Thats a great looking car, so many features packed into it for a rtr. the radio is a rebranded DumboRC one, fantastic radio with an amazing range.... well oveer 150 metres. Another great video Matteo, keep them coming, I bet you cant wait to get it out ...
This is a well made vehicle. Magnetic closure, swing open body, battery compartment, lights and more all solid engineering and apropos build methods. I feel like I don't even need to see it run, and classify it as the best RTR to date. I would prefer this to any currently on the market.
Iv got the land cruiser ute one it's the same as that were can I get parts for them and they are a great crawler and can keep up to anything on the market just not easy to find parts for iv found
WOW Matteo! That appears to be a serious contender in the Market. Very full featured, nice detailed Body, NO Body Post Holes! I believe it will be very expensive, but I think I'd like to have one. Stay SAFE my Friend! 😷 Carmine ✈🚂🚙
Thank you, Matteo for these many wonderful videos. Great work and explanations. I hope you will publish your impressions on the stock model soon, before you begin to mod it.
That car looks great. I wonder what you think about the quality. Looking forward for the driving video. I wonder if the driver figure is installed at that time?
Excellent unboxing video, i did pre order this model but then changed my mind as its not really been tested properly yet, and i still like my FS racing SCX10 II clone , keep up the good work matteo
These sherpas might be sold by redcat for American territories. But I'm not 100% sure about that. Absima works together with redcat for German speaking countries. So there Is high probability sherpas come to the u.s.
so... A 2-speed transmission, locking diffs, a super detailed body with some scale goodies on the back and a full light kit. All this for a very reasonable price. What's the catch?
The brand is YK4 in Asian regions(These variants has pre-applied decals). Reviews around my region commonly say the exterior is top notch for RTR Jeep, with an excellent built in LED system on top. People who bought it compared this with TRX4 and says TRX4 still has obvious strength in performance. Overall. a very cost-effective product that expands purchase options. -->edit Forgot to mention: Transmission gears are plastic. (Metal for portals)
Weird how they didnt make it with a hazard function that kicks in after a time delay when standing still for a certain amount of time instead of the side repeater funktion when turning. Or better yet both, as dipswitch selectable options on the lightcontroller. Its a matter of taste perhaps.. :)
Of course the functions could be optimized. But for a RTR out of the box, it's not bad. I think I will disconnect the winkers. Fortunately all LED's are connected via connectors, so easily possible to stop the function. I think no off road truck driver use winkers on the trails....
haha yes, you are correct :) LANE Boys RC did a mod some years back where a hack to a simple receiver made it possible to have to stay in neutral for 1 seconds, then hold the steering left/right for one second before the winkers engage. This way normal driving did not trigger the indicators for more realism. There was also a couple useful posts on their blog called "DIY car light controller for 3-channel RC" and "Pre-processor for the DIY RC Light controller". Very cool
wow! german engineering at its finest!! will definitely look into this for my next RC! I hope they come out with the new Bronco body as I am not a fan of the Jeeps lol
Not made in Germany, made in China ;) Absima does not produce products, it does only let produce and rebrand - the TX is a DumboRC X6P and also works with DumboRC reveivers. Absima, Reely, Amewi - "similar" products, very popular here in German speaking countries in EU. The Reely Free Men ist probably the most sold crawler in our countries - and not know over the pond.
Yes, the price to develop a complete new rc car is impossible for a small company like Absima. So they do it this way. I think is good, this helps to keep a big variety of products, not only the big players. And also Traxxas cars are made in china, and Axials too...
An awesome truck with a ton of equipment out of the box for a fair price. Only thing turning me down is the bodystyle. Maybe not even the whole styling but the grill with its angry looking headlights just looks like a cheap Chinese design knock-off to just differentiate it a bit from the original jeep wrangler. But that should be possible to fix somehow. A 3d printed replacement-grille should be enough and also doable. Looking forward to your first running videos and a review of this rig.
That style of grill is all over the real life jeeps around where I live. I kinda like it, though, and if I owned a jeep, I would likely get one for it. But, this is a nice looking scale crawler, and I would get one to compliment my SCX10 that I built years ago.
Every time Matteo says “garage” I relive the moment in Oslo where I was told I was pronouncing ‘garage’ incorrectly when referring to the Speed Garage music genre, with my American accent slurring the ‘ga’ to ‘gah’ and putting all the emphasis on the first syllable.
@@Matteomeier I’ve emailed pretty much all hobby shop asking if they ship to USA, I’ve gotten a few emails back saying no due to COVID and all the other never even reply back. So I keep searching.
The germans know their engineering, it looks very well designed and built. But, do you trust anybody else building *your cars*, Matteo? I would disassemble the whole car, and reassemble it, just to make sure there're no bugs or trolls in it. But that's just me I think, no?
Aha... Yikong? Interesting. Well, perhaps Absima drew the car in CAD, and ordered Yikong to build it? It looks very well built. Also the idea to mount the steering servo to the front axle is very good, just like on MST's CMX. I think I will buy one, but I don't want the Wrangler body, I would prefer perhaps a Cherokee or a Land Rover 80's look.
Tomas Dahlgren No nothing to do with Absima ,the version 1 of this truck has been out for over a year ,the yikong 4101 ( pick up truck body shell) .Its pretty common for different RC company’s to sell the same Chinese RC’s with only difference being the brand name and sometimes slight spec changes 👍
Those look like combined 1.9/2.2 wheels and tires. So no replacing the tires without also replacing the wheels. I'n not a fan of portals, locking diffs, blue LEDs or the front grille. Why are the indicators in the bumper instead of the stock location on the fenders? Why does it even have indicators? Why can't you only turn on the headlights without the spots and roofbar? Why is the underside so rough? So many ridges to get stuck on. What's up with the red chrome fuel cans? They did a nice job on the amount of body details but I would buy an SCX10III over this any day, even without having seen it drive.
Thanks for your feedback! Some of your questions are personal choice. And of course SXC10 III is a great truck (I have it too, but also there, not everything is perfect...) but for the price, you get a lot of cool, good working features with the Sherpa. 👍😊
