in Armin's book, it was a paradise but in reality. It is another version of hell, but much worser than the titans itself. SO what do you do? *FUCKING TURN IT INTO THE PARADISE YOU WANTED* Lmao
Honestly I don't think he meant that, since he knew that people were the same everywhere. It was probably him trying to revert back to his old ideas to feel motivated again.
@@hassassinator8858 Yeah agreed. I could also see it as him trying to only focus on those who are willing to take away his freedom, (hence "animals") but in reality it's not just those people being killed by the rumbling. He's always called those who try to take away his freedom "animals"
"In every era, this titan has moved forward, seeking freedom. For the sake of freedom, it fights. Its name, is the Attack Titan." - Eren Kruger "Since that day, without stopping once. He kept moving forward." - End of Chapter: 130 "To the boy who sought freedom, goodbye." - End of Chapter: 138
"You’ve been waiting for 2000 years for some one to free you" you’re not a slave nor a devil.. you’re free..." Eren’s passion for freedom is not only about himself.. he seeks freedom for his people and blood.. Eren will always be the greatest MC Of All Time.
At the cost of the freedom of those who oppose him, even if he feels a slight tone of sympathy for them, he still kept moving forward, even after witnessing that there are those who don't oppose him and are likely to have experienced the same litany as him, the guy had the courage to choose to sacrifice them for paradis' freedom. This is Attack On Titan. Even if the main crew's and Eren's conviction collide, they share the same driving force, "One can't expect to change anything if one were not to sacrifice something"-Armin, chapter 135. This was a direct throwback to the legendary season 1 quote in the Female Titan conclusion arc "To change anything, you must abandon your humanity, Eren". Something tells me that Armin has known that this outcome (of Eren going against the world) would come.
It's a very loaded situation, because Eren may have sympathized with Ymir, but he is also using Ymir to his own ends. It was more like saying, "you're no slave, I'm no slave, so help me win!" And his gamble payed off in the end instead of Zeke's. Noone is the people's champion here. The grey morality is what makes AoT so interesting in comparison to many other mangas and stories, in my opinion.
He doesn't want freedom for eldians he wants freedom for paradis, the majority of people with eldian blood was probably in the continent, and he just murdered them because he couldn't see another way.
I dropped this once after 5 episodes cuz I was too obsessed with OP MCs back in the day and Erren was kinda weak at the beginning...Damn I am ashamed of myself.Thank God my taste of anime got better.
What a beautiful piece it is. This song is the literal personification of Attack On Titan itself. The lyrics, emotions, memories, melody, story - everything is just top notch and unparalleled. Vögel im kafig truly captures the essence of Attack on Titan in all its glory. Such a masterpiece indeed. The beginning of Attack on Titan was with this magnificent song; and this masterpiece of a show should also end with it. If the last scenes of Attack on Titan plays Vogel im kafig in the background, as the ending of AOT unfolds before our very own eyes,it will be such a beautiful and fulfilling way to finish this wonderful journey.

Plot Eternal Champion * A great war happened long ago between Humans and Eldren, both sides used weapons of terrible destructive potential that almost destroyed the world, the war ended with the Eldren being defeated, they flew away from the continent, making a vow to never use these weapons once again. “Such was the destruction that we swore never again to use our weapons, whether we were threatened with extermination or not. We could not assume the responsibility for destroying an entire planet” * Humanity developed an intrinsic hatred for the Eldren, blaming them for all their misfortunes and wishing for the annihilation of their entire race, many years later humanity is united in a desperate fight against the inhuman Eldren, Erekose is called by King Rigenos through a dream to fight back and end this conflict. Attack on Titan * About a hundred years ago the Eldians used the power of the titans to rule the world, once they run out of enemies they began to fight each other, that was the great titan war where Marley won over the Eldians and their king retreated to an island far away from the continent, the king then swore his vow to renounce war. “If Marley decides to exterminate all Eldians, I will accept it, that is how grave the crimes of us Eldians were, I will accept the responsibility of righting this wrong” * Humanity developed an intrinsic hatred for the Eldians, cursing their antecessors for the atrocities they did, however this hatred only got worse due to Marley growing on power, oppressing the world once again with titans, Eren is called by someone (Ymir) through a dream to fight back and end this conflict. * * This is just the short summary there is way more. * This is just the short summary there is way more.

Yes, he will be
@@sastaassh1112 and a mass killer too
At the cost of the freedom of those who oppose him, even if he feels a slight tone of sympathy for them, he still kept moving forward, even after witnessing that there are those who don't oppose him and are likely to have experienced the same litany as him, the guy had the courage to choose to sacrifice them for paradis' freedom.

Plot
Eternal Champion
* A great war happened long ago between Humans and Eldren, both sides used weapons of terrible destructive potential that almost destroyed the world, the war ended with the Eldren being defeated, they flew away from the continent, making a vow to never use these weapons once again.
“Such was the destruction that we swore never again to use our weapons, whether we were threatened with extermination or not. We could not assume the responsibility for destroying an entire planet”
* Humanity developed an intrinsic hatred for the Eldren, blaming them for all their misfortunes and wishing for the annihilation of their entire race, many years later humanity is united in a desperate fight against the inhuman Eldren, Erekose is called by King Rigenos through a dream to fight back and end this conflict.
Attack on Titan
* About a hundred years ago the Eldians used the power of the titans to rule the world, once they run out of enemies they began to fight each other, that was the great titan war where Marley won over the Eldians and their king retreated to an island far away from the continent, the king then swore his vow to renounce war.
“If Marley decides to exterminate all Eldians, I will accept it, that is how grave the crimes of us Eldians were, I will accept the responsibility of righting this wrong”
* Humanity developed an intrinsic hatred for the Eldians, cursing their antecessors for the atrocities they did, however this hatred only got worse due to Marley growing on power, oppressing the world once again with titans, Eren is called by someone (Ymir) through a dream to fight back and end this conflict.
