@@MichaelSheffield-ox8yd Like all of us, he has blind spots. We all try to avoid blind spots, but we are human. Notice how his opinion of Biden has shifted based on his own beliefs. His view of Florida was contradicted by, of all people, Bill Maher: Gore lost the state.
Something Momus2024 does not appreciate: based on his voting preferences, he should be like Tribe. He should be CELEBRATING the lawfare! Denounce the dismissal of the documents case by A TRUMP APPOINTEE!
But he does not. We all should appreciate that. Not that you disagree.

It is always funny how the Democrats focus all of their ethics complaints against Thomas or Alito for flying an upside down flag, but carefully ignore the millions of dollars that Sotomayer made from her book deals and the conflict of interest that she had representing the same publisher who published her book.

The courts are supposed to stand up for the people, not vice versa. Courts and government need to constantly prove they are fulfilling their responsibilities to their people. Honest scrutiny is essential to a healthy legal system. Not questioning is to turn our legal system into a default religion. Demanding blind obediant faith without evidence or contradiction.
I think that most people are short-sighted or don't realize that sometimes what you want isn't what is best or legal for everyone else. To use a sport analogy: Stop rooting for YOUR team to win no matter what. Instead, cheer for the GAME to be fair meaning all participants following the same established rules,, and well played by ALL sides. Does it really matter if YOUR team wins the championship if it destroys the sport to never be played again?

Why wouldn't you use your logic, knowledge, reason and persuasive powers to influence your own wife's opinion? My late husband and I always talked things through. Each of us knew that we had the respect of the other, therefore, we didn't have to worry about anyone feeling they didn't have the right to their opinion. But both of us knew that it made little sense to both go to the polls and cancel out each other's vote. So we talked it through until we could agree and voted together. Sometimes my husband would teach me something, sometimes I taught him something, but both of us learned and benefitted from the discussion.

Sadly the fact people seem to forget is the demographic changes that happened over the past 30 years in europe and to some extent in the US. A law is only as valid as the willingness to enforce it, which means also that you might see the world start validating corrupt institutions like the UN and it's secondary growths before long. Immigration from third world, mostly islamic countries, to the west is having a very negative effect on western values. Western countries have basically culturally castrated themselves against going to war with dictatorships because a large proportion of their new citizens no longer have any allegience to the country they inhabit.

Ireland wasn't completely neutral. In May 1945, their govt infamously expressed its sympathy to the German people on the occasion of the death of their Fuehrer, Adolph Hitler.
Another Hamas-admiring nation, Spain, was a sympathetic non-belligerent to Nazi Germany in WWII, and therefore collaborated with the Nazi genocide.

As it was a lovely story, please inform us when your wife wears her Israel-shaped gold necklace!
On to this evening's topic: I know that I sound like a broken record, but it's a matter of morality.
The individuals presiding in these courts lack a moral compass.
Unless a moral code is rooted in the rules set by the Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, people's actions are either deliberate badness or accidental goodness.
My Protestant Christian friends and I stand with Israel and the Jewish people.

Professor Dershowitz is right about Ireland's recognising “Palestine” but wrong about WW2. The Irish Free State was not fighting England since the Irish War of Independence ended in 1921. Hundreds of thousands of young Irishmen fought for Britain in WW2 and Ireland facilitated the Allies in ways other neutral countries, like Spain, Portugal, Sweden, Switzerland, and most of Latin Amerca did not. The USSR fought alongside the Nazis until Hitler turned on them. No country joined WW2 before being attacked or directly threatened.

The impeachment articles should not have been issued against either justice as a matter of law let before discussing as a matter of fact. Both Justice Alito and Thomas have not committed a crime because 5 USC 13104(a)(2)(A) and 28 USC 455 are juridical laws rather than criminal laws. Crime is an act or omission of an act with a punishment of death or more than one year in prison. A misdemeanor is an act or omission of an act with a punishment lower than that of a felony and higher than that of an infraction. What is a high crime? Good question, but given the examples of treason and bribery, a crime against the nation-state or the public good. Another example of juridical law include the Constitution of the United States other than the treason clause.
What is sometimes described as hypocrisy can as easily be described as hierarchy. Whatever the standard is the standard is dependent on who not what.

This lopsided focus on Israel has been a topic of discussion, with critics pointing to bias at the UN. Notably, Russia faced six resolutions related to its invasion of Ukraine, while North Korea, Afghanistan, Myanmar, Syria, Iran, and the US each received one resolution. Saudi Arabia, China, Lebanon, Turkey, Venezuela, and Qatar, despite their human rights records or regional conflicts, were not criticized by any resolutions

Do tell the BBC who love to quote the ICJ as though it’s an independent court and make out it is very
The ICC have no jurisdiction over a democratic nation with a judicial system when it does the ICC is violating its own rules / law!
The idea that they could arrest and try Netenyahu is obscenely wrong and unlawful
