So many red light runners does question weather it's not only distracted drivers, but maybe also US intersections designed wrong? Many other western countries for example place the overhead lights at the entrance of the crossing, instead of the opposite end.

1:10 I feel sorry for the poor kids that have that pickup driver as their dad. Clearly has anger issues and you can tell he's the type of guy who can never accept he's wrong and regularly yells at people when he's the one at fault
People like that often just make up their justifications. There's only about a 50% chance Mister 5'5" actually has any kids, let alone custody of them.

3:03 these are always the wildest ones to me, person has visibility for a mile in either direction and still chooses to get t-boned
In situations like that, I never discount the possibility that they were intentionally trying to get hit for some manner of lawsuit or insurance scam.
Had a similar situation myself decades ago; I was the only car on the 55mph road for a mile, and I saw a car just sitting at a side-road way up the road. I got a very uneasy feeling, and as I got closer to approaching where he was, I let off the gas and hovered my foot over the brake... wouldn't you know it, the idiot pulled out RIGHT when I got there. Luckily, I was mentally prepared and missed him by slamming on the brakes.
Those go in my " how do you manage that " file.
Also, and maybe this is because I actually learned how to drive in a country other than the US, but I always drive defensively and I would slow down if I see a car at a cross road like that because people are stupid. The guy in the video would have had plenty of time to break and avoid the collision.
Like how the person was so far away and on empty road why even hit the gray car??
@@DiRF They were coming out of a Dollar Store. Insurance scam is quite likely.
Once again, a distinct lack of defensive driving from a lot of the cammers. When you see or expect something dangerous, AVOID IT, even if you have the right of way. Being right isn't worth your life, or even your car. And stay out of people's blind spots!
THIS.
MY FEELINGS EXACTLY!!!! This channel is why we need more public transit in this country. It gets bad drivers off the road, bullet trains don’t pollute and can hold more people, and not nearly as much maintenance is needed! Can corroborate, have used electric transit myself and been to walkable cities (which we also need more of).
@@co-jt6gd Bullet trains? Really?
@@sarcasticguy4311 Yeah, or as they’re known in Japan: Shinkansen. Cars aren’t gonna be the main mode of transportation forever, and neither are we gonna continue to rely on gas and oil and nuclear for much longer. 2050? If we’re going to keep this planet clean we need to aim for carbon neutrality much sooner than that. We also need to recycle as many things as we can and use recycled but refurbished parts as well: and clean up the seas and forests of litter and disposed crap somehow: and we also need to make sure we use renewable energy sources and reforest as well.
Climate change is not a political issue; it affects everything and everyone and every living being besides, worse than what most humans find comprehensible.
And if the world became entirely uninhabitable as a result of us, no amount of money could ever fix that. Earth is the only home we have and ever will have. Mother Nature doesn’t discriminate against anyone or anything. You know this, and if you’re not going to do anything about it I can’t make you, but I can ask you this:
If you lost your home tomorrow due to a climate-caused natural disaster, how would that make you feel?
@@co-jt6gd Bro, Japan is the size of California. The USA is like the fourth largest country in the world. How in the hell are bullet trains going to service half the nation? Trains as a mode of transportation in the US died in the early 1900's. This is a an automobile country, not a train country. Trains are too expensive and cost the same as flying. You want trains then either move to Europe or Japan.
1:27 I'm going to start using that as my go-to deflection.

"I GOT KIDS!"
"China, why are you starting nuclear war with us?"

2:06 Why did the red car fully commit to that turn?? If they had just crept out slowly instead, this could have been avoided
3:50 Remember, when you see a rental truck it is almost guaranteed the person driving has no idea what they are doing. Be ready for stupidity.
I also refuse to believe the cam car wasn't found liable. There's no way insurance wouldn't hit you for actively creating a more dangerous situation by swerving.
1:13 the truck driver needs to turn in his license and have his truck impounded permanently

