@briandouglasahern7067 Once that was my impression too; I got that impression from Mel Blanc's superb impersonations of Robinson on Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies. I literally didn't see EGR himself till I was in my mid-20s. Edit: But yeah, he could create characters of all sorts.
It was oddly believable that he would be offended if they said something bad about his wife. After all, she was his fantasy so he was the person to dictate her qualities.
An offbeat little story, weird and heartwarming with a fine and touching performance by EGR.
Wonderful. Two fine talents. Robinson also played two roles in a later episode 😊
That was wonderful. Such great acting and writing.
Excellent.
They truly captured the "lonely"...
This was a nice one.
Binge listening during pandemic😱 Aug 2020. Oakland CA
Great story❤!
This reminded me of the "Tuttle" episode of the TV series "M*A*S*H."
So unused to Edward G. Robinson playing a sympathetic character. What a wonderful episode.
He's played many sympathetic characters. Our Vines Have Tender Grapes, The Red House, The Woman In The Window, Scarlet Street, Soylent Green...
@@acmarston... Double Indemnity, The Stranger...
@@acmarston ... Thunder in the City...
Sorry, I keep remembering another one every now and then.

Good show. My how times have changed - he had to prove that he was married before they would give him a raise!
Yes. There was a sense that a married man was more stable and dependable. A single man can always roam around so were not seen as trustworthy.

ERMINTRUDE BOVICK!!
What?
Sounded more like Oymentsu Boyvek. 😂 Even the actor had to pause for that one.
Talking of stupid moves ...
