177hp Mitsubishi Pajero winning the 690hp 4WD Race in Gran Turismo 2

- This is a max upgraded Pajero beating the 690hp limit 4WD challenge race in Gran Turismo 2. I didn't even think this was impossible until I managed to dive the AI in the last sector on my first attempt, realising it was easy enough to block until the finish line. This took around 30 minutes to win.
The Pajero can only reach 177hp, starting with 63hp when you buy it. All performance upgrades + the highest turbo (stage 2) will put it at 177hp. Super soft tyres were also fitted, and a fully customisable gearbox (set to auto setup 4) as well as pretty much every other thing I could buy for it, but I didn't adjust anything apart from the gearing.
This is an NTSC copy emulated on Duckstation - on NTSC, this car is available day 1 for just under 10 grand. I bought it as a joke as it leaves you with no money for upgrades, and you have to head straight to the Sunday Cup, but you can actually complete a LOT of races with this thing if you upgrade it properly. - Ігри
thanks for clicking on this video in your recommended fellas. didn't think it'd blow up this much lmfao
You're welcome. :D
Very nostalgic video,i like to prepare the "SLOW OR SLOWEST CARS" too, to put the money and habilities against the Wheel to race the fastest cars in GT2, and the success is in "ALMOST" all of the races without the necessity of bad sportsmanship or be a cheater Smashing the opposition against the wall. Size is not document and GT2 is the proof of that i'm saying. Very good skills,Man. I have Playstation one and play GT2 for years and made car projects like this 177hp turbo Pajero mini VR,turbo and NA civics AGAINST supras,jaguars,600hp Corvettes and Mustangs in the GT CUP 591HP EVENT, listers and rufs. Subarus, turbo cougars,490hp turbo Intrepid RT and 411hp 240sx and 464hp Silvia s15 against Mine's Evo, Tom's Supras,Tommykaira R's and fucking hks drag 180sx. The freedom of create car projects that makes GRAN TURISMO 2 the BEST OF THE BEST RACING GAMES OF PLAYSTATION ONE. VERY NICE AND NOSTALGIC PRO LIKE RACING VIDEO. WE ARE LEGENDS,MAN
Grew up with GT2 I still have GT4 on PS2
It's a neat video
Сколько ночей ушло на эту игру
"I have this old Mitsubishi that'll smoke your Subaru"
"oh really? You own a Lancer Evo?"
"Not quite..."
It'll smoke your GTR.
Honda Civic to the front
The Pajero was actually a desert rally monster. There are a couple special models that were pretty damn cool. Just absolute ass to operate because they chug premium fuel.
@@xAKALISx It says Pajero mini, which means its the Kei Car with a 660 cc engine :D
@@stingray_rc ahh really???
The thought of a Pajero Mini blasting past me at 109, is actually kinda terrifying....
It can go that fast in the first place!?
@@haaxxx9 According to the video... Although we had a Pajero Sport some time ago, and I wouldn't dream pushing it past 80 😂
@@abra_kadavr The last time i heard someone drove Pajero Sport to 180 kmph, the car crashed. The driver survived, but passengers at the back died tho.
@aljaz i had a 1980 triumph spitfire, when it hit top speed of 105ish the bonnet started to open and bounce up and down 😂
felt like things where about tostart flying off bro
@@verifeli Pajero Sport 😂

This whole race I was like "It's competitive but I'm not seeing how it's gonna win..." I'll be damned...
The moment I saw it was Laguna Seca I knew this would be decided in the S turn and the sharp turn before the finish line, amazing race!
yep lmao, saw that turn coming up and thought "watch those idiots"
I also knew a considerable amount of blocking would be needed to hold first after the last left before the finish.
“Hold my beer I’m getting the Pajero”
Nicely done! The apexes were damn near perfect and the divebomb on the corkscrew was on the money.
This has gotta be a troll comment lmao dude cut the entire corkscrew
Zanardi would approve.
@@schulzz1100 Who doesn't?
@@typhoon-7 Came here to say this.

