      There are lots of systems to replaster in accordance with BS6576 and every wall is different. Different companies like different systems it’s what your comfortable with guaranteeing

    The video is from 1995. This guy inspired Peter Ward. He stopped drilling and injection in Lewisham. Your right though they did mention in the 1700s. They said it didn't exist. They were right.

    Hi Sam a great video. The guy Mike Parrett has written a book Diagnosing Damp published by RICS. Its a great book and in my opinion essential reading. Thanks again Paul

      Sorry I was interested in taking a course to learn more about damp and moisture. Where do you start or where is the best place thanks

      @@Malky555 It would depend on which level you are at, the PCA do a Technicians course which is the best at the moment but you. need to have been working in the industry for a couple of years. there are also maunfacturers courses, Safeguard and soveriegn both do 1 day courses. there is also an NVQ level 2 that is run by City & Guilds and this can be done online with site visits but again you have to have some experience to qualifi for this.

      @@dampsam thank you for the reply. I have ten years as a joiner working in social housing and I have been recently employed as maintenance officer. Damp/ condensation is a major issue. I was just off the phone from PCA it’s a lot a lot of work plus am situated in N Ireland. I think the NVQ at the minute could be an option. I would like just a better knowledge of it and your videos definitely help . But in some cases of damp I am still scratching my head 😆

      You sound ideal to do the courses and would make a good surveyor once you start learning. timber treatments would be easy for you. get signed up led you wouldnt regret it.@@Malky555

    The misdiagnosis is rife within Local Authorities as I regularly see the wrong work being asked of me.
    I'm told some of them have had damp training but it's clearly not to the level of a qualified damp specialist

    @dampsam I know the "Rising Damp - Does It Exist" debate rages on - so can you find me a single UA-cam video that actually features Rising Damp...I can't...
    One minute people say "It's common"...then next "Its rare"...

    • @dampsam
      @dampsam  7 місяців тому

      Most property’s have either a dpc built in since 1919 or have had a retro fit one done that’s why it’s rare these days

    Boy this is a slow video mate. I had to get more gin 3 times! I need to find the video you're talking about as there's too little to get a feel for what he says. Apart from the utter stupidity of drilling breeze blocks in a fire place, this is a solid brick wall....how do you even begin to inject a solid wall..?