@@Vinemaple 6:30 not saying the cammer is in the wrong but they had about a smooth 15-30 seconds to slow down and allow them to merge. you never know what kind of engine problems people’s car have. I personally drive a shotty 2007 Infinity M35 that has transmission issues and it struggles to speed up once you hit around the 50mph mark and it occasionally sputters while shifting into different gears. WTBS although the cammer had a vehicle to their left so switching lanes didn’t seem possible, the driver with the dash cam definitely could’ve slowed down to allow the red Beetle if not both vehicles merge in front of them. In that situation i am always a defensive driver because a rear end wouldve resulted at him being at fault being as he had more than enough time to slow down even though the beetle didn’t match the flow of traffic, similar situation just happened to my cousin and his insurance company(Allstate) found him at fault bc his dash cam noted he was going 7mph over the speed limit in that situation. Also if Im the person merging I wasn’t gonna stop and move over to the shoulder at that speed risking possibly going off the edge of the highway into such a drop while merging over just because someone refuses to lights lightly tap their brakes to at least stop their acceleration even though they had more than half a minute to do so.

2:25 first braking 2:31 impact
The van driver wasn't driving well, but the cammer certainly wasn't paying attention. Double idiocy
and wasn't keeping a safe distance
yeah, but its clear something was happening in front of the van by the shadows of the cars on the right. cammer just wasnt paying attention
Van drive had brake due to other people braking Infront of them. It is solely the camer being wrong.
not the 5'5 in a jacked up truck lmfao
7:48 those tires and suspension under so much stress rn
This is why you flick the rachet straps and say "that's not going anywhere" 😉 joking of course; that guy's cargo is toast the second he goes under an overpass
I suppose that's one way to give your pickup that cool 'squat' all the kids are raving over.
@2:35 “Yo that car just popped out of nowhere” 😂😂
"stopped" out of nowhere, not "popped"
obviously the cammer was at fault here for failing to stop in time, but the car in front of them was stopped for a silly reason (trying to get over in a weird situation) and I can understand thinking they "stopped out of nowhere" even if they should have accounted for it
@@camelliascholl6564 Dude, they hit their brakes before that too. Cammer should've been going way slower and seen that he had put on his brakes before and was slowing down.
@@thetaekwondoe3887 yeah, to quote a few things I already said in the post you replied to:
"obviously the cammer was at fault here"
"...they should have accounted for [the stopped vehicle]"
the cammer obviously fucked up, it's just that what the passenger said didn't come out of nowhere and has some basis in reality *despite* the fact the cammer was at fault
Yeah I'd say that almost looked like insurance fraud.
blind asses. how you gonna tell me no one in cam vehicle saw those brake lights lol
I can only get halfway through these videos before my blood pressure enters the danger zone.
watchin these makes me realize all these cammers have zero reaction time, and dont scan the road enough, most these are avoidable, lmao
Nobody is perfect all the time. Us viewers have the advantage of knowing that something is coming, they don’t.
We all make mistakes but the cammer at 1:04 seemed to not have any defensive driving abilities. My dad taught me to not get in the blind spot of a car that is looking like it will be changing lanes. Sometimes it seems like cammers don’t drive defensively because they have a camera and assume they won’t be stuck paying anything for an accident but it doesn’t work like that. My mom was hit when in park and the other car was declared 100% at fault but my mom’s insurance cost still went up. Even in the best case scenario you still can end up paying more.
You know whats going to happen because its in this compilation they are just minding their own business not expecting someone with negative iq to jump infront of em
1:35 I have a child in the car (so you want your child to be in an accident with you) I think the person driving the truck was drunk
10:30 -> Why are these people allowed to drive?

