Did some ribs and chicken with it. Really enjoyed the new Texas sugar, it’s definitely a different profile than some of the other meat church rubs. The Texas sugar to me has a heavy Cumin note in it, that I don’t get in the other rubs. It’s different, but in a good way, it certainly has its place, it’s a keeper.
@@MeatChurchBBQ don't tell the world the secret that is cumin! I add it to many things and seasonings. If I can make a fall suggestion to you, make a loaded potato soup with holy cow and add cumin. It's the perfect pepper bite. For another protip add smoked sausage into the pot.
I just used the spice and followed these instructions for my first time smoking ribs on Thanksgiving...... According to the family and my taste buds. HOME RUN! What an amazing rub and so thankful for these videos to use as a guide for us newbies.
I made a variation of this a few days ago. I seasoned with salt and pepper, smoked them until 195ish, then seasoned with Texas Sugar afterwards similar to a Memphis style dry rub. It was quite possibly the best rib I’ve had. Great seasoning. Thanks, Matt.
Have a new Meat Church favorite now. Did Texas Sugar on St. Louis ribs yesterday with slight variation to Matt's video. Coated with mustard first, used apple & cherry wood on the Egg & spritzed with 50/50 cider vinegar & apple juice. Best ribs we've done in 18 yrs of having an Egg. Great product Matt!!
Don't ever apologize for using and promoting your own product. There's a reason you make and sell it. Keep videos like these coming. I haven't done ribs in a while but it looks like I'm going to have to now.
Just bought this Texas sugar. Trying it for the first time today. You keep making rubs, I’ll keep buying them! Voodoo has been a favourite of mine for a while. Every time I do jerky, voodoo is on it!
Just grabbed this seasoning from academy! Never smoked ribs but will be doing this this weekend. Already smoked an 11lb butt with the holy gospel and even my dads, who’s smoked meat for decades, said it was delicious. So I’m ready to try these baby back ribs!
This is absolutely the best rub I've ever used. I followed the video completely except I added the mustard binder and I let the ribs sweat for a while. I would eat this rub on a spoon, it's so good, I've told everyone I see.
Hey Matt - my very first cook was THIS! Despite having some major issues with temp control on my brand new pellet grill, let me tell you the B-back ribs turned out phenomenal! Best rib ever!! So many thanks to you for such excellence in your techniques / products and this channel. Its nothing less than a life-changer for us here. The Texas Sugar ROCKS!!
So I work at an Ace Hardware in Midlothian some of the older guys told me how great your rubs are so I ended up trying three or four, and now I constantly watch your videos just so I can sell your product even better, and pass on your recipes and try to turn other people on to your UA-cam page. But yeah super amazing stuff love everything I’ve tried, and I really just enjoy watching your videos thank you for all the Content.
Making this sunday! Thanks, Matt. My neighbor sent me your brisket video for 4th of July and now I own every rub. Your crispiest chicken wings was a huge hit over the weekend!
Bought some Texas sugar at Academy Sports this week, manager saw me looking at rub, he ask me if I had triedMeat Church, I said yes but not Texas sugar, he told me that it was the hottest seller right now, I told him I had watched your video on ribs with Texas sugar, I ask him if he knew Josh Pate, he said he didn’t, I told him that Academy Sports was his major sponsor, of course Josh has a sports show that I watch on UA-cam weekly, and Academy Sports carry’s your products. Plus, plus across the board, I haven’t used the Texas sugar yet, got the ribs and rub just need time to put it all together. Thank you for all your videos and products , thought I would let you know I enjoy both
I’m definitely going to try that rub. Also, I like to spritz my pork ribs with Jack Daniels Tennessee Honey. Pairs well with pork. Keep up the good work, Matt.
I will definitely be getting the new rub and I guessed right in thinking the first new cook with it was going to be ribs. I mean a sweet heat rub is just ready made for ribs. I’ll also try it with chicken. Congrats on the first new rub in two years!
Love your videos. I used your honey hog and honey hot rubs on ribs and they were the best ribs I’ve ever had. I wanted to try more of your rubs and couldn’t decide which one…so I bought them all. They arrive wed and I can’t wait….hope the wife doesn’t get mad. Lol
Been buying your rubs for a few years now Matt. I've tried them all and each one has its place in the pantry. Will most definitely give this rub a try on some spare ribs soon.
So, being diagnosed with "Hypertension" aka "High Blood Pressure" a lot of BBQ & General Cooking Seasonings are now out for me purely due to the salt content. Thank You for bringing this to Market, and I have to say, the MeatChurch "Sweet Seasonings" that I have tried here in the UK have been superb and will be looking forward to trying this latest one. Peace, Love'n'BBQ.
I made pulled pork a couple days ago with this rub. Probably my favorite thing that I've cooked on my Traeger. I've had it six months now. Absolutely delicious!!! Can't wait to make another. Next up brisket but haven't figured out how to cook it yet. There are soooo many videos of on brisket that I'm not sure which one to try..l love all your seasonings. I have all of them. 🔥
It was really cool seeing you on College Game Day a couple weeks ago! Congratulations on the call! We came to the store this past June and love everything we bought!
Can't wait to get a hold of this new rub! Was part of the Sweet Meat Cooking Team from North main BBQ in Euless back in the late 80's, and we smoked our St. Louis style ribs just like that with no wrap. Have enjoyed using all your products!
You have such a great products and a beacon and high standard for other rubs in the industry. Thank you for the constant knowledge, innovation and great products for great tasting food for our family and friends. Go BIlls
Awesome video, I picked some of this rub up last weekend, tried it tonight on a pork tenderloin, and it was delicious. It is a close #2 to the holy voodoo at least on pork. I will have to try it on some poultry.
Mine just came in the mail. Ribs this weekend and I can’t wait. Baked beans, tater salat and ribs. Gonna be epic. Thanks for all the work you do, love the vids. Can’t wait to try the new seasoning.
This is a new Killer versatile rub! I've had raves from my very picky wife on her grilled salmon. She said that's the perfect salmon rub! My St Louis ribs were the talk of the gathering. I did use the SPG first then layered with good coating of TX SUGAR. I like the hint of heat but this is not a real hot rub.. Tis a Sweet Treat in Liberty Hill, TX. I WILL be getting more Texas Sugar. Thanks Matt it's a Home Run.
Well dang you have convinced me to pick up another Meat Church seasoning lol… Meat Church is by far my favorite seasonings. Now gonna send a this link to my cooking buddy.
Can't wait to try it. But I have to give a big thumbs up! One of you other videos you mentioned about adding a spicy jelly to BBQ sauce and MAN that was a great idea. I have a habanero apricot jelly and it makes any BBQ sauce to another level. Thanks for all you do!
This might sound crazy but I have been using a heavy coat of Holy Cow on babybacks followed by a light dusting of honey bacon. At 160, I pull em off and wrap em, with butter, brown sugar, honey and a fat bead of Sriracha. These ribs are freaking killer.
Wahoo! Love other rubs, but most have been salty, can’t wait to try this one since I use some of others as a base to create my own….Can’t wait to try soon
Another one to add to the arsenal! And I was so close to getting them all 😂 But seriously, cannot wait to try this when my local retailer gets it in. Getting up early tomorrow to smoke a pork butt with some Holy Gospel with a touch of Holy Cow. These seasonings/rubs are so great to apply straight up or mix and match to get the flavor profile you like! Thank for the rubs and tips that are helping up by BBQ game!
Just ordered a bottle & the pound bag. I like that it’s not salt forward. So many rubs I like but can’t season heavy because you then have an over salted mess! Thanks!!
Can't wait to try it. Just got into BBQ and rubs and after reading your rubs were the best I gave them a try and they didn't disappoint. Really good. 👍 Gotta wait a bit until it gets to European suppliers but it will be worth the wait I'm sure. Cheers

