FANTASTIC....I seen them twice in mid 70's LA....n your nailed the strumming pattern.....plus you look just like a young J. Ramone.....with out a head of course......do more Ramones songs
If I'm ever down in a rut or going in circles noodling practicing scales hitting dead ends I play Ramones songs and f****** everything lightens up gets me back on track Johnny Ramone's so inspirational !! 💥 Nice fiddle nice jam 👍
This one definitely isn't easy, and you pulled it off! I honestly don't know how Johnny managed to play this song live, especially at the 1978-era speeds. Not to mention this was their closing song for a while, which makes it even more difficult to imagine.
Yeah it’s a really tough one. Regarding having it at the end of the set, Johnny was just something else haha. Covering the It’s Alive version will be a fun time..
@@HardlyRamone I didn't know you were planning on covering It's Alive - can't wait to see! Matching that show's speed takes a lot of endurance, especially for an entire set... I honestly don't know how he did it. Honestly though, I find the Loco Live speed to be even more difficult to match, even though Johnny had long since abandoned his precise 8th note downstrokes for the sloppier and slightly inconsistent gallop. But I was surprised by how tricky it was to keep up whenever I tried to play along to it.
@@Blaze850 the full It’s Alive cover will come after the Leave Home covers and the two Ramones originals off the Rock n Roll High School soundtrack. The strumming patterns are a little easier at times on Its Alive, but the tempo increase makes it harder regardless. And yeah, in a similar vein, the super fast gallop of the later years takes a lot of stamina too. Even less 8ths, but the bursts of downstrokes are so fast it still takes a real toll. Johnny also developed a strong separation of his fretting and strumming hands, and it can be difficult to copy the exact way he did his chord changes later on. I’ll probably put up some live 90s Ramones guitar covers in the future, just to showcase that side of Johnny’s style.
@@HardlyRamone Johnny's Dad might have been onto something after all, sending Johnny out to play Baseball *on a broken foot.* Broken foot? TAKE THAT CHALLENGE!
I agree I saw them in 77 n 78 in L A and they played at breakneck speed they'd finish one song then 1-2-3-4 right into the next for like 1 1/2 hrs.....I've watched tons of covers of this song and no one does it right this guy nails it........if you don't play it as fast as Johnny it doesn't sound right the sonics of the guitar off
Ha, was wondering if anybody would ever catch that. Totally unnecessary to play it like that, but funny. I'm always sticking those little things in there, like fretting the G string too sharp while jumping backwards for the intro of "Rockaway Beach" in the Chicago '79 cover. It's in both my track and the original recording, lol.
You've nailed, the speed, the stroke, the tone, all of it. Great stuff, thanks for posting.
With the Ramones music.. we're really a Happy family

Eres asombroso bro csmr 🔥🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
What do you think is the hardest Ramones song to play?
x1.25 speed: It's Alive 1977 onwards.
x1.5 speed: We're Outta Here 1996 I guess? Lol.
looking back on this I like how u intentionally mess up at the beginning on the slide to the 9th fret. sounds just like the recording