4:10 He definitely DID NOT have a good day
2:24 you see the car in the lane to the left hit their brakes, as well as the car in front of then. Then a couple seconds later the white van hits their brakes. Very obviously, traffic is slowing or stopping - yet another 5 seconds go by before cammer seems to react, then hit the van and say “woah! They just stopped out of nowhere!”. No, there were TONS of indications and lots of time to slow the cammer vehicle down had they been paying attention.
7:11 suv changes from right lane to middle lane. Cammer is in their blind spot in left lane. Cammer continues to remain in their blind spot for another 10+ seconds, and then is surprised when suv comes in to their lane. Cammer responds not by hitting the brakes, but rather swerving to the left, staying in their blind spot, and then hitting the horn, before both vehicles hit. Had cammer either sped up or slowed down before to get out of the blind spot OR just hit their brakes when the suv started coming over, there’d be no incident. SUV was in the wrong, but cammer had the view to avoid the whole thing.
In the states, many places have adopted a something called "The last chance doctrine"
This states that if there is a clear chance that you could have avoided an incident, you can be found at fault fully or partially for the incident! So, there is a strong chance that the cammer didn't get off free for their ignorance
Also I was taught to lean forward then glance over to check my blindspots before merging. Why do more ppl not do this? But yea cammer def could have literally tapped their breaks to avoid the whole thing.
For that second clip, the advice I keep hearing is to speak the license number out loud. That way you're not only relying on a dashcam that sometimes doesn't get a number even when it should.
10:20
Do you who I am?!? I can change lanes whenever I want!!! To prove it, I won't use blinkers on a crowded freeway!!!
1:13 Honestly crazy how the truck driver is allowed to continue driving after that encounter. He clearly shows that he has ZERO knowledge of the laws of the road and definitely needs to go back to school or even better, not drive at all.
Didn't you hear him, though? He's got KIDS, bro? Do you know what that means?
It definitely doesn't mean that he's above the law or that he deserves to get places slightly quicker than everyone else, but I think *he* thinks that!

