You need to hear more songs of them. All of their songs are different and they are good. You will see how they can play some many genres and keep their essence as a band.

True. The closest to knowing someone with Alzheimer's was when my late Grandfather had a bad stroke, was paralyzed down one side of his body, face and all. But his memory was also affected and it felt like someone afflicted with it... Awkward segue, that Aloe Vera jelly drink is the best! ETA, if you like that, try Australian Musk candies...

Not sure if anyone has shared this but here's an excerpt from an interview with Courtney LaPlante about the song:
"Due to border shut downs, I was not able to say goodbye to my grandmother Phyllis, to whom the song is in tribute, or attend her funeral. I always promised her that I would sing at her memorial service, because she always requested a 'pretty song with none of that scary screaming.' I hoped writing this song with no 'scary screaming' in it would help me find a sense of closure."
"Dylan (video director) wrote his video concept to honor his grandmother, Constance to whom the video is in tribute. Our music videos usually have a horror element to them, and we wanted to explore a different side of horror: the horror of feeling like your mind is betraying you, due to a long battle with dementia. With Dylan's permission, we named the song 'Constance' to immortalize her story."

Rule of nines is a great middle ground to show off her range. Belcarra leans more towards the holy roller brutality. Blessed be leans more towards Constance. But you can't go wrong. Any Spiritbox songs are great.

Man, this song fuckin' broke me. And you're right: they can do absolutely anything. They have a 16-minute prog epic in "The Mara Effect," and a great middle ground in "Rule of Nines" as others have said.

Courtney is a beast of a vocalist. Her vocal range is damn impressive. And her voice is so unique and beautiful. I love her phrasing and everything about her vocal style. Mike's the riff god himself and Bill is a beast on that bass aswell. This song is pure and honest art. So honest that it makes me cry. And I'm honest: this is not the first Spiritbox song that made me cry. I really appreciate the honesty they always put into their music and in everything they do. Constance is a very personal song for the band, especially Courtney and also for Dylan, their video director (Versa Films). Courtney and Dylan wrote those lyrics and the video together. It's mainly about Alzheimer's and dementia but also loosing somebody. With this song, Courtney wants to say goodbye to her grandma who passed away this summer. Courtney wasn't able to do so because of travel bans due to COVID. That's so sad and it really breaks my heart... Dylan's grandmother suffers from dementia and they told his story with this video. The song was named after Dylan's grandmother - Constance. Being aware of all that background information about the song makes you even more emotional and connected to them and their music. This song is heavy on a different level. At the same time it's super beautiful and I love it

Bejaysus, to me surprise this song has slipped from my life till this reaction here. So go raibh maith agat mo chara, for bringing it to my attention. The pristine production, The delicate chiming and picking of the clean tone guitars. The tall walls of sound, the lush layers of electronica floating amidst the cascading chugs of deep downed guitars. It actually reminded me very much of Devin Townsend. Some of his songs have a brilliant female vocalist sharing the song singin duties, and its really not a hundred miles from this track, especially whats happening at and after the 6 minute mark. Im defo gonna get this song more into my ears. Liked this song lots, brotha. Again, tanks for showcasing it via the review.
