Well the thing about power supplies facing down vs up. If you’re a seller I always recommend facing the PSU fan up pulling air from inside the case when possible .When repairing other people’s builds I’ve noticed anytime time there was a dead power supply it was due to being caked with dust and fur on the air filter . Lots of people like to set their towers on the floor( not recommend) The Tower sucks up everything like a vacuum difference is when the inside gets too hot people will notice performance loss because say the front fans or cpu fans are clogged causing thermal throttling. The power supply will normally keep chugging along until it can’t. It will suffer with that heat issue until one day it just stops working. Some air even warm vs no air is better. So in my experience a PC has had PSUs sucking air from inside of the case and exhausting since I been building back in 1998.. The best solution I’ve seen so far is Skytechs maintenance guide. I may have to try that myself. The thing is I’m in the business to sell gaming PCs for side hustle not repairing my own shit lol. Once I’ve sold my units I don’t want to see these customers again unless it’s for a upgrade or new PC for a family or friend recommendations . This configuration is one of my best selling combos . $900 it’s a steak considering you can get it shipped nation wide. I sell mines for $775
Got a SkyTech Omega for my birthday a couple years back. Build is inside an InWin 303 white case and consisted of a z390 mainboard, 2x8GB DDR4 3200CL16 RAM, Intel Core i7-9700k, 120mm AiO (not great but at stock speeds it keeps it under wraps), nVidia GeForce RTX 2070 8GB, 512GB ssd, 3x 120mm fans, 802.11ac WiFi adapter (PCIe card w/ m.2 wifi card), 700w Gold PSU. Was very well assembled temps are more than reasonable and performance was right where it should have been. Came in a nice bag too. My roommate's PC had been acting up for a couple years so this past Christmas when my awesome fam got me an 11th gen i7 rig I put the SSD and GPU from the SkyTech into it and put the 2060 from the new rig and his drives into the Skytech and gave it to him. Still a daily driver and still working great. The best thing about their tech support is I've never had any use for it, because nothing from the computer has had even the slightest of problems, that being said I've also heard they are in the upper range of system integrator tech support. So if someone doesn't want to build their own rig or doesn't know how but wants a solid performing rig for a reasonable price I have no issues dropping the SkyTech name in the mix of options.
The difference on their Intel based machines with duel channel isn't as high as it is with AMD but it for certain helps, the quantity of ram definitely helps a lot though especially with games that will use 8-12GB of ram. The SkyTech Omega I had came with 16GB and it was a 1080p-1440p high settings beast of a machine, even streamed quite well.
Hey there hope the pc is doing great for you guys I am the QC tech that inspected the pc you guys happened to get. Things to address, about the power supply yes we do mount them in that orientation and we know that they generally should have the fan facing down but our build team is instructed to have the fan up to help with cable management from the psu. For the ram having dual channel would be great but that’s something out of my control as well. 😃
would be great in future video is to compare gameplay with extra ram, if a pc comes in with 8gb, to show why it's important to upgrade. apart from that, it was a good video and is a pretty cool prebuilts.
Seems a little over priced. You can get a 6600 for less than 260 bucks. Only 8 gigs of ram for what will cost 1000 bucks after tax. 16 gigs of ram cost less than 60 bucks so they save less than 30 bucks to ship a system with 8 gigs of ram. Gpu’s are cheap now both new and especially used. Prebuilts are still pricing gpu’s like they are selling for way over msrp. Build your own.
I bought this pc for my son, filled with dust pretty quickly, I reversed the front fans so the dust filter actually does something useful now instead of trapping dust inside...
The TG series from HP are good. But i think it’s just the right time if anyone wants a pc parts are at an all time low.I’m seeing 2060 for $275 $249.00-79 3050s,prebuilts are piling up and everyone is selling low.
skytech has 10/10 customer service. I bought a higher end system from them and it came with a bad ram stick. They swapped out my kit with a brand new one and it was a super easy process.
I had an Omega I got for my birthday back in 2020, came with 16GB (2x8gb 3200MHz CL16) added another 2x8Gb same rated speeds about 2 months after i got it but I streamed with it on the base 16Gb and had no issues at all with it. It was a Core i7-9700k though so a bit beefier chip might have been the reason as well.
kinda off topic but fortnite runs like hot ass on my pc, i dont know why either cause i have some pretty good specs. I got a r5 3600, rx 590, and 16gb of ram. Fortnite ran great before, i would get 144fps on medium without any stutter like 6 months ago, now it just freezes up and stutters on low settings. Not sure whats up with this and yes my drivers are updated

The PSU is pulling air down while the GPU is trying to pull that SAME AIR up. If you flip the PSU I guarantee you will see a drop in GPU temps even if it's only a couple degrees. ONLY exception is if the PSU fan is off because the system isn't pulling enough juice warrant active cooling of the power supply. This tells you that whoever put this together was trained incorrectly and there is nobody double checking their work.

There is no desktop 3050 Ti. Laptop GPUs always use less power and sometimes have cores disabled so it's common for Laptop GPUs to have at least 20% less performance than their desktop counterparts. So yes the Laptop 3050 Ti is worse than the Desktop 3050 but it IS faster than the Laptop 3050... and this is normal. It has always been this way.