No no! Never swerve! Keeps the insurance companies and body shops in business. /s
They tapped the breaks and chose to let off… looks fishy tbh.
@@kicknate195facts you can see the car jolt as he pressed the brakes then let off and rolled into him, like wtf
8:15 perfect timing for the bike almost being hit during the song!
When did swerving become a legit strategy if the car in front stops?? Isnt the whole point of leaving 2-3 seconds gap to deal with that exact scenario??
The worst part of swerving behavior is that it makes avoiding a crash the problem of the vehicle behind you and they're going to have even less time to respond.
A well-executed swerve will avoid a collision in situations where the brakes never could.
@@singleproppilot the problem is people letting themselves get into situations where the brakes would have a problem with being good enough
follow distance is so that you don't HAVE to swerve
@@perkypears You’re absolutely correct. Yet, my experience is there is no such thing as maintaining a safe following distance in rush hour traffic. If you leave a safe space between yourself and the car in front, someone cuts in there and takes it. Back off to leave that space again, and someone else will cut in there. There’s no winning this battle.
@@singleproppilot yeah I hear ya. super annoying when people see my following space and decide to rush themselves into it. freaks me out to see people behind me doing it while I'm slowing down to a stop light too
10:57 I love how they reacted with humour somehow lmao.
Mass transit and fewer lanes for car traffic would take a lot of these folks off the road.
That’s what I’ve been saying! Besides, it’s better for the country, more economical and better for the planet anyway with today’s electric transit systems!
I'm a huge car person and I'll always shill for public transit. I have fun driving my car but most people don't, and the safer things are the less I'll have to worry about other people. cars are dumb expensive too, I'm happy to drop thousands of dollars on mine to keep it in top shape but the average person either can't afford it or sees the costs as not worth it and people neglect basic safety maintenance because of it
"But my personal freedoms!"
My bad dude, that was me at 8:28
I'm the cammer. It's ok man.
I'm the car. What was my owner thinking?
I’m General McDowell from the civil war, it’s ok bro
Just got my permit, i can't tell you how useful these videos are on what not to do on the road
6:24
although the cammer is correct by stating it is your job as the merger to speed up and match the flow of traffic, you also never know what kind of vehicular problems their car has. Remember you need to drive defensively just as much as you drive offensively, it doesn’t hurt to be courteous on the road.
I drive a shitty and I mean shitty 07 Infinity M35 with 240k plus miles that transmission slips, sputters and occasionally struggles to shift to the next gear around the 50mph mark, I do try to avoid the interstate but that’s not always possible and I refuse to redline the car and do anymore damage bc I don’t have the funds to replace the vehicle or transmission and be car-less because someone that could’ve tapped their brakes didn’t. I personally I wasn’t gonna stop merging over because he definitely had time to slow down.
This is prime example of all that could’ve been avoided had he simply tapped his brakes once or twice @ 6:36 to slow his vehicles acceleration without completely losing all momentum and allows the red beetle to merge after passing that pickup truck. It wasn’t until they continued to merge at first did he brake. Once again, it doesn’t hurt to be courteous on the road..!
Show your parents and other drivers in your family this particular clip, then show them my comment and get back to me what they said. Guarantee they more than likely agree with me.
Side Note and Food For Thought: My cousins was going home, I was in the car with him and his insurance company(AllState) found him at fault in this exact same situation being as his dash cam clocked him at 7mph > the speed limit.
in the words of my driving instructor, "always assume everyone else is going to do something illegal". always keep an eye on anyone around you that seems to be changing lanes/turning, signal or not, stay a safe distance behind people in case they slam the brakes, and try to avoid cruising directly next to someone for too long because they might not look before they try to change into your lane
I've never once gotten into an accident because I keep a mental note of every single car around me and watch out for what they're all doing
also, check your oil frequently. I blew up my first car because all of the oil leaked out and I didn't notice and pushed it hard. you'll feel like an idiot
I hate it when people say "I HAVE KIDS!" Yeah, so what? If you're going to have an accident, you're going to have an accident, regardless of whether you have kids in the back or not.
lmao! "They just wanted to say hi." "Yes, he did." I love their reactions.
White truck guy is sadly more common than you'd think. Some guy cut me off, blocked my way and tried to gaslight me into thinking it was my fault he cut me off. Some people's children...
That’s where I get tired of the gaslighting & call people out on their bullshit!
The beetle trying to merge properly couldn’t get up to speed in time cut him some slack lmao
Having driven a non-Turbo Beetle with a six-speed automatic, the dang thing was probably struggling to accelerate past 35 mph in 4th gear... The transmission programming is all out of whack. You shouldn't have to force upshifts at 1,200-1,400 RPM to get great fuel economy out of those cars!
To be fair, the cammer did. They slowed down and let them merge.
Fellow Patrick, it looks a lot like they were kind enough to let them merge. Traffic isn't a competition, it's about getting to your destination safely.
@@dashcamandy2242 yeah I used to have an old car that didn't have great programming on the transmission. not this bad but it struggled to get speed unless I was in sport mode
really happy to have my modern sports car now which automatically downshifts if I stand on the gas and will wait until redline, going from the first car to the latter car felt like taking off training weights
Why are they going 27mph though?
3:03 literally 2 cars on the entire road and they manage to start driving when one of them's coming at them at speed
3:05 wow, dude literally pulled out at the point of no return, there was no conceivable way to avoid that collision.
1:11. Cammer was 100% wrong here. That dude has kids. Didn’t you hear him? I also have kids and anyone will tell you that when you have kids, you get to take that free right immediately and through traffic must yield. Common sense, really. Cammer must not have kids.

In the red car
Every accident is one too many-staying focused on the road can make all the difference.
8:25 …
Going through the school zone didn’t work… he’s still stupid
6:30 Now I don't know about what's up on the middle & far left lane next to/behind the cammer, but in driving school, I also learned to create space for traffic merging in from the right, so if the middle lane is free next to & behind me, I do myself & the oncoming traffic the favour of averting possible collisions or even stressful situation longs before they can occur & switch lanes myself.
10:18 The driver of the white Jeep was engaged in some serious road rage and aggressive driving.
3:10 That wreck is precisely the reason you do not blindly pull out.
11:01 How does the car that got hit speed backwards at such a high speed?? Did the driver accidentally switch into reverse? Bad electronics? I don't see how that happened.
I'm actually surprised the person lived after seeing the picture of their car.
The front of that car got crumpled up like a piece of tissue paper. I wouldn’t be surprised if that messed with the inner workings of the vehicle too, and made it reverse or something. This is why people shouldn’t just casually buy SUVs & pickup trucks, it’s a miracle the driver of the smaller car didn’t die!
@@gnarled128 The truck and/or SUV had nothing to do with the wreck. The driver driving drunk and running a red light had everything to do with the wreck.
I was thinking the same thing until I saw the pic of the front of the car. The driver survived?! I could see how having the front end crumble in on your leg, and pin it to the gas pedal would happen. Not sure how the car got in to reverse, but again with that amount of damage, anything from trans linkage getting forced to a tcu issue/short, to just about anything between the gear selector and transmission getting damaged. But ideally, a car wouldn’t be designed to allow that to happen when airbags go off. Airbags deploying should trigger a fuel cut, if not an automatic application of the brakes.
@@metalslinger Yes it did. Trucks and SUVs are not designed with the same safety standards in mind as cars to save a quick buck. SUVs and pickup trucks both have beefier bodies than regular cars, and that’s evidenced by how much damage the regular car sustained as opposed to the truck. The driver being drunk and running the red were the cause of the accident - a beefier car body that’s more high off the ground smashing into another car body moreso designed to crumble in a collision at a very high speed caused all that damage. There’s a great video by Not Just Bikes on this topic if you want to learn more.

