After watching each dancer several times I always return to Olga Smirnova and ...smile!
Letestu and Terioshkina have that particular gift that the variation requires and that they often exhibit on stage: playfulness.
Both are casual, but always elegant and musical.
Letestu is very "French" chic!
Terioschkina is always imperial!

The best for me is Novikova. I also love Tereshkina, Smirnova and Letestu.

We're happy to leave it to current dancers and choreographers, ex dancers, to give us an evaluation based on given rules, for this Etudes Variation. All six ballerinas danced wonderfully ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️! Obraztsova stands out, her 'eyes' have it ❤️😊. I like very much Smirnova; she is sweet yet high-powered, has a nice technique and high artistry ❤❤️. This is a very good variation for 'Comparison and Contrast' and we thank you very much @ BB ❤😊.

I LOVE this video. The beauty of comparing variations from works being preserved (like RDB & NYCB) is that the ballerinas are not modifying parts they dislike (left turn in Diana et Acteon variation for example). I remember having Gelsey Kirkland come to stage a few Balanchine’s works and I appreciate that.🇵🇹🇧🇷🩰 8:50
Olga looks best here, and then Novikova and Letestu (I think she had the most style, if she would have a stronger technique she would surpass Olga). I ususally like Eugenia a lot but this one doesn't fit her at all. Thank you for the video, so interesting

Есть Смирнова и есть все остальные. Блестящая техника и абсолютно завораживающее впечатление, глаз не оторвать. Из остальных можно выделить Олесю Новикову. Другие далеко позади. У Терешкиной только техника.

Letestu is #1 for me. Obraztsova made way too many mistakes.
Your comment is interesting. I only notice that Obraztsova has a little shuffle at the very end. You speak of her many mistakes. Could you point them out in more detail?
Letestu, who is also wonderful and crisp, has a slight shuffle at the end of her fouettes and on the final step into 4th position too.
Of course, we are nit picking here, as it is the overall technical ease, musicality and general artistic dance quality of a performance, rather than minor technical hitches, that make a performance great.
Obraztsova’s variation is different from the rest of the ballerina.
Besides rock-solid technique, Letestu has that added aura of playfulness that the variation requires. Tereshkina has that also. That said, they are all gorgeous examples of the art of the ballerina (despite one or two wobbles, because after all they are human!).

I didn’t notice any mistakes. Her arm movements were a bit off during the hops on one pointe, but the rest was world-class, als always.
