SARAH MACKEN - CLOSET CONFIDENTIAL

Sarah Macken is a fashion editor and writer who has playfully described her style as 'coastal grandma'. Think florals, stripes, denim and a good jelly shoe! She cites Alexa Chung as the 'OG' style inspiration (who doesn't!?) and has a dreamy wardrobe that screams French girl living in a cottage in the Dublin suburbs.
I love her sensible approach to style and shopping, but that doesn't mean her clothes are sensible - there is an innate sense of whimsical fun with her wardrobe and think we could all learn a thing or two about falling in love with our clothes and wearing them well, just like Sarah.

I wouldn’t say coastal grandma at all, not even her home. I would say it’s a mix of two aesthetics grandmillenial / cool girl!
Her style is very bohemian/ Parisian/ Eclectic , which are essentially the bones of both aesthetics that I mentioned

Since the series is called “Closet Confidential,” I always find it disappointing when we don’t see the actual closet. I don’t find a rack with a few selections very interesting, as it may not be indicative of the whole wardrobe.

Hi Tina, thanks for your feedback. I completely understand what you are saying but sometimes, understandably some of our interviewees feel a little protective of showcasing ALL of their homes, other times the space is too small to get in to film, or the lighting doesn't allow for good filming even with lights and therefore we choose a room with great space and light in their home and style and showcase a rail of their favourite pieces that best define their personal style. The idea of the show is to showcase great personal style - not necessarily to showcase their full wardrobe or physical wardrobe - each interview is very different and based on the individual and what they can bring to the conversation.

Ooh, don't let any Irish people see that comment. Just to note... Ireland is an island and NOT part of the UK. And additionally Sarah lives about 5 minutes from the beach so yes, coastal.
