I'm forever grateful to the soul that put me on Little Dragon. To this day I haven't met anyone else like her or who even has the same taste and sense of adventure, she really was one of a kind. Hope we meet again someday.

Little Dragon -
A Swedish electronic band, formed in Gothenburg in 1996. It consists of Swedish-Japanese singer Yukimi Nagano (vocals, percussion) and her close high school friends Erik Bodin (drums), Fredrik Källgren Wallin (bass) and Håkan Wirenstrand (keyboards). Little Dragon's first release was the double A-side 7" single "Twice"/"Test", released on the Off the Wall label in 2006. The following year, the band signed with the larger British indie label Peacefrog Records and released their self-titled debut album Little Dragon on 27 August 2007. Their second album, Machine Dreams, was released on 17 August 2009, followed by their third album, Ritual Union, released on 25 July 2011

There is no melody really in this ... just bassline and that the singer. And bits of sounds coming in at perfect points.

@@coolerthanafreezer13 I don't know what this line means to others but for me it hits hard because it reminds me of where I was a long while ago: on the receiving end of a relationship gone toxic. That person gradually destroyed all my self worth until I felt like the ugliest most unlovable human being on the planet. I am still very conscious of all my imperfections because they were all pointed out to me, repeatedly, for years. Others were just lies to manipulate me or to get me down. What saved me from killing myself was that I lived in a house where it was miraculously impossible to hang yourself properly and that I did not want my family or friends or strangers to find me dead. My father has a shed that's excellent for hanging yourself. Good thing I love that man. I guess some people, when you show them real love and loyalty, they think you're desperate. The problem was that my partner stayed with me and indeed made me despair by denying me all forms of affection, by talking me down and through what can only be described as psychological torture. And then there was the public humiliation to top it off. During this whole episode, that took the larger part of six years, I never talked to anyone about what was going on. I had to pretend that I was doing well and that my relationship was doing well in order not to offend ''the one''. At the time I was also convinced the problem was with me and not my partner. But then, through all the suffering, loneliness and desperation, I still loved that woman. I would have done anything for her and in fact I did. That's what this line means to me.
@@coolerthanafreezer13 My own experience, not Op’s, but what I take from it is that once you’re done with a relationship and TRULY have time to reflect (after time apart, spending time with other partners) that you realize this past person is the most compatible you’ve found, but you yourself were at fault for some of the reasons why you aren’t together anymore. For me, it was that I wanted to be alone a lot, because of bottled down issues I was dealing with. That caused me to bring up walls and kept my girl from knowing who I really am, and resulted in her leaving me. If I was a little more selfless, a little bit more open, and little more loving, I could’ve been more receptive to her love and maybe seen the true potential of a relationship that I felt was pointless at the time. All I had to do was be myself, and that’s the easiest thing anyone can do, yet difficult at the same time.
Idk if that’s what the song was trying to portray, but it’s what came to mind immediately upon reading the lyrics. Though, my own experience doesn’t revolve around a potential marriage, and more around a potential love. Maybe I’m flat out wrong, but I’m just giving my own take.
Just an absolutely awesome track - well worth listening to on loop - forever, though I do wish they would make an extended version. Come back every year looking for that, still no sign. Still a pleasure to listen to.
I just want to recognize the trumpet, around the 2 min mark, with the mute (might be a trombone or even a French horn) absolutely makes the song.
