Hey there, if I were trying to pick a turbo for multi-purpose reasons, and I were to pick a compressor that can support high PR, but run it on lower threshold i,e 1.5 P/R. That would obviously run it outside of it's efficiency range by running it on low boost, but would that also raise IAT?
@@RGHTBrainDesignDrive Relative to how it's spec'd by the customer. For the 500+ mark the above would be the one's I would search for. HX52 Pro if you can find it. Very loose comparison to a GT40 and GT42 with respect to compressor flow rate.
Rotaries consume more air to create the same power due to their 50% longer compression stroke (270° sweep vs. 180° on a reciprocating engine) where BSFC is lower due to leakages.
Need more of this

Did I miss the G model? Is it a G40-1150?
It's my G42-1200 Compact.
Holset hx52’s 55’s for an honorable mention at these boost levels.
It's so hard to find an accurate compressor map from them. Holset makes some badass stuff from what I can tell. Robustness is up there, no doubt.
@@RGHTBrainDesignDrive Absolutely agree there! Still have yet to find a map for the HX52’s, but the 50’s and 55’s have maps floating about.
@@deandevries1907 the problem is their size is huge. The G42 is tiny, tiny by comparison.

Why is it 7 on a rotary engine and not 10 for horsepower estimation on lbs of airflow

How do I not choke out my semi pp 13b at 9k. But still get a responsive 400hp
You wouldn't build a Semi-PP for 400hp. It's not efficient there. Email me for tuning and I can explain.
