I challenge you to a bass battle! I'll lose for sure, but I still challenge you!👺🤘
The only cost is 10 000 hours of work...
but the title says you left mistakes in, but this is a bit self-deprecating.
e: I did enjoy the video but I had to say it I am sorry
e clarification: you played your way in your way, this comment is about the video title and the OP comment.
Can you play IVE GOT TO BE ME, pleaseee? Steve Lawrence version, for me is the continuation of this song, and viceversa
with all the mistakes this is close to perfect!
Dear Charles, I am a 43-year-old guy and knowing your work gave me back the desire to play, you are an inspiration for many young and not so young, thank you!
I started in my mid 40s too. Take it slow and easy and learn the right way. It will go a long way when you get into the more difficult stuff.
That's great to hear, glad you've started playing again!
wow just look at the sentence you typed, your generation is the most respectful generation ever, I wish Gen Z and Gen Alpha is more smarter, but yea it's supposed to be about bass, and I'm a 14yo beginner bassist, let's improve together.
I’m 41, and Charles makes me wanna throw my guitar in the bin.
I had the opposite reaction lol
I was expecting some sort of mistake compilation or something, instead I got what sounded like perfection, best 'clickbait' I've ever seen/heard lol
MAybe but perfect logic. He's not lying. If they were no mistakes anyway, then saying he left them all in is not false.
The video title was originally something about Frank Sinatra sounds amazing on the bass.
Not clickbait bro, I spotted atleast 2 "mistakes" which is more to "muted note" here: 1:26 1:57
The quotations around 'clickbait' are to indicate I didnt mean it was actual clickbait.
A mistake by Charles sounds like it belongs in whatever he is playing.
Wow! No backing track or looping. Just pure, clean, Charles! Well done, my friend. I am a 65 year old bass player, and only dream of playing like you when I grow up!
Guess you could say he did it his way
I'm with you!
‘My Way’ was played at my Grandad’s funeral. This reminded me how much he encouraged me to pursue my career as a professional musician and how much I loved him. Thank you, Charles ❤️🙏
A famous funeral song. ❤
Those first notes just hit so good. On top of, I may be deaf, but I did not hear any mistakes.
Me neither xD
Right...literally no mistakes.
I did note at least one, but it was tiny. I've been playing bass for over 35 years, and been a musician for 50, and have to agree, Charles is stellar, and totally inspirational. Wish I played that well.
I found one mistake: I don’t have a bass in my hands. 😂
Charles with mistakes sounds better than me when i play perfect notes
Is there still a doubt Charles is the best Bassist in the world? Loved this!
yes, he is not the best in the world
@@VolodosIsTheGoat Your opinion.
@@kebo57 yeah I guess but skill wise there are better
Not really @@VolodosIsTheGoat
@@James-Cook I take it you dont listen to a lot of bassists?
Your unedited clips without recorded backing tracks are my favourite. Pure Charles.
Nothing but pure, unadulterated skill, amazing work as always Charles!
Thanks!
Amazing. Charles isn’t just a bassist. He’s a composer. And doing some Sinatra. Rad!! Beautiful once again.
This song was originally written by Gilles Thibaut and Claude François for the Lyrics and the music was witten by Jacques Revaux and Claude François. Singed by Claude François in 1967. Then Paul Anka adapted this song in 1968 and Frank Sinatra sang it one year later.
Oups, sorry, French song fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comme_d%27habitude ;)
It was re-lyric-ed for and popularized by Frank Sinatra, but was originally a French song that they just yanked caused it sounded cool.
Sounds like "Even a Fool Learns To Love" by Davie Jones to me.
No need for fancy camera tricks when you nail it every time 🤘
You did it your way
The beauty of playing "I did it my way" in your own way... Stop it, Charles, I can't handle this 😭
Actually this is Come d'Habitude by Claude François
@@fynii9478 nerd
My Dad would have loved this. Awesome work!...... Rest in Peace Daddy.
And Charles did it, his way~
Amazing playing as usual, Charles. ❤
I love it. Nothing wrong with fully edited and produced videos, but I find something more intimate like this just lets your playing shine through. Thank you for sharing!
I agree. Imagine seeing this live!
@@ShannonRamosI think that's why I like this format so much, it feels like I'm right there with Charles, imperfections and all (not that I notice any btw, just fuck him for playing this clean).
"i lEfT aLl mY mIsTaKeS iN tHiS oNe" *makes none* 😂😂. Beautiful playing and thanks for showing the world how much Schecter basses rock.
"i lEfT aLl mY mIsTaKeS iN tHiS oNe" Charles did it his way!
Dear Charles, I am a 65 year old guy and knowing your work made me understand that i'm less than a 10 year old when it comes to playing bass. You bastard sir😎
Very nice. I think I prefer this one-cut style over many of the videos. As far as mistakes go, they may not be what you planned, but they are the art and soul of it. Also, I didn't notice more than 3 wrong taps in the first viewing, but only because you primed me to listen for them.
When I heard those iconic first bars... I was like No Way :O Charles couldn't be playing this... But yes, you did, and "You Played It Your Way"
I think chords on the upper register and some pinch harmonics thrown here and there are the most soothing noises you can make with a bass.
"Comme d'habitude" from Claude François sounds so great when you have it "Your Way" Charles.
😁
I love how you got so good at bass, that when you play "simpler" sections, you can just play around with every note's dynamics, articularion and tempo. That's the impressive part to me.
That sounded incredibly good, now I wonder.
Why is bass so underrated? You are a great example for all bassists to follow.❤
Awesome ! We all gotta agree he's an amazing bassist
Charles don’t care. He does it his way.
One of the best arrangements of My Way that I have heard, absolutely beautiful!
Mate there's absolutely no mistakes. 2 or 3 fret buzz are not mistakes. That's the issue with social media, everything is shown at the perfection but it is not the case in reality. You are very talented mate and it was perfect
My Nono's favorite song and artist. I sang it with him at times. This was also played at his funeral being his favorite song and all. I wish I could just share this with the dead. He would have loved it, I'm sure. Charles you are incredible keep it up ❤
Just... yeah. A perfect rendition dropped at the perfect time. Thanks Mr B.
You are very literally extra-ordinary, thank you for moving our ears and expanding our sense of sound everytime...
Definitely one of the true music maestros of our time, once again thank you for your dedication ✨✨
Bro, what mistakes? It just sounded like a passionate, human performance to me. Well played, sir.
Beautiful. Would love to see more like this
Amazing playing, comme d’habitude!

