What a great kickoff to the campaign! Thanks for watching. After the stream we realized that we did not discuss XP. We will be awarding experience points at the end of a session! NO MILESTONE LEVELING. We want that old school feel. The characters received 70 experience points for their fight with the Brigands and for helping Baumhaur. We will recap the method in the next stream. See you on the tabletop!
I am rewatching the Keep Stream with the Charcoal Coalition. I am hoping Bob will announce in his upcoming State of the Channel that the Charcoal Coalition will return in 24 in a new Classic D&D Adventure (Levels 5-8)
That was fun! Can't wait to see the group get into the caves. Relive my very first adventure as a PC back in '81 by watching this group fumble through it. Maybe they'll live to see level 2!
Just found this. Really looking forward to this watch. I've been thinking of converting this adventure to 5e myself and I am excited to see what another dm has done with it!
@RockKupo Yeah, I was surprised by the advantage on the Persuasion check vs. the brigand leader too--I fully expected to be at disadvantage. But the rolls were 20 and 24, so I'm pretty sure even the lower roll would have been good enough to back her off.
He may have given it based on the situation. Her bandits where being held down fairly well. Couple asleep, a couple held by more magic, the dead guy .. I can see where maybe a DM could be generous in that situation and give advantage to persuasion.
Bob's 1st line of Episode 1 of The Keep on the Borderlands "Welcome Everyone to the 1st Show of Many for Keep on the Borderlands". If Bob & the Charcoal Coalition only knew
The Dungeon Craft influence is strong with this one! Excellent module choice and a fun use of homebrew rules so far. Very much looking forward to the continuation of this adventure. Well done!
Thanks Brian. I am going to make an effort to do this for all my live streams going forward. I also realized that live chats go away if I cut the dead air at the beginning. So I have to put time stamps to avoid that.
Great job guys! Excellent party! And great job DM Bob! This video has kept me captivated...I started playing D&D in 1981 with 1st edition then 2nd and 3rd editions,,,what is a good resource for playing online? Ive heard some good things about edition 5e,,,,how does it compare with 1st and second edition? And how hard would it be to learn? Any feedback is much appreciated -cheers
Thank you for the kind words! I would say 5E is probably the most accessible edition of the game and very easy to get into. It is also extremely popular so there are many resources around. I personally think 3.5 was the best edition, but I have come to love 5E. I use roll 20 for my online games. It takes a bit of figuring out but it is very reliable and has quite a bit of resources for it as well. Other virtual tabletops exist and i have heard great things. Just have to do your research and find the one for you!
Hey guys! Great fun tonight! (This is Jeff/Skorri). I TOLD you I'd go down in the first combat encounter! Just wanted to say thanks again to Marshall Short and Printable Heroes, who created the artwork for the tokens in tonight's adventure. If you're interested in getting instant access to a HUGE catalog of excellent printable miniatures and VTT tokens, check out Printable Heroes at Patreon: www.patreon.com/PrintableHeroes/posts
"You should..." Make suggestions and not commands, lol. I immediately stop listening when someone comes at me with that bossy energy. It's something I am working on, but there are plenty of people like me, who don't like people telling people what to do. Just a suggestion, so people don't tune out when you are trying to plug your channel.

Fantastic. Love this playlist.

Not likely but we will see. While adventuring can be exciting, it is also a dangerous occupation. Only the best will make it to level 2.
"Hello, I cut a man in half today, so my day is going great"

Annnnnd the hummingbird is now an alcoholic!

Absolutely! I love professor DM and his channel!
Really good start. You have a fun mix of play styles in the party and the OGs and Newbe's are learning from each other. Lovin' it!
That was the hottest interspecies lay on hands I’ve ever witnessed
That hummingbird is really going to have a whole new buzz, eh?
All dwarves are Scottish! :)
Loved Episode 1!
Thanks Boyd!
Guy was trying to use minor illusion like it's disguise self.
5e hardcore mode rules from Runehammer.
Yeah baby!
Nice job with adding the Chapters to the video!

Excellent job! Old school meets new school 🧙
Nice job, I'm looking forward to your next session.
18:20 A Dwarf Bard? Isn't that an Oxymoron? 😀
You should make a Playlist for this series
There is a playlist! Check it out on the channel page. 19 videos uploaded I believe. Enjoy!

FRITZ needs to be replaced with someone who seems alive