This is my fav comment so far. You are dead on with the cumin comment. Thank you for the feedback and glad you enjoyed!

I cooked this recipe today, except it took about 4 hours. I have to say, “I ain’t mad at it!” It is sooo good! Thank you!
Finally had son today and it is great!! Doing some ribs and I threw it on the trimmed pieces from my spare ribs for a little mid smoke snack.
Don't ever apologize for using and promoting your own product. There's a reason you make and sell it. Keep videos like these coming. I haven't done ribs in a while but it looks like I'm going to have to now.

Can't wait to try it. We still need a spicy rub. Someone on Facebook mentioned doing one with ghost pepper and calling it Holy Ghost. Genius.
It's on the roadmap. :)
Just grabbed this seasoning from academy! Never smoked ribs but will be doing this this weekend. Already smoked an 11lb butt with the holy gospel and even my dads, who’s smoked meat for decades, said it was delicious. So I’m ready to try these baby back ribs!

So simple and so classic. This Texas Sugar is absolutely amazing! I loved it on pork belly and pork shoulder. Next is a rib!

Picked this up last week. Tried it on Blackstone Griddled Pork Chops, came out fantastic. Pro Tip: Put this on popcorn, you won't be mad at it!

Have enjoyed using all your products!
what happened to North Main BBQ in Euless? I looked up one day and it was gone!!
3 of the original owners passed away, and then they sold it. There is a son with a BBQ trailer on Hwy 10 on Saturdays rolling smoke though.
Love this. Gonna have to try this rub
Thank you!
Just ordered some and can't wait to try it on a rack