Чарльз здравия тебе! Ты молодец! В России тебя любят! Постоянно смотрю твои ролики и поражаюсь твоему мастерству!!! Так держать.👍👋
Gave up playing when I had my first kid. I don't regret giving something up for my son, but regret it was bass I gave up.
I have started playing again now that they are older and moving on in life. Thanks to your videos that I stumbled upon looking for something else. Thank you Charles! You are very inspiring to watch and listen to. Thank you!
Dude, always a pleasure to listen to yah. I also like how you keep up the originality.
In this era of ai, auto tune and algorithms, this boomer appreciates these last celebrations of genuine human ability.
I'm the, "I didn't notice any mistakes" button
I do not press you 😅
I've been playing for over 40 years. Your playing makes me cry. More power to you,Charles

You are so very talented and inspiring!
I listened through it 3 or 4 times, and could not find the mistakes. So, I just sang along with it and enjoyed it immensely.

Just wonderful. I always look forward to your videos. ❤
Absolutely brilliant as usual. Lots of emotion on this one too. A good direction for your playing I think. More interpretations of great melodies please!
Beautiful!! You're a huge inspiration to many and proof of what can be done through dedication and woodshed.
Absolutely beautiful. More of these raw takes please. 🙏
What an artist you are! Thank you for that beautiful moment...
I was about to look up some bass music and then the notification dropped. 😮
Incredibly angelic and beautiful, amazing work as always
Yet another beautiful rendition of a classic piece, played only in a way you can capture. Thank you Charles, that was nothing short of angelic.
Amazing across the board, such emotional performance without 1 word spoken, yet the bass speaks very clearly 👏 👏👏👏👏
always a joy to listen!
Perfect melody! Great technique! Please do it more and more
Jesus man…your playing is just SO damn clean. You are legitimately rivaling Victor for the greatest technical bass player. Well done!
BRAVO!!!
