I’d be curious to pick your brain on the LLC and tax side of UA-cam channels as a business if you had time at some point. Appreciate you Mike keep up the good work
Raptor 700r for dependability…I love mine and it is so easy to maintain and trouble free. Would love to see you build the Blaster up more, suspension and porting to go with your new head. I own 2009 low hour Raptor 700r, 2004 400ex, 2004 Blaster and a 2004 YFZ450 that I am going to do a build on. Keep up the awesome work Mike!!!
I had the same problem you’re having with the 660 but on my Grizzly 700. I checked the timing, valves, added a second wire to the starter from the solenoid to boost amperage, longer decompression pin, everything. It ended up being the starter clutch. The one way bearing seemed fine (would only spin one direction and lock up the other. But I replaced the gear the bearing sits on with the bushing in it as well as the starter clutch one way bearing. Turns over like stock now even with the BBK and high Comp piston and stage 2 Hotcam.
Hey Mike, if people are getting upset for you thanking the people you're networking with then they can just move along. Very few people realize how much it takes to operate a business or UA-cam channel. I love watching the videos of you restoring and putting together the quads the most, but also appreciate the work you show on how you got all to it. Keep up the great work and thank you for Powersports Nation for helping make these videos possible. The z400 was a dream quad of mine when I was younger. Every time I see one I still remember wanting one as a kid. Can't wait until you start restoring it!
I really appreciate this comment. Sometimes I let the negative comments get to me and a comment like this can remind me that it's not always personal and sometimes people really just don't understand. I am looking forward to the Z400 build as well - it's going to be a good one!
It's not networking it's marketing advertisement catering sellout shit. Instead of focusing on the grassroots every man build on junk machines that got him famous he's now worried about paid ads and sponsorships and making more money. I guarantee now we never see a video like the ones he used to make. He will always get his machines from that fucking powersports nation or w.e place.
Definitely excited for the ltz 400 project. So much aftermarket support and so reliable. I’ve had 3 and they have never let me down. Can’t wait to see where it goes
I just bought my LTZ, it's in Wost shape than Sabo's; has a bent axle and needs carrier bearings. I'll likely upgrade to the YZF450R swingarm @@MotoDoc304
Its cool to see how much you care to explain yourself and everything going on. Thanks for keeping us in the loop mike. Been watching your videos for so long now sometimes i find myself wondering what you’re up to behind the scenes haha
That’s one of the reasons I enjoy his videos so much and watch them all, is his attention to detail and ability to explain things. I would love to have a Michael Sabo build in my garage.
Good luck on finding a home and a shop. Just wanted to comment and say whatever you do build next I will be watching. You’re channel is actually my favorite on UA-cam. I was watching one of your videos a while back and my wife looked over my shoulder and said why are you watching a football player standing next to a quad lol
Dude I’m freakin stoked! As a Z400 Owner I can’t wait to follow along with that build. Love the content, been watching for about 2 years now. Great job mike!
I don't comment much on videos. I am blind, also live in PA, haven't been blind all my life. Loved sport quads and still do. I would love to build an old blaster, with the help of my dad. Back in my sighted days was a welder, dad is still a welder fabricator. My favorite quad of his was actually a LTZ400. We currently got a RMAX4 so I could get back out trail riding. Awesome video as always, sad to see you parting with your collection, could hear the sadness in your voice as well but fully get it... Will be a long time supporter. Keep kthe sport quad alive until I get my eyesight back. Keep on keepin on man!! 33:59
He’s really got me considering starting a similar business and I’m also abt to do rebuilds all summer long. so long story long that’s man’s is a true inspiration
So hyped for the Z400 content. Im an 2003 owner myself that I'm doin up real sweet. One thing that you NEED TO DO on the 03 and 04 chassis is get the frame gusseted at the front shock towers at the BARE minimum. They were known for cracking at the welds on them. They fixed in 05 and onward but that is something you should definitely do for safety reasons, especially seeing the shape that thing is in.
