Also its a ref count, watch it again, Douglas took a standing count, he was conscious, so even if the ref counted quickly he would of been up for 8 count and the standing for the rest. Look at when Tyson was knocked down, he was scrambling for his mouth piece. No1 told Mike to do coke

The refs count is the official count... its the only one that matters..
Tyson was cheated. The count was bogus. The ref looked over at tyson for about 2 seconds when he hit Douglas with that junk.

Ali was past his prime when he fought both Frazier and Foreman.
Buster clearly laid there and actively listened to the count. He wasn’t out, he purposely waited until he HEARD 8 and got up…. It might have been 13-14 seconds that passed, but he reacted to the refs count not a phantom stop watch people want to start when he got dropped when they watch playback of the fight.

A long count is actually impossible. IMPOSSIBLE. There’s no such thing as a ten SECOND count. It’s when the referee counts to 10. A 10 count can be 32 seconds. It’s a “ten count” not a ten second count

@@soul2soul4 he counts the refs count. For example, you know how sometimes the ref counts 1-2-3 then stops and gives instructions like “get back in your corner” the outside clock keeper keeps the count until to ref can continue

Tyson said himself that he didn't train as well and he'd been up all night. Why make excuses if he recognizes his mistakes, already? Was Buster better, no. Not as a boxer. But he was good enough to beat him THAT night. Yes, it was a long count. But Buster was also leading on the cards, if I'm not mistaken. At the end of the first or second round even the commentator said that it looked like we might have a fight after all.
He said that because he didn't knock him out in the first round like he would've had he trained and took it serious. The fact that it became a fight is because he didn't train and he partied with Bobby Brown the night before.

What was your point in bringing this up? Buster clearly never disagreed with that he got 14 seconds. You said “i interviewed them both” like one said something the other didn’t. They essentially agreed and Busters rebuttal was “he got extra time too.” Sit this out, Vlad.

Watching an old time-period analysis. Buster got up and signaled ready to go at the 15th second. So even if the ref was more accurate than the official count by 2 seconds. Busta still got 12-13 seconds, instead of 10.
As far as the refs count speed, side by side, no, he didn’t count even slower for Tyson. He counted the same speed, and stopped the fight at his 9 second count.

Here’s the thing……it’s not up to Buster or even Tyson to count for the ref. So if someone is aware and not knocked out, they will move based on the ref’s count. Buster Douglas was clearly aware the ref started the count late and moved accordingly to when the ref started counting. May have been a little stunned but was definitely aware of what was going on, though visibly frustrated he would’ve still been able to get up regardless in time even if the ref started on time.
Ali would win. And the longer the fight that favors Ali. Mike usually lost when the fight went past 3 rounds.

It wasn’t the fact that it was 14 seconds, Buster could’ve got up way sooner. He was just maximizing the count as it was given to him, he clearly could’ve been up right away if he wanted to.
Thank you. He could've gotten up sooner than he did. Notice how Buster hit the canvas with his fist, signaling frustration from getting knocked down. But, by no means was Buster hurt after that knockdown. Hence, when he got up, he commenced to apply some major ass whopping on Mike in that same round. I was a Mike Tyson fan during that fight. But, I hate when some fans are delusional when it comes to their heroes.

IBF OFFICAL RULES under the knockdown and knockouts section:
"When a contestant has been knocked down, the referee will order the standing contestant
to the farthest neutral corner and begin the count. If the contestant standing leaves the
corner before the count has been completed, the referee shall discontinue the count and
order the standing contestant back into the corner. The count will not resume until the
standing contestant has returned to the neutral corner."
Here is why children think Mike got cheated. The ref followed the rules.