Stage 3 weight reduction is a hell of a drug!
super soft racing slick tyres
This is the dude blocking you on gt sports and gt7 online races😂
This is exactly how Lando Norris feels before every race.
Sad but true😔
clearly he needs to listen to some Stone Temple Pilots to get pumped up and bully his way through the pack 😎
Love the Dukes of Hazard approach to the corkscrew on the final lap! 🤣
Hahaha same. With that many cars in front I simply knew that was a place something special was definitely going to happen :D Didn't disappoint. What a mega job he did.
When the Dakar roots kick in
That’s how I always did that corner as a kid haha
Same lol, just sent it
@@Twangabilly straight line is faster lol
The only guy I know who really deserves the Super License
Well, I think International A License is enough 😅
3:24 That is what I call: "DEFEND THE POSITION". Amazing race!
“Remember kid: heroes get remembered but legends never die.”
The Sandlot 🥲
I love how the input shows you basically never lifted the foot off the gas pedal. Great driving
And that's why small 250cc bikes beat liter bikes on track all the time. For this exact reason.
Went FULL send in the corkscrew
Absolute Irohazaka moment
This is even madder than doing the GT4 Truck Races with the Daihatsu Midget. Unlike the trucks, these opponents actually have decent handling.
Lets be realistic here. The Mitsubishi badge adds another 600hp
Brings back memories, these are OG strategies from back in the day, haha. Best way to win this circuit when underpowered, and the blocking can be abused so well, haha. So fun to watch, makes me want to get a PS and load it up.
Honestly? One of the most impressive videos from GT2 I have ever seen! :D You did incredible well, I love such challenges and I've always been into trying to beat powerfull cars with something much "slower". I think you could make a cool series out of this, using some other cars in other races (if it will be possible). I've played GT2 my whole childhood and early teenage years. One of the best racing games IMO. It has special vibe to it, very interesting cars, it's a shame that it lacks some content like drag racing, but it still rocks!
You can sort of drag race on the long straights of Test Course.
He was 5/6 with half a lap left and I was like "there's no way he pulls this off". Then that dive bomb on the last turn gave me the biggest smile. "That crazy bastard really did it"
I used to like racing the Toyota vitz fully tuned against higher powered cars in Paris on gt4
That was so much more intense than I was anticipating
I’d love to see a 1986 Toyota Tercel 4WD Wagon beating some Ferraris and Lamborghinis. This was awesome.
Not even Alex Zanardi could pull such a beautiful move in The Corkscrew.
Yeah, but Valentino Rossi and Casey Stoner could. Look up those highlights sometime.
@@thenewmedic i remember that to this day. That season was legendary.
Grosjean gave it a go
With the photo finish too! Love it. This game brings back so much nostalgia.
GT2 was what got me into cars in the first place. Still the most fun game in the series, imho
Me too :)
genuinely impressive! the fastest I've ever seen a Pajero go lmao
2:55 DAT JUMP THO!
Lmaoooo
It's funny because even in real life the Pajero would have handled that jump in the exact same way and kept on truckin
The Evolution was a monster, thank you Dakar
As a kid I remember the graphics being a lot better than this haha!
Dude that is some incredible driving
Still one of the best soundtracks of any video game.
you mean diving
@@dannanova5827 haha kinda, but it's not online so anything goes
Hahaha! That is so good! I bet your mouth was completely agape after the corkscrew and probably opened even further on that last corner. You were probably making some crazy noises, too! Good job, mate. I love this
This was a surprisingly wholesome video seeing a tiny car win against such odds :|
I swear this was a rollercoaster, when I saw the title I was like "yeah no way this is for real" then at the first takeover I was "well maybe this is for real" then for 3/4 of the video I was convinced you were going to do a glitch or the AI would crash somewhere.
That is a damn fine race.
I am not shocked, since I know the game well and realize that AI in that game do not like curved roads, which gives advantage to an actual skilled player. More or less, hats off, I still believe it was not easy for you!
Man, seeing that Mitsubishi Pajero absolutely sending it at 3:01 hits different
The things I watch while drinking a beer at 7am on a Wednesday morning...
You go Takumi!!!
Bring back the legends! GT1/2/3 for life!
Lap one was polite to the opponents.
Lap two was a wake up call. Damn, good stuff there
The first thought I had before watching the video was: "it must be the Laguna Seca circuit", because only there you can pass faster cars easily, hehe
Some fine driving to keep up with those behemoths! I love it when the algorithm pushes videos that deserve it
I respect it. I have to do silly things like this too just for a challenge. I've been playing this game for 20 years and I think I've beaten every race with every car it will allow.
Video or didn't happen

