- “I am not a number, I am a free man!” 🏃♂️
The iconic opening titles for THE PRISONER show how Number Six (Patrick McGoohan) was captured and imprisoned in The Village, a mysterious place where all residents - guards and prisoners alike, do not use names, and instead are assigned a number.
Constantly watched by high-tech security, including the balloon-shaped robot Rover, prisoners will be captured or killed when trying to escape.
Discover the macabre world of The Prisoner in our 7-disc Limited Edition Hardbox set, jam-packed with brand NEW and archival special features, a 120 page collectable booklet, two documentaries, plus a bonus disc with five episodes of Patrick McGoohan’s previous series DANGER MAN, also loaded with new and archival special features.

“I am not a number I am a free man“ is sadly more true now then it was back in 1967 when this amazing show premiered. I remember it so vividly and I’ve seen it many times since. And probably one of the best (and longest) title sequences ever.
If he'd packed his case first and dropped his resignation letter off on the way to the airport, the series would never have happened.
He should have just posted the letter. That way, he could be almost anywhere in the world by the time his employer realised he’d resigned.
On the plane they would have flown him to the village.😅
😂😂
If he could escape you don't understand what this is all😊about😊,... like this😊 world 🌎🌍😊
@@32ModB If you think you understand what this is all about, you don't understand what this is all about
This is only THE GREATEST TELEVISION SERIES EVER!
No way is it as good as Happy Days.
Now it would take the whole episode to drive that far in London.
😂
At least the car is old enough to avoid the congestion charges and ULEZ exempt
My roommate just ordered this for me for my birthday, was only $109 total shipped (to the US), which a damn good deal for this series. I haven't seen it in so long, I can't wait to get this.
Brilliant pop Kafka !-Mcgoohan brilliantly subverted the secret agent tropes of 1960s popular culture and created something unique and timeless
It just never gets old.
Way..way..way..ahead of it's time...loved watching it as a 10 year old kid, didn't have a clue what it was about but Patrick was mesmerising to watch.. would of made a great Bond, but think, may be wrong, he turned it down....great days sadly long gone..!!!!!
So what is it about? i am 55 but never seen it, always been curious though.
First watched this in the very early 1970s when it was repeated in the Anglia region. Didn't understand it at all (I was 9) and developed a temporary phobia about balloons ! Made when tv companies just said 'yes' to anything different. And it is still as great and enigmatic as it was back then !
Great news! Pre-ordered. Only complaint is that it should have released on June 6th (6/6) and not the 5th. 😉
Will it work on American blu ray players?
Outstanding!!!! Be seeing you Number 6 😊 !!!
I pre-ordered mine. Nice to see everything from all the other sets bundled into one ultimate edition. Outstanding series!
I will go to my grave totally believing with all my heart, that N06 is John Drake.
Funny enough ,been watching Danger Man recently and guess what he likes to say to people......."be seeing you" that cannot just be a coincidence by the writers ,
It was John Drake but McGoohan couldn’t use the name as it was owned by the Dangerman producers. They would have had to pay royalties and appearance fees. So it was easier to deny.
You and me as well. ;)
He is John Drake.
McGOOHAN HAD STYLE AND CLASS TOP SHOW WHICH SADLY YOU DON'T GET TODAY R.I.P. PATRICK McGOOHAN YOUR SADLY MISSED
This cuts off the first few seconds - important to both the music and to the mood and pacing.
And at 0:39 when he drives out of the underground car park and the nose of the Rolls Royce comes into view.
Amazing series!
I remember watching this when it was first shown, I was 14. It was great although I could never quite figure out what was going on.
Great news, pre-ordered 😀
I'll order either way, but is this by chance new scans?
Cool Program!
I am not a number -- I am a PERSON -- geesshhh
We are all number 1
Be seeing you. Left fingers snap quickly.
Incredibly picture quality - I've never before noticed the bloke sitting in the window opposite Number 6's house.

Just like today
No way!!!!!
Is this any better than the previous release?
Are you referring to the Blu-ray copy released by Network in the UK? The picture was fantastic. One of the oldest programmes in my Blu-ray collection yet probably the best looking Blu-ray for picture quality. The colours are so clear and sharp. The original film must've been looked after well. This new release though by Imprint Films has quite a bit more bonus material. My Network copy I believe only has a couple of episodes of Danger Man. This has a lot more. This new Imprint release was scanned at 2K (not 4K) and the original film was 35mm. I presumed the Network release was a 4K transfer. Perhaps I was wrong. We'll see. A very neat set.
@@andrewsmith2757 Well the one I have is branded A&E but it does have the network logo on it also. Must just be the U.S. version of the same transfer you're talking about.
@@andrewsmith2757 Network's scan was 2K, not 4K.
region-free?
Most likely
They were telling him “You are, number 6” to the question “Who is number one” - Notice the “,” after “You are” 🧐
We are all number 1
@@jpldriver No, Patrick McGoohan WAS number one! - The guy who instigated all of it!