@@Squanto9 maybe it only applies to large trucks and maybe it’s a courtesy thing, but I think it helps everyone if we actually try to do that

7:00 is literally the equivalent of trying to bring all your groceries into the house in one trip, except instead of being harmless you’re putting others in danger if you drop them
11:35. Another case of the early bird gets the worm ........... and a collision. The second bird doesn't get hit. Let the other car go first, let them explore, let them "win," let them get hit.
Tf are you yapping about bro? They had the green as you can see in the video, don’t try to justify red light runners.
10:04 before making a protected left hand turn across traffic, if you notice a vehicle approaching from the opposite direction and not slowing, don’t cross in front of them. Cammer had the right of way, but cammer saw the van and hit their horn while cutting across the lane. Would have been better to not fully turn until determining the van is actually slowing down.
The mentality of “I was in the right!” leads to many avoidable accidents. The vehicle in the right has the opportunity to avoid the accident, but puts both cars at risk because “their light is green”.
bro really wrote 6 essays on one video
Thank the lord I've only met like 3 drivers like this in my life
4:30
Narrator: He did not, in fact, have a good day.
4:37 is some terrible road design. I don't know if people are supposed to be driving on the tracks at all. If you can drive on the tracks, there's clearly 3 lanes but the sign on the left indicate what only 2 lanes do. I wouldn't blame that car for not checking your mirror when it doesn't look like a car should be there in the first place. If you can drive on those tracks, there needs to be better signage. That's on the city, not the driver IMO.
tracks are probably for streetcars...
you're right about the bad signage though
7:30 Criminal law says he can't change lanes like that. Civil law says you have an obligation to avoid an accident if possible. You didn't. You're liable
Hit and run, but make sure you use them signals. 😂

That's a double fool, for putting so much crap in the truck bed, and for the tires
your 5 foot 5 driving a jacked up truck😂😂😂
Your vehicule tell a lot about who the driver is. The state of it too. That's my most efficent way of staying out of trouble.
The car towards the end got hit so hard it started going in complete reverse😭🤣
4:11 he in fact did not have a good day😂
7:40 well at least they're keeping right......
Ok have a good day too! LOUD ASS CRASH
"I have kids" you didn't have the right of way, though 😭
@8:06 The netherlands!!!! Ayyyy
What would even make someone think turning blindly next to a truck is an option🤯 A semi at that😳
4:25 "OK, have a good day, too." .... BAM!!!!
So many drivers seem to think the rules of the road, red light and basic consideration are just for other people.
"okay, have a good day too! :D"
i dont think he had a good day after that
Reckless drivers caught. Drive safely, avoid accidents.
It’s so annoying when people say I have a body-cam and say the license plate numbers grow up
What do you WANT people to do exactly? Do absolutely fuckin’ nothing? People *need* to take accountability for their shitty driving, else suffer the consequences & accept them like grown fucking adults! It’s like you don’t WANT accountability to exist!
LMAOOOOO GUY INFACT DID NOT HAVE A GOOD DAY