it took me 25 years to realize that the opponents models turn into pixel porridge when they are far from the eye. Only the hero car model remains the same, that's very smart
The idea that this video was made for anybody other than my father in the early 2000s is absurd. ❤️
Driver skill + Laguna Seca. Nice.
Showed up in recommendations. Didn't disappointed at all. That tiny kei car smoked a lot of JDM monsters just put a big grin on my face :D
(Tiny kei car, but still expensive as hell in real world)
Keep it up!
That was some epic driving ! Well done !!
Mother and father going on a vacation take wrong turn and end up winning race accidently
The dive-bomb at the Corkscrew is lovingly referred to "the Zanardi" Because of a similar maneuver by race car drive Alex Zanardi by the staff at Laguna.
Thank you for this video. It’s excellent.
No idea why I clicked on this, but I definitely laughed watching that cube run down those Skylines up the hill
Mad lad absoulutely sent it in the corkscrew. The Mini had incredible traction!
Awesome race. I can't believe the Pajero has barely outlasted some serious Japanese machines of the day!!!!
I miss this game old times, but that was a great race with the Pajero 🤟
Very well done sir! I did something very similar with the TommyKaira III in the MR series where the car barely stood a chance and I barely won, and the best part is that I saved the replay.
The small and winding track doesn't allow the faster cars to actively utilize their speed. Glorious.
This song will be etched into my head for the rest of my life. Nice nostalgia trip here
Wow, that brought me down the memory lane, when I was trying to win races in GT2 like that. The main difference is that you are successful while I was not. Great driving. :D
Truly impressive! Wow! Also thanks for the nostalgia :)
Such a great game! I remember building goofy cars to attempt stuff like this all day long.
I can imagine the driver of the Pajero thru the corkscrew being like "AWW FAAAAARK YEA!!” and he fully sends it past everyone
Turbo Power
This is amazing work and wisdom ❤
That corkscrew dive made drivers go Nani?? Hayai!. Initial D driving level right there!
Amazing skills! This was awesome.
That was good! Wasn't seeing the win coming until the last few bends
The track knowledge is so much that even copies the A.I. going out of track
For a game that released in 1999 it looks and plays pretty damn well. GT2 was ahead of its time.
GO! GO! LITTLE PAJERO. Amazing stuff great job 👍
“Looks like your ordinary piece of crap from the outside, but whoever's behind the wheel is a demon.”
Some very tactical blocking there. VERY well done!
I knew exactly what you were going to do. I pulled that move on the corkscrew many times when I was a kid.
I had so many doubts, and I’ll be damned if I’m not crazy impressed! Sick!! 😂😂
you change your profile pic after ive been binging that song for the past month. this is an amazing video

I forgot Stone Temple Pilots were in the OST. That ending matched perfectly "here I come, I come, I come..."
man the fuckin nostalgia.. I really miss you dad, We had so much fun back in the day together playing these games.
My man just yeeted through the corkscrew like it was nothing.
That select sound right at the beginning almost made me cry
Nice driving and good to hear that track again l.
The last corkscrew was epic! ❤
A reminder of much simpler times. I like the nice touch at the end with the menus
Without some dirty tricks that was impossible (that corkscrew in the final lap made a huge difference), however, without some skills it couldn't be done either, this race reminded me about that time that I won the Laguna Seca 200mile race with a Taeivon FTO angains GT500 cars, but this race I've just seen was by far crazier and more challenging, nice work 👍
Taeivon FTO drives like shit because its drivetrain is wrong.
I once won special stage route 5 endurance race with a Daishin Silvia. I used racing hard tyres and 2 stop strategy. 2 of the opponents were Toyota GT-ones as far as I know.
@@RizalBatheki that's a real tough one, was wallgrinding enabled? 🤣
Winning is winning!!! Lol
@@s70driver2005 you got that right Dom 🤣
What I love about this track are the two corners after the corkscrew. Take them right you can make up seconds on the others.
I loved doing this type of race with the Nissan March Turbo 😂
Went from “It’s slow as balls how’s it gonna win?” to “Oh his handling is stellar he shall destroy them”
Holy mackerel, that race got more exciting/intense after going from 6th to 5th & beyond. It was like an F1 moment. Cheers! 🎉 🍻🥂💯
The song "Sex Type Thing" from Stone Temple Pilots just add the good vibe to this video.
Takes me back to the time When I owned a PS1 and played lots of GT1, literally grinding races till I get money to buy the Suzuki Escudo.
GT2 with STP in the background. Greatest times ever.
This video reminds me of the time where I used the Volkswagen Lupo to win at Special Stage Route 5 from the Tuned Turbo Car Cup. It was just as tense as this race.
Absolutely incredible
Nice driving skill bro!
That little guy is absolutely ripping up the track. Look at him go!
The good old days where going off the track does not slow you down
My old man had a v6 Pajero, I fucking loved it so much.
It ain't about power, just balance, Keiichi said this, pure Truth
Back in the day, I thought this looked so real 😂
DO NOT SKIP TO THE END OF THE VIDEO!!! WELL WORTH WATCHING!!!
Man that was awesome, i could only imagine the screaming and cheering at the TV on that last lap!!!
Takes me back to the good ol' days of gran turismo
great work
That was impressive!
Great racing and stone temple pilots 😎well done ,perfect mix of strategy and skill ,great game all round
One of the races of all time
