Hey there, very nice video and blog. Me and my Friend are also planning to visit Nainital and hire a scooter to roam around the surroundings like Bhimtal and Almora and was wondering if the hill roads are safe to ride there and you went there on scooter? Did you switch off the engine and rode on downhill there? Need some tips, Regards, Kusum.
@@kusumrao4617 Hey Kusum, thanks for the kind words about the video and blog! I’m glad you're planning a trip to Nainital - it's such a beautiful place. As for the roads in Nainital, they can be a bit tricky, especially when navigating around the hilly areas like Bhimtal and Almora. The roads themselves are generally safe, but they can be narrow, winding, and sometimes steep, so you'll want to stay cautious while riding. I did rent a scooter while I was there, and while it's fun, I made sure to drive slowly and carefully, particularly on the downhill stretches. About turning off the engine while going downhill - I personally didn’t do that. Instead, I relied on engine braking (by shifting to a lower gear) to help control my speed while descending. It’s safer than turning off the engine, as it ensures you have more control, especially on steeper slopes. A few tips: Be mindful of the weather - roads can get slippery when it rains, so avoid riding in bad weather. Check the condition of the scooter before renting it - make sure the brakes are functioning well, as you'll need them a lot on those descents. Wear proper gear - especially a helmet! The roads may look calm, but accidents can happen quickly in the hills. Stay on the lookout for local traffic - sometimes, vehicles take the curves quickly, so make sure you're prepared for that. Take breaks - don't rush. It's a hilly area, and taking it slow and steady will ensure a safe and enjoyable ride. Have fun exploring the beautiful hills, and stay safe! Let me know if you have more questions?
