They don't need her unless they want people to watch!

Team USA won the gold medal against France In the womens basketball by the skin of their teeth, 77 against 76 points! Diana Taurasi, the 42-year old point guard, was benched because she only contributed a total of 4 points in all the last 5 games Team USA games with her playing as a starter. The other point guard, the injured Chelsea Gray, also a starter, contributed a total of less than 10 points for all the 6 games. Caitlin Clark is tge best point guard in the WNBA. She averages 17 points per game, holds the highest assist per game ( 8 assists), has average of 7 rebounds per game, has elite basketball IQ and court generalship. Caitlin Clark should be in the roster.

They don't need to televise the games either, but they do. Obviously the larger the audience there is, the better it is for the growth of the WNBA. Organizers of the USA team missed a golden opportunity by not including Caitlin Clark. And, by the way, Angel Reese could be included in this conversation as well. With CC And AR on the team, there would have been so many more eyes on the games and they would still have dominated.
