I did rent a scooter while I was there, and while it's fun, I made sure to drive slowly and carefully, particularly on the downhill stretches. About turning off the engine while going downhill - I personally didn’t do that. Instead, I relied on engine braking (by shifting to a lower gear) to help control my speed while descending. It’s safer than turning off the engine, as it ensures you have more control, especially on steeper slopes. A few tips: Be mindful of the weather - roads can get slippery when it rains, so avoid riding in bad weather.