I had an 03😭 thought I hit the jackpot trading a 2007 300ex for it and then got it home and the checked the oil and it was bone dry. Put some oil in it and it all hit the ground. Duded hadn't replace the chain I'm assuming and it snapped ans bunched on top the shifter and busted the case. I was so upset but It was in pretty bad shape ide say close to sabos so I just jb welded it and threw a hose clamp on it and it leaked a bit but I jus beat on it tbh. Thing was a monster for a 400 I still don't think it was stock it had a Yoshi slip on but the damn thing would power wheelie 3rd and I could clutch it up in 4th lmao got it up to 73 but I only had gravel roads and that was sketchhhhyyyy
Traded it for a weird ass kfx450r that somebody has swapped an honda xr500 into it. Couldn't get it to wheelie just spun I even threw a set of kenda Bearclaws I had laying around on it still nah
Haters are gonna hate , They are just jealous that they don't have friends or all the hook ups that you have.. and rightfully deserve..you worked your ass off Mike to get where your at these days...your the man ,PSN are top notch people.. You Rock Dr. Quad
Great video brother! Just used your 250R Engine build series with Dave Moore to rebuild my 85 ATC 250R motor. I've had this thing since 1997, so it felt awesome to do the rebuild myself. Thanks for what you do!
People are getting upset because they are jealous that it’s not happening to them just keep doing what you’re doing it’s good to see these back on trails
I can certainly appreciate the struggle. You have a lot of talent and in my opinion awesome taste in bikes and quads. When the right thing comes along you’ll know it.
Thanks for sharing the collection Mike. Definitely have you saved as a seller on eBay now. Hope the sales go well and you can get things all sorted quickly. Keep up the great work!
I know you said you've previously owned a LTZ400 but the 2003 model frame was prone to cracking behind the upper shock mounts. I bought one brand new in 03 to race and sent mine for gussets after seeing a few people's crack. Be sure to go over those spots, especially a heavier rider like yourself. Suzuki addressed it for 2004. First year problems!!
You're an all round Nice guy who's very talented. Don't have to apologise for doing things your way as your way has worked so far mate. Keep up the great content and awesome builds. I wish you all the success and I'll look forward to the next one, whenever and however it comes. Smashed that like button of course. 660 staring issue, my fix would be to find a geared starter that fits. Cheers🎉
Ugh, I grew up riding in Jersey trails and pits and moved to SC 3 years ago. When I watch you ride in your videos it makes me miss Jersey woods so damn much. Jersey born and raised…..REPRESENT!
Michael.... First, check your valve clearance and your timing. If thats all in spec, then add another battery to the Raptor, and make it a 24 volt starting system. All of the GNNC racers run 2 batteries on their yfz's and 450er's b/c GNCC races are dead engine starts. When we add a 2nd battery and wire it up, it puts 24v's to the starter, and it'll fire up SO DAMN FAST! Your stator will only charge your main battery, but the 2nd one should give you more than enough juice to last you at least a weekend. And you have to recharge it. And then keep that 2nd battery on a battery tender. But I'm sure you have to do that with most of your e-start machines anyway. BNR Motorsports makes a kit for the Yamaha's. But it's really easy to do it yourself, without having to buy a kit. Definitely check the intake valve clearances and the timing first. And if that's not the issue, then try the 24v deal. There's no since in having a quad you can't depend on, even if it is almost too purdy to ride....
I put compression releases in my higher compression Harleys. Mechanical units, pretty cheap. Most guys just buy comp releases for chainsaws and fit them where you can. Pretty small, pretty simple to install.
You should do another raptor 700 build for trail, dune, reliable do all ripper! I know I love mine, it’s taken a beating for many years now and there’s no quit in it! Nothing beats the torque they make to push us bigger guys around with out the engine having to work so hard. Love the video man!
I think the first vid i ever watched that u did was Grape ape Michael.im a retired master tech that grew up in the yamaha and suzuki dealerships, then eventually owning my own shop for many years, but i think u were using Aggressive graphics back then and t uh ats what kinda caught my attn as both of my sons and my adopted son Aaron work there so i was pretty stoked to watch Grape Ape,and she turned out just wicked gnarly good looking and for a 144 i thought ot sounded decent once u played w/jetting.Now i try to watch all of your u tube shows cause even us old retired Bike/quad guys never really get tired of awesome builds and/or repairs.wish i lived closer as i would love to stop by an lend a hand if u ever needed some help.Keep up the awesome builds an content as i know this ole Boy appreciates what u are doing.Peace.....
