I mean, I can understand it makes opening cans easier and cleaner... But I just don't feel like the space it would take up, and counter space is a real factor in my kitchen, just isn't worth it. I mean, it's just a can opener. Using a manual hand one isn't that big of deal.. Just seems unnecessary. To each their own though!
Jack, I bought a Kuhn Rikon can opener years ago because of your video review of it, and I still love it. But last year, I found out that Hamilton Beach made this electric one that cuts the edge so it's not sharp and so I bought one. It really is a great can opener. I've even gotten them for other people. Really good product.
That's a huge instrument there , just for doing a simple function
I'll stick to my 99 cent opener from ikea
Works like a 💣 lol
They used to make one that attached under your cabinets and took up no counter space. It was also a safety cutter and I still have a working one. I hope it never quits on me. Why in the heck they discontinued that one we will never know. Oh yes we do know, lack of sales is always the reason. NO company ever quit making something because they could not make enough of the item.
I've got a side cutting can opener, but it's a manual Starfrit model. I'll use it until my Tendonitis and Arthritis get too bad.
Just bought one from E-bay, thanks to your video that helped me so much, I did not understand instruction pamphlet, I am a visual person, I absolutely love this can opener, just like you it was hard to find a good quality can opener, LOVE, LOVE LOVE.
I have to buy a new one every year or every other year because they stop working. Looking for a video that tells me how to keep this awesome can opener working longer than a year!!
So why the reupload?
I got one for Christmas and it doesn't cut the can.
What's the lock feature on the handle when you have to hold it down
Cool, thanks for the review!
I used to have a cordless versioin of one of those side opening kind years ago, i liked it because the top of the can wouldn't fall back into the can when you took it off the opener. reaching in the can to fish it out is such a pain. lol
I HAVE ONE OF THESE AND IT IS A GREAT BUY AND WORKS GREAT
My favorite can opener but it dies every year or so! I love it but any idea how to keep it going?
Thank very much for your help.
I bought one for my mom and we have it for 5 years and it still works.
Jack, have you ever considered testing a Ronco device particularly their Rotisserie ovens and Ready Grill or Perhaps a Viante Intellisteam Food Steamer, there in the slightly higher price category and I always trusted your reviews of products and would love to hear your opinions of such products
thank you for the help! my kids can do this too easy!
had one for two years ,opens a can of soup at noon every day. works great
Hey Jack!!! I love your product reviews, my boyfriend has this can opener and i have a hand held one like this an I love them both. I have to admit that I love watching ppl trying to use it cuz they're not use to it.
Anyways, like i said I love your reviews cuz I feel that they are honest but could you possibly do updates on the products? In the beginning everything works great but how do they hold up over time is what I like to know. Just a suggestion, but either way I think you're a super great fella and kinda funny!!! hahahaha
I hope this works better for you then it did for me. Mine lasted for about a year then just stopped working. It also has problems on taller cans and if there is any damage to the can then it will not work.
also do not like that it is a non-removable/replaceable blade assembly.
Is good thank for the video I never seen this one is amazing thank you
One day shipping from Amazon prime and mine arrived today.... Trust me it is awesome..
Nifty! Will it open oddly-shaped cans, like corned beef?
You do know this side cutting type came out in the 80s right?
I own one of these and I can vouch for him on this. It really is awesome and safe.
give it a few months and things will loosen up from use and then the cutting parts wont do the job any more and you'll have uncut edges and stuck can lids that you have to pry open or some other way of opening the can to get food out
I've owned this for about a year now and I have no problems with it.
I have this same exact can opener
Cool vid Jack!
Jack jack can I have the Hamilton Beach breakfast sandwich maker
Interesting. I wonder if the cats will come running when it runs? :) It does make it look easy. Something to consider now.
Thanks!
30 dislikes. Geez. People really hate can openers. Damn Luddites.
when are you going to post more cooking videos? most of your recent videos are product reviews
I watched a ton of your videos, I never seen this one haha that is an amazing one, mine is a piece of garbage and yeah, the sauce it collects is annoying as hell, if mine ever goes bad , I'm defiantly getting that! great video!
What is the model #?
Had the same can opener from walmart. lasted about 5 months and then blade would not cut anymore
Thanks for the correction on this video.
Cheers
Mine couldn't open anything for me
thanks for the corrected video. much improved.
There were several takes that should have been edited about, but weren't.
There are hundreds of choices if you shop online.
Second time ;) lol I thought the first one was pretty good.
Good luck with that can opener. Never had one that last that long they always got where they wouldn't open the can any longer
considering EVERY can-opener I've ever owned never lasted that long, I'm willing to give this a chance.
Stop being lazy and get a old school opener is it as fast as a electric 1
Please capitalize the H in the title.
Thanks!
-My OCD
why was this reuploaded?
+Cooking With Jack Show .......too much caffeine Jack. I had a really bad night last night. Blessings
Why is this so big, i've always used the manual one which is faster and cheaper. To me this is useless.
I use a hand opener.
"Safe for Kids", well, it's a good lesson to learn, don't touch sharp things
its about the simple things in life lol
first
Cheers
I have had mine since mid 2000s. Great for pet food (no separate lid needed) or anything you only need a bit of - put the lid on and place in the fridge.
Highly recommend!
