I used to know Stu years ago when I worked with him at the Norton Simon Museum in Pasadena Calif. We used to see lots of movies-he loved Star Wars and other movies. He was a very funny, generous man who cared for everyone.
I cannot wait to see this movie tonight. I love Mark Wahlberg as an actor, and I am very much excited to see him in this role. I love that Mark is a Catholic, and after many years away from the church, I am very much back. My grandmother passed away in February this year, and this was my breaking point. I need God, and I want to go back to my Catholic church.
I went back 5 years ago and actually joined the Knights of Columbus I watched this movie two weeks ago on an overseas flight and it struck me to the core It's a movie instead of being about superhumans, it's about super human faith when the world says you should give up
@Julia Rivera first off I want to give my condolences. 2nd after seeing Mark Wahlberg talking about this movie I couldn't wait to watch... There was one scene in particular, when he got in the motorcycle accident and his vision of Mary... I felt like someone hit me with a cattle prod, I had cold chills all over my body.. as a Catholic, as a Christian man I would love the opportunity to chat with you about this movie. I am a single guy who maybe has choose the wrong women, maybe just maybe I'm seeing your message through Divine intervention, because I need a woman of faith in my life, you never know what The Lord has in his plans. What a Blessing his life was and is. His acceptance of the Will of God and love and mercy experienced by Father Stu continues to transform lives. He has given us an example THY WILL not mine be done. We all are given that choice The Divine Merciful Jesus gives us all that chance to say YES. Don't mourn for him he is with the Lord.

I really loved this movie- the cast was perfect and the story about Father Stu was amazing! My fiance and I laughed a lot. I found myself holding back tears through much of it. I even caught my fiance getting choked up at the end. I'd highly recommend this movie!
Touching and moving video of Fr Stu. Thank you Lord for the gift of Fr. Stu. Truly inspirational and has created a burning desire within me to be a better knight and version of myself.
Our parish bought out a theater for two nights this week to see Fr Stu. I am looking forward to seeing even more now that I know he was an involved brother Knight. Vivat Jesus!
Watching this now. After seeing this video, I am in awe thank you Father Stu, thank you YouTubber for posting this and my ultimate thanks go to God for leading me here.
Amen just as a viewer it was an amazing film to watch. I hope through watching that it helps me to be a better Christian as I know spiritually I am weak.Thank your Father Stu God bless your soul ❤️🙏🏾
Great story! Glad I watched it. Makes you see how grace is at work for those who were called to priestly life. Pray for more priests and pray for those in formation who struggle with the challenges of their call.
I just watched this tonight. Rented it. What an incredible story of grit, and mercy, its a pure endurance for life, and human suffering of one self, with illness...is just such a good portrayal, of how if your meant to be a leader..you'd achieve that true lesson,in ways you never truly expect! .....this will capture your attention.
I just watched the movie. It was really great. I'm grateful Mark Wahlberg told his story. Father Stu was quite a force of nature. I'm glad his family finally got it together & supported him as he found his calling while slowly losing his life. I'm grateful he persevered & was able to serve as many people as he could before he was laid to rest. It could not have been easy. He was a wonderful man. May God Bless his soul.
It was an awesome movie! While doing a Google search about Father Stu I read that our prior Bishop of Madison, WI - Robert C Morlino, was the one that accepted him as a seminarian and sent him to Mount Angel Seminary. Bishop Morlino was the Bishop in Helena at the time. He also did my mother-in-laws funeral in Wisconsin. What a small world. 🥰😇
This man truly used his suffering for Christ. The movie is mostly about his preconversion and the miracle of Jesus entering his life. If you truly want to know anything about him listen to the interview of Father Bart on (relevant radio Cale Clarke show) who knew him well. They were very close friends.
If Father Stu was the Stuart Long I've known who worked at Norton Simon Museum in Pasadena, CA in the mid-1990s, I can say that he was a good person and manager. We had a daily meeting before the museum opened and he was such a great person to lead, a motivator, full of humor, and a person of good character. He would do his rounds talking to all the gallery attendants including me and he would easily start a conversation with you. He was very polite and even mannered. He would acknowledge you and ask if you are doing ok. I didn't even think he would become a priest as he did not seem to be into any type of religion. However, I believe God can call on anyone including him as a way to bring goodness into the world.
How were the Knights of Columbus involved with Father Stu? I'm not a member of the Knights of Columbus but I used to run a print Christian ad agency, Liturgical Publications of St. Louis. As an ad salesman I sold quite a few church bulletin ads and annual directory ads to the different chapters around the midwest and the south. And I used to attend their meetings as an ad sales rep for LPI of St. Louis to see if any of the Knights that owned businesses were interested in advertising with their parish church bulletin. What I noticed at the meetings was everything was open, unlike the freemasons, and quite a few Knights were really into hunting and fishing, and had turkey and meat shoots. Was Father Stu into hunting and fishing and the outdoors?
I very much wanted to see the movie it was only in the theaters while I was in the hospital it was here just a few days and it was gone I’m wondering if it will come back in the Houston Austin area of Texas. I hope so