You’ve got a plan and it’s a good one, don’t let this stuff stress you out too much, you’re a great creator and you’re doing great man. I wish I could have the knowledge that you have about those machines. ❤
I'm glad you talked about your ebike some. Ebikes are so fun and you can ride them almost anywhere you can ride a bicycle. In a suburban setting they are absolutely awesome. I have an Ariel Rider Grizzly and it is a blast. It is also dual motor, dual battery, dual controller, similar to your bike. An AWD ebike...they are awesome but you have to get used to them (as you know I'm sure lol). I bought a second bike so when friends stop over from out of town we can go out for a ride. It's also nice if I'm doing maintenance on one bike I have another to ride and I can take my time on any maintenance.
Have you tried putting it in high gear and pushing it to get the piston on a stroke other than compression. I’m not an expert, you know way more than me but my dad had an old semi truck that had to be push started sometimes and we had to put it in a higher gear to start
Nice collection…. I heard that you mentioned Ken O’Connor that’s an awesome guy to work with.. I’m a customer of his shop… he has a lot of experience blasters & banshees…
Greetings from Florida,, new viewer here ,, love the content, 1st vid i saw was CAN-AM MAV Rebuild , love that vid,, surprised you never replaced it with another SXS in your collection, look forward to more vids
Awesome collection. After watching your videos I am looking for a raptor 660 to restore! Seeing the quad magazine shock covers brought me back to my high school days! If I remember right you got those as like a free gift when you subscribed to the magazine.
Awesome machines, glad I was able to watch along and learn some stuff. Inspired me to rescue abused machines, and hopefully I’ll reduce a banshee here soon. Things are ridiculously expensive for a beat to hell machine lol
@MichaelSabo, what oil filter goes into the DRZ125? I have a 2005 DRZ125 and I am struggling to find the correct oil filter. Your DRZ engine looks exactly like mine... Please Help! Cool bikes by the way. A childhood friend had a Tecate 4... brings back memories.
For one PSN is prob one of the best companies to buy used parts from. They sell good parts and they're fair priced and if needed to return something there easy to work with. Hell anyone would be lucky to have them as a co partner/sponsor. Great stuff man watch ya all the time.
I can't say enough it's awesome to have lots of toys, but they come with a few setbacks, but the way you treat your machines is Grand. Keep up the good work brother 👍💪. Hit that like button up ✅✅✅✅
I heard the o3 or 04 had weak frames check on that & I would add the adjustable shocks the newer ones have as well, im hoping for a ltz400 as a first quad once work picks back up 🤟🏾🔥
I agree the z400 is one of the most reliable quads you can get, full pipe, jetted or upgraded carb, big radiator, and good intake, the quad will last for a long time, they run good with the 434 big bore kit
Being a Blaster guy, the Crispy Chicken is my favorite! I like the upgrade talk with it, and hoping you go to a wider axle. Would love to have it and it would be great for our home made track across the street. It covers almost a half a block! Love the builds Mike ! BulTaco
I was thinking the same thing, that maybe after breaking in, it would work well. But still, I don't think it should be that way and I'm trying to find out why it gets stopped on compression strokes.
@@MichaelSabo we had a raptor 660 once upon a time and it had a hotrod crank in it and it was temperamental to the extreme. It didn't like compression stroke either do you have a compression release at all?
Hey Mike, your collection is awesome, I’ve seen that your unfamiliar with the ole Yamaha warrior 350. If you are at some point able to fix one of them things up that would be very cool in my opinion. Love your videos man keep it up!
HEY!!! QUICK ? IM RUNNING LOW SMOKE FORMULA MOTOREX T2 OIL. I JUST REBUILT THE MOTOR. STARTED IT AND IM GETTING NO SMOKE. 32:1 DOES THAT OIL NOT SMOKE OR COULD I HAVE CARB ISSUE? LOVE THE BIKES. LOVE YOUR WORK. THANKS
If you're handy, I'd go for a TRX450ER - still plenty of aftermarket, but chances are you'll have some work to do to it since you can't get them new. If you want something more reliable (in terms of being newer at least and most shops are familiar with them if you need work done), I would go YFZ450R - major aftermarket and it's the most perfected 450 that I'm aware of.
