I was able to fully understand this lecture in 22 minutes than 50 minutes with my Math for Liberal Arts professor. Thanks for making this video public!
@Sunny, either/or is most likely an OR function. p = I go to the store q = I go get gas either I go to the store or I go get gas p OR q no, this may be a way of denoting an exclusive OR, an OR where both cannot be true but I would need some more context. An exclusive or is usually noted as XOR and has a truth table: p q p XOR q T T F T F T F T T F F F
Hi I just wanted to say thank you for posting your videos. I took my exam last week and passed!! I couldn't have done it without your videos!! Thank you again for taking the time and posting them...BTW I'm a nursing student and the exam I'm referring to is the Contemporary Math exam for Excelsior College.
i can't see the link for the slides. i think it the explanations are great but the visual is a little bit unclear. that's why it would be great to get those slides.
ok, the only thing puzzling me is how to know if something is true or false, for example "William Shakespeare wrote the last episode of The Sopranos." if I new nothing about Shakespeare how would I identify it as true or false? is it based on common knowledge? also I am asking this for test purposes.

I really liked your scheme. Thank you. What I am looking for is how to negate "either.. or" statement ? Can you please explain?
@Sunny, either/or is most likely an OR function.
p = I go to the store
q = I go get gas
either I go to the store or I go get gas
p OR q
no, this may be a way of denoting an exclusive OR, an OR where both cannot be true but I would need some more context.
An exclusive or is usually noted as XOR and has a truth table:
p q p XOR q
T T F
T F T
F T T
F F F
This has helped me understand negation on the LSAT so much. Thank you
