CEC Kargil visits Matayeen Drass to meet families affected by recent fire incident
Kargil, February 02, 2025: Chairman/Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), LAHDC, Kargil, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon, along with Councillor Bhimabat Drass, Abdul Wahid, and SDM Drass, visited Matayeen Drass to meet the families affected by the recent fire incident.
The CEC assured them that all necessary assistance would be provided by LAHDC Kargil to support the affected families.
During the visit, Dr. Akhoon also inspected the Zojila Pass and reviewed the current status of the road. He appreciated the relentless efforts of BRO teams, including Project Vijayak and Beacon, for their hard work in maintaining the pass. He assured that every effort would be made to keep Zojila Pass open for an extended period this winter, depending on weather conditions.
Dr. Akhoon further stated that Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Dr. B.D. Mishra, is committed to the region’s development and is focused on ensuring the long-term accessibility of Zojila Pass during the winter season. He reaffirmed that LAHDC Kargil remains dedicated to the developmental progress of Kargil district.
Honble CEC Kargil, Dr Mohammad Jaffar Akhon visits Drass and met with the victim family of Matayen Drass where a fire incident took place. The Honorable CEC was accompained with SDM Drass Vishal Attri, SHO Drass among other officers Councillor Abdul Wahid and others. Honble CEC extends his full support to the family. CEC Kargil visited Zojila after there to asses the Srinagar-Leh highway conditions.

Idher kyo nhi horaha uder kyo horaha hai,bhai media person shud have some ethics to ask questions to the dignitaries, who gets elected after winning majority vote and will in a democarcy. Ask the same question to LG also if have the guts 😅
Best discrimination against Drass has been done by Kargil and its CECs since beginning... Example munsif court of Drass which was temporarily shifted to sankoo during Kargil war in 1999 was never brought back and finally after 2 decades in 2021 Drass got another munsif court similarly Drass has been marginalized politically by giving only two councillors by deliberately making its two constituencies the largest in terms of population so as to ensure that Drass gets as few councillors as possible...Both Drass and Bhimbet have 5000+ voters in each constituency while in other parts of Kargil many areas have councillors with less than 2500 voters ..see the sheer injustice and marginalisation.. what Drass deserved actually was to have constituencies with small population than average of district because of its rough terrain and snow Bound areas and always being an. Ethnic minority and also religious minority (shina plus sunni) so as to make them feel more accepted and welcomed but they got the opposite...they were given as little representation as possible..thanks to kind hearted kargilis...

If you Talk about injustice it's still happening. e. g why only ladakh scout in leh, why LG administration in leh and why not on rotation,, why nhpc hq in leh, why khelo india in leh first, etc etc. You shud broaden your views before comment. It's not your duty but it was and now i's the duty of govt to decide.
@@friendsofgreenladakh7664 my friend we don't need to argue just check top 2 largest constituency of Kargil council in population..you will find that both are Drass and Bhimbet..why? Is it a coincidence that out of 26 biggest ones are from Drass.? Don't you think Drass deserved to have smaller population constituencies to get more representation because of being an ethnic minority area?
@@friendsofgreenladakh7664 the answer to your questions is that majority makes rules and the side which has support of government or majority dictates terms ..same reason in both cases why Drass marginalized in Kargil district and kargil marginalized in Ladakh.. peace
@@Bharatsingh-il6jh why waqf bill passed despite secular nature of indian democracy ,it's same as majority win the govt and somewhat majority decision play more. an example for you and fact of democracy. Drawback remains in every leader and no one is perfect.but there is a, way to ask with dignitaries, whosoever he is. May God gives every leader the ability to rule uniformly.