Super excited about the Z400 build. I've been following for a long time and there hasn't been a single build I haven't loved. It's really a shame I can't afford one of your bikes. I can't even afford my own let alone a mike sabo special. Nevertheless keep up the great work man super excited for future content
Z400 Mike is exciting. I've been thinking about another quad, but I'll just keep going with my 416 Hornet. Get the brakes upgraded suspension is stock. I super got to get that done. it's only money, but love this vid man
Man, I'm super excited bout the z400 and can't wait to see more riding vids. Don't get me wrong. Your builds are epic! I'm just saying riding vids are awesome, lol
Hey Mike, maybe look into putting a compression release on the head for the starting issue? A lot of Harley’s have them. Heck, even some larger cc chainsaws have them. Great work as always!
Would love to see the drz video. Been riding 4 wheelers my whole life but recently got an 06 dr200 from my father in-law that I ride back and forth to work. The wife won't let me have a fast motorcycle after I wrecked the last one 🤣
Bro, it’s time to do a Doug gust replica… I’ll keep saying it too 😂. It would be awesome to get him involved to get the info on what his old quad was like.
@MichaelSabo I can’t wait for your LTZ400 build. I feel the same way about reliability out the door with a completely built quad. I’ve had my 03 z since new and recently restored it for trail riding, and also built a 03 kfx400 to the gills but that one has had problems. I hope to ride the trail built one for another 20 years! I gotta upload some new walk around videos of them soon!
Man I love your videos man, I don't see how u work on stuff alone all the time. Don't get me wrong being by your self is great but it's nice having some extra hands
Hey meat check it out. Keep the 125, keep the tacate 4 it's extremely rare now days, keep the trx380 sell the rest. banshees' blasters, raptors they are every where. That Kawaski 450 keep it. They are the best ones as in monetary value. You been at this long enough now you know what you have into each machine and know what you can possibly get for them, but don't take huge losses on them either doing a ground up resto on quads is not cheap, you got to make money also. You're a smart man you'll figure it out.
You can see this dude is sad to see this stuff go. Michael sabo your a true genuine fella love the videos but it's a shame there isn't more good luck with all your projects. 👍
As far as the z400 goes, my crf150rb supermini has turned into my favorite track toy the older i get (24 now lol) Its fast enough to hit big jumps and light enough to never get tired. I give it to my buddies to help them improve techniques as well. To become a great rider you have to get a bike you can master. Kinda like shooting. If you buy a rifle that can out shoot the shooter, you're never gonna really learn.

I would love to own the voodoo banshee! Great job as always, very nice collection thank you for all you're doing and for bringing all of us along.
Thank you Shane, glad you enjoyed it!
That’s a badass collection Mike. I bought my KFX because of that 450 top quad series. Cool to see all the machines out and together.
Was that you riding at 2:28?? That’s pretty good on a bike bro. Especially a 200+ pound guy on a 144. Nice
Literally can’t wait to see what you do with the Suzuki and Tecate. One day, I’d love to see a Warrior 350 given the “Sabo Treatment” 🤙
You’ve got a plan and it’s a good one, don’t let this stuff stress you out too much, you’re a great creator and you’re doing great man. I wish I could have the knowledge that you have about those machines. ❤
Loved the behind the scenes stuff at the end.
Maybe I missed it but did you give up on the corvette ? I was excited to watch how you get it back running.
Hell yea man, they're super fun for sure and karens can't complain about the noise🤘
kenny is the man he did so much for me with my blaster in the early 2000s i introduced him to the vitos piston
Hey what do you prefer for trail riding obor advents or something from kenda
You have some of the nicest machines on the UA-cam
Thank you Keith!
Tecate !!! Let go bro !!!!
Great video as always man, I’ve been curious if you still had all of those machines 🤙
Have you tried putting it in high gear and pushing it to get the piston on a stroke other than compression. I’m not an expert, you know way more than me but my dad had an old semi truck that had to be push started sometimes and we had to put it in a higher gear to start
Girlfriend is gonna keep an eye on the Tecate! Big fans from Victorville Cali!
Appreciate the update homie
Don’t sweat it 2023 been hell
Keep on keeping on !
