Miroku yes, undoubtedly, but why not KOFs at under £500 brand new with warranty. By barter I paid £470 for a 12 bore and £420 for a 410 to use as pigeon/crow/vermin guns.
Brilliant job David! So many people see shooting as too expensive to get into as guns are so expensive. You smashed that wall down. Very honest and balanced view.
love my lanber they took a bit of influence from every gun on the market and made it into something just right you can’t really criticise them there more reliable some other brands i’ve a late 80s sporter and love it
Hi, my Baikal has had a life of hard work in the field on Bunnies , fox & the occasional feral Pig , in all types of weather , it's not fussy with ammunition brand, they may be a bit of an ugly duckling , but they are built solid & the action is still tight with no play & can handle the odd bump & knock . Cheers .
I guess where you are, the Winchester is not too popular. In the states, those 101’s bring anywhere from $1500-$3000 USD. You can even buy the buttstock off one for $500.
Dead right. I’ve been shooting for a couple of years and still have my grandfather’s old over under. It’s had about 100k shells put through it and still shoots like new.
I’ve just started to get into shooting and I have been binge watching all your videos the last few weeks and I would just like to say thank you for all the great content. Hoping to be able to get my licence this year and enjoy a new hobby.
Hi Hi thank you for your comments if you would like to give David a call on 01844 238 308 he may able to help you with getting into the sport. Thanks TSC Team.
Hi David. I have a few of the guns you have talked about. Wonder if you could also give a review on another good budget gun the classic double 12g game. I have just recently bought one to have a go with. A review would be great. I believe they are made by Winchester.
Been wanting a Yildiz Legacy HPS or Sporting HPS in the USA. I live in Florida and in each Academy Sports store is listed as out-of stock. Because of your channel, I will continue being patient until the come available again. . . . Great channel. . .I'm a new subsciber!
nice vid...👍 id take the miroku personally, but the older guns dont like low brass shells..... too much tolerance in the ejectors, as a starter the last thing you want is a shell thats fallen beneath the ejector. Its a right pain
I found your channel as I have been looking for a nice gun to start shooting trap/skeet with. I really like what I have been hearing about the Yildiz models and think they would be a great gun to start out with, BUT they are only available at Academy sport in the US which is a southern based chain. They also do not ship and are in store purchase only, so getting a Yildiz in the US is almost impossible. Wish they would ship to other stores or distributors in the US. Love your information and channel, so a new subscriber here. Thank you for some great info !!
Based upon your review pleased with a recently purchased used Baikal IZH-EM-1C 12GA. O/U. Single trigger 2 choke, ventilated rib, non ventilated barrels for $400 US. Fore end loose, needed adjustment, overall very good condition.
Thanks David as always for presenting both ends of the spectrum. Would love to see a collaboration with you and Johnny from TGS. Hope this is not offending.
@TheshootingChannel Would it be possible to do a review on a Lanber? Or even better, a video on the history of Lanber with the different models available, plus what you think went wrong that they dont exist anymore?
turkish guns killed lanber off they couldn’t compete with them and they where creeping up towards £1000 price point i still don’t know how bettinsoli manage to make guns so affordable but at a better quality then the turkish stuff
@@stephenward3796 very beautiful gun but cost a lot to Remington reliability the model 105 cti 2 should resolve the problems but it didn't. very daring project sad that it was a failure.
I'd buy the Winchester over the rest any day, outstanding quality of manufacture, not churned out to a price bracket like most guns these days unfortunately. I wish Browning had never got their grubby mitts on Winchester and cheapened the name. Buy a Winchester and you have a gun for lifetime that's what John Robson told me years ago, proveyer of Kyldane Fieldsports back in the day, god rest his soul.
Hear hear! I am located in US and would love to see some comments on Top 5 SxS both under £500 and top end. I keep hearing English doubles are falling out of favor but would have a nice international SxS in the stable with my Fox, Parker and LC Smith.
Hi David. You mention a lot about guns that are low in the Combe what is the technique for shooting a gun that is a little too low for the shooter Thanks
I love the vids and content. But, when talking budget guns, I wish you wouldn't keep say that these guns are for people that "don't have a great deal of money to invest in sport". I know millionaires that started with similar price guns and still use them. These guns are perfect, no matter the budget.
Intresting i would say there all great but no autos no side by sides all my guns are 500 pond guns my autos are a little more as i only really shoot 20 gauge i would buy my gun ofyou if i lived in england
Thank you for sharing, highly appreciated. Let’s get envious, you’re allowed to buy real gun, go shooting & hunting. In our nation, the most of people have enough money, even rich; but absolutely there’s no individual is allowed to buy any kind of real guns, and there’s no legal real guns can be bought🚫; hunting is prohibited 🚫; if there’s against, jailed for many years, endless or shot to death by government; a lot of laws that are similar to terrible ruling age, maybe the strictest restrictions in the world (except the North Korea). Is there anyone can help us to get rid of the strict control?

Grabbed my baikal NE double trigger for 50 quid! Shoots well and built like a tank, left me a couple of extra hundred to spend on lessons
Good luck with that...

I’m gonna have to move to England so I can buy a Winchester 101 for 500 pounds cause in the US they’re going for nearly $2000… used 🙄
Can't argue with those, although I would've called it top 6 and chucked a Nikko in.

Don't go mad on your first gun price and invest in PRACTICE. Then go and outshoot people with expensive guns, it's satisfying really.

Love my Shadow skeet gun. I shoot well at sporting with it and was imported in 1979. Never misses a beat and I often choose it over my shiny Beretta

What do you think about the Charles Daly O/U 202a
Are them guns choked and do they eject the cartridge
Always a pleasure to watch your videos!

I'd take the winchester 101/old miroku over any new gun upto £2500 and even after that would take a very good gun to make me sway.

Worst Remington ever

Do a side by side The Top 5 Guns Under £500

Hi David. You mention a lot about guns that are low in the Combe what is the technique for shooting a gun that is a little too low for the shooter
Thanks
Comb height/face/neck dimensions are what dictates it being considered too low. Just mount the gun softer to your cheek to raise it

How long medium skilled IT man must work for 500£? Want to compare something.
Baikal.are great shotguns ,

What about kofs there a good brand
Baikal is the best like work horse,,, never let me down
Is there plenty of places to stay if I come down for the festival ?
Yes lots of hotels and pubs if you call the Pointer pub in brill they will give you a discount to stay there too.

So will you be coming to The Oxford Festival Of Shooting then?
I'd love to go but I live rather far away unless Ms Sayer will be there then, hands and knees & broken bottles comes to mind 😁
