I honestly didn't realise the old pound coins were considered no longer legal tender though - exactly as you say, I've never had a problem using them so never gave it that thought.
@@TDGalea whitebear attests elsewhere in these comments that they sell for over their face value to collectors nowadays! So if you’re still spending them your shops might be in effect over-charging you!
I wasn't around to remember the Netflix Wii disc, but it must've been weird to insert a disc to access an online streaming service lol. Reminds me of that PS4 error where it thought UA-cam needed a disc
This was during very early streaming, so it didn't really seem that odd that the time lol. I remember thinking that it was just the normal way that you would have to use streaming on the wii. There wasn't really anything interesting on Netflix streaming back then though, so i only realy used it a few times
I remember netflix being on the 3ds, but now its discontinued, I remember watching stuff from Netflix
"SKYWALKER SWORD" ABSOLUTELY KILLED ME
4:53 skywomber sword, my favourite zolda game
Ahh yes, the Legend of Zelda Skywalker sword, hey remember the part when Luke finally upgraded the mastersaber?
When Michael Post a video, you know will be a good day, have a nice day folks
Holy crap. I haven't seen those old pound coins in ages. It's like finding a shilling or to go even further back, a farthing.
The Netflix wii channel sound and launch animation brought back memories
so much to unpack mentally:
- I'd love to get myself a PS2 netflix disc for the collection haha, wanted one for ages
- That Daytona USA disc... big arcade fan, would love this too hahaha
- foreign money... always love exploring europe and always been fascinated by currency
The European currency part was really cool!
I remember back in 2009-2011 having a wii Netflix disc. I would choose the movies on the Netflix website when I was home from college and would watch them while I was at college.
Wow, I remember buying one of those revolutions when they were brand new! (along with the wave keyboard when it came out). Was very expensive! Lasted for years and years before I broke the internal ribbon cable replacing the battery!
I still have it after 12 years last used last year still works but not working as best as before
I didn't know about this! I'm not surprised it existed, but I wasn't aware they did this back then until now. Very informative video!
That Philips Savvy DB at 7:42, WHAT A NUGGET!
This brings back so much nostalgia
You know it’s a good day when Michael posts a video
I remember these Netflix's disc. Where it started all. I even worked for them during college. good times
2:00 internet connection is still required for it to work and you have to have the disk inserted, however on the black Wii and Wii mini won’t read the disk, but if did this on a GameCube compatibility Wii,just use your sd card, this also works on the Wii U
6:26 This is my favorite mouse. I used it for life 15 years until it eventually died and I had to upgrade last year.
i had this disk , oh there also used to be a virtual assistant to help you pick out movies , he would ask you questions then take you to a selection of movies based on your response .
Sonofon and that money is a blast from the past.
Way to make me feel old.
I had one of those old MX mouses, I only stopped using it around 2019 when the battery gave out completely. Was the best mouse I owned, even though the DPI was a bit crappy
Don’t those use regular AA NiMH? (Or was that just the ~2009 (10?) successor?) If so you can put an Enerloop in there.
Note those £1 coins won't work in the UK unless you go to the Royal Mint and get them swapped for new ones, as they've been replaced with ones that are harder to counterfeit.
Hey, I came across something that I picked up a few months ago NiB that I didn't know existed. You know those laser keyboards that lets you type on any surface? Well, I have a mouse version. It's works similar to those keyboards, it turns any surface into a touchpad. You can use your fingers, or a pen. And it does support hand gestures. I thought about sending it to you, but not sure how interested you would be in reviewing something like that.
Philipps savy db is my first phone and I felt nostalgic when I saw that phone on your video. Good old 2001 memories
I remember this. No idea if my dad kept it but I remember us using it all the time until the channel came out
Loved the coins and banknotes! More please haha :-)
Seeing those old £1 coins takes me back to the easier days
too bad they aren't valid anymore
10:55 actually it's more like 2-3 USD as the pound coins are out and date.
A Derek and Michael crossover. I didn't know I needed it, but now I want it. How about Michael starts the next video with "Hey I'm Michael, it's me Michael!"?
In Brazil, they made a Netflix disc for the PS2! You'd need the Ethernet cable, but it worked
I love the part of the coins and bills, love it! 💜
Ah man the old pound coins, I don't miss those lol
Huh, you got the old pound coin design! You can't use them anymore but I think you still can exchange them for the new design, but I'd say keep them like that, it's only £2!
USA Money version cuz I don't know what that is
@@-tylerrodgers- Pounds (£) are the UK currency. Michael found the OLD £1 coin design. £2 is roughly equal to $2.73USD however since its the old design its either worthless, or really valuable because of collectors or something, idk
ooh a video at late night awesome
"Legend of Zelda Skywalker Sword"
-Michal MJD 2021
I had an MX Revolution. The buttons on it did not last. I loved the weighted scroll wheel that spun freely when flicked hard enough though.
Old Pound coins! nice! You'd be out of luck if you arrived here with those. We switched to newer coins that are much harder to forge a few years back now. You could however exchange them at a bank of England for new style coins to then spend. however, I'd probably just hold onto those :)
Damn I remember Netflix on the Wii
Something that Switch players won't experience
I loved having Netflix on the wii and wii u
It's the only way I ever watched Netflix. I don't think I've ever watched Netflix even once since Netflix on the Wii was shut down.
my grandma used to use these when we still had the original Wii. so nostalgic