I think a YAMAHA WARRIOR 350 would be a great build series. Keep up the good work. Greetings from Portugal 🇵🇹
Hit that like button up ✅✅✅✅
I heard the o3 or 04 had weak frames check on that & I would add the adjustable shocks the newer ones have as well, im hoping for a ltz400 as a first quad once work picks back up 🤟🏾🔥
Yup they definitely did, notorious for welds cracking at the upper shock tower on the front.
Not sure if you could, but i used to run a 24v system on my gncc yfz450r. Maybe that would work on the 660?
Man what a great job! One of the best collection videos I’ve see. Great production value! Keep ‘‘em coming.
oo the Tecate 4 video will be a great, i love the way those things look. Its like an 80s Lambo.
Very nice collection 👍
Hell yeah. Keep it up. Get that vette into a dif series though lol. Keep em separate.
You need a Carport brother - that would should you enough room to work on the Corvette - its amazing what you do in that small garage!
The flip up headlight of the old Kawasaki was so cool
Cool to get an update vid, i figured you had sold most of these by now
They're still hanging around; I never know what to do with them lol
I agree the z400 is one of the most reliable quads you can get, full pipe, jetted or upgraded carb, big radiator, and good intake, the quad will last for a long time, they run good with the 434 big bore kit
Nice collection my favorite are the 250r the banshee and the yz
You could try pulling the spark plug out and see if it spins over freely. If it still struggles you know it’s not just the compression making it drag.
Turns over nice and smooth with no plug :/
Being a Blaster guy, the Crispy Chicken is my favorite! I like the upgrade talk with it, and hoping you go to a wider axle. Would love to have it and it would be great for our home made track across the street. It covers almost a half a block! Love the builds Mike ! BulTaco
Get one of those go cart starters for the raptor the impact ones might help ya til the rings get worn in really good.
I had an old XT 500 and we called it old faithful, if it had fuel it it went! ❤
Those are the best machines man
Hey Mike, your collection is awesome, I’ve seen that your unfamiliar with the ole Yamaha warrior 350.
THANKS
I hope you can keep all your quads you take better care of them then almost anyone
What would be a good 450 to get and build to upgrade from a 400ex
Omg! Dude! The music and editing is off the chain 😮 ❤😊
Z400 Mike is exciting. I've been thinking about another quad, but I'll just keep going with my 416 Hornet. Get the brakes upgraded suspension is stock. I super got to get that done. it's only money, but love this vid man
@@justincarlfilms I was gunna say the same thing, editing and music are SICK!!! Love you too Justin Carl lol
@Jesiah-Rod88 Thanks, bro 🙏
I appreciate all the kind words and the support with comments bro! The Z400 is going to be a good one
Cool vid. That Banshee is Flippin Sweet
That would be a very cool build to do!
Sick machines. I have a real soft spot for tecate4s. Always wanted one. Next to impossible to find. Cant wait for a z400 vid!🔥🔥
I've wanted a video like this for quite some time. Stoked to see it! Love every video you put out. Keep on brotha 🤘
you doing good, keep up the good work. cant wait for next season
Bro you should do some riding content on the bikes too. They always sound sooo good. Wouldn’t mind a lil 10-15 min trail action
Hey Mike love your videos man hope everything your striving for works out your a very hard worker
I would love to see you build a Surron and see how you feel about it!
You can see this dude is sad to see this stuff go. Michael sabo your a true genuine fella love the videos but it's a shame there isn't more good luck with all your projects. 👍
Thank you for the love Doug! It's sad to see them go, but it's also going to be good seeing the joy they bring the next owners.
If you buy a rifle that can out shoot the shooter, you're never gonna really learn.
my smr pipe is showing up in a few days...Scott is the man. Ken o Conor is local to me he does all my machine work
Both great guys! Congrats on the pipe man, I'm excited for you
@MichaelSabo luckly cpi has top ends cases won't show up till feb.
just wondering if the crank has moved on the pin with the yamaha thing? all the high hp bikes seem to have welded pins …..just a thought
should build a snowmachine or (snowmobile) for the lower 48 folks. love what your doin I watch religiously.
thats some great editing, love your cinematics
Wooooo that vette 🔥🔥
Rick flair woo
Happy New year Dude
Quality collection Mate 💯👌👌
