As a kid that time I'm so excited to have a landline phone coming to my house although we waited for ten months before that happened. The telephone line grid was installed slowly for nine months (January 10, 1993 to October 1993). We got the landline phone by November 11, 1993. Before the telephone grid was out up, there's a payphone beside my house where we can make calls. However my mother rarely used that pay phone because we had to go to my relative's house whenever my late father has time to call us during his free time or when the ship is at the port because he's a seafarer. Those horrible blackouts also used to take place during early part of evening to dawn.
PLDT was so weak at this until that Prime Minister from Singapore named Lee Kwan Yew told that the phone lines were sloppy. Hence, Zero Backlog. As for the blackouts, it did play a huge role in replaying most of popular anime and tokusatsu shows. Even Friends.
Wow, US-Schoolbus in the Philippines? I have never seen in Manila since I was in the Philippines in June 2015. Why does somebody not tell me since initial subways and trains in the Philippines since 1993? I thought Duterte had released subway and train connections in the Philippines in 2017/2018. Has it proof?

1990年に大学生のときに友人とマニラに来ましたが、まだオンボロ大都市でした。
その20年後に再び訪れた時に、すごく発展していたのには驚きました。

1993年の映像はビデオですが、まだ画質が悪い頃のものです。他の投稿で1981年のマニラの映像は8mmフィルムから随分経ってからデジタル化しましたので完全に色あせてしまいました。そちらもご覧いただければ幸いです。
