He only wanted another lightsaber as a fine addition to his collection
Poor Sherruk
Grievous always felt like a reference to this guy.
His stolen lightsabers ended up in my collection.
Not this time. And this time, he wont escape.
Grievous: finally a worthy opponent our battle will be legendary
The Jedi council said that the mandalorians hadn’t hurt anyone up until that point, yet, Shiruk has lightsabers from Jedi he had slain. The council really be mousing it🤦🏽♂️
They also lied and made juhani go to the dark side and then didn't want to help her after she done so. Making her think she had killed her master and that she couldn't return back to the order.
The council are utter bafoons
Well that probably meant since they arrived on the planet. After all, he could have gotten those lightsabers from Jedi he killed during the war between the Republic and the Mandalorians.
@@stevencaskey9440 So is the entire Jedi Order.
He could totally be fronting and saying he killed a Jedi when he actually found or bought it. Lightsabers aren't controlled by a quartermaster or tracked on paper like a modern military (though that shouldn't inspire confidence), individual sabers or saber parts can easily slip through the cracks and then be re-assembled/resold by an enterprising merchant.
The kotor council is f*ckin useless , way more than the prequels.
I think this was the first character that made my Revan into a stimulant junkie.
LMFAO😂
My T3-M4 ended up kiting him (as much as you can in that game) one my Revan got KO'd xD
Congratz, for me it already was that Sith pupil in the Base on Taris...
This is when I start over from scoundrel-sentinel to scout-guardian 😁
All the stims, mandalorian melee shield and spamming all of Bastilas force powers onto you.
All these years and it is still my favorite Star Wars game.
A man of taste, I see
Facts
What I wouldn't give to have a third one. So long as EA has no say in its making that is.
I even have a copy on my phone.
@@SubjectSigma24 , Bioware or Obsidian must head that project.
Sheruk's a lot easier if you soften him up a bit first by using Mission to plant a load of mines in front of him before the fight starts.
After the first tims he slaughtered me thats ths only way i fight him
Every time I fight him
He's really easy if you have high wisdom and just hit him with either stasis or whirlwind and flurry attack the fuck out of him. He really wasn't difficult, you just can't go at him with straight attacks
Awesome comment!! I did this too and it worked beautifully 😂 I was low on hp and had no grenades and them mines did the trick 💯
@@iSuperdupaloveweed I went at him after Juhani joined the party, the fight was very one sided in my favor after that.
The Jedi refusing to act while Mandalorians slaughter innocent civilians... I feel like that sounds familiar. You'd think they'd have learned their lesson.
I like this quest. It's like a small example of the Mandalorian War. The Mandalorians are robbing and killing innocents while the Jedi Council refuses to help. As we find out its due to selfish reasons not wanting to face a bigger threat, the Sith. I wish the game had hammered in the parallels more. Maybe have the Council criticize you for killing the Mandalorians?
Totally agree. Very murky moral undertones to explore. It's messed up how I used to think Jedi were paragon of virtue as a kid... now I know better
Oh shoot I never realized that. Great catch
Honestly it’s because of this game and understanding the story more as I grew older that I began to hate Jedi and how they always try to play themselves off as paragons of good when really they only involves themselves in things they find interest in. Simple point: if they really are protectors then why is slavery still a thing?
@@SoaringxDragon because they lack the man power
@@SoaringxDragon well at least Luke's New Jedi Order were paragons of peace. Even Old Jedi lole Bastila, Revan, Meetra, Qui Gon, Obi Wan, Ahsoka and Anakin wanted to actually keep peace and fight evil.
I though the Kath hounds went violent because of Juhani and her dark brooding corrupting the grove
Yes
10:07 "MANDALORIAN BEAST!!!" Still one of my favourite lines from the entire game. The delivery, the animations, everything lined up perfectly for it to be a complete gut buster 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
This is one of the best Star Wars games ever!
Agree
Who else modded KOTOR so they could wear that badass Mandalorian armor?
Isnt the armor in the base game? Albeit way later near the end.
But...you can get it?
@@cjpk1687Yes, but there's only one variant in vanilla, and you can only get it near the end of the game by killing some Mandalorians on Lehon (the Star Forge system). With mods, I think you can get the armour off Sherruk (and even earlier, such as on Taris, on a dead Twi'lek corpse in the Lower City, depending on the mod you use).
@@cjpk1687 I don't remember being able to get this full Mandalorian armor with helmet like Sherruk wears. Most of them are just a cuirass. Either way, with mods you could have Red, Blue, and Gold versions and much earlier, so you had a Mandalorian character.
@@CALISUPERSPORT Yep - I paired it with that "Force Powers for Armors" mod, so I could be pretty OP, especially in the beginning of the game!
I love Canderous Ordo as a case study of a Neutral Evil, Dark Side aligned **hero**. He's a rational, cool headed, loyal and extremely honorable murderer.
KOTOR are the greatest Star Wars stories ever.
Yes yes yes yes
Which is great because it seems Favreau is taking inspiration from it to make The Mandalorian episodes
Weren't the Kath Hounds turned more hostile by Juhani's corruption of the sacred Grove?
Yes, but the quest giver wouldn't have known this.
Great idea Jedi council send amnesiac/reformed Revan to kill mandolorians to jog his memory........
😂😂
Fun fact: Master Nemo is actually the cousin of Ulic Qel Droma. Though how a Jedi Master was killed by something that a padawan had no trouble with really concerns me. Jedi Master rank isn't what it used to be.
Is Nemo ever actually called a Master? He kind of evades the question when you speak with him at the Enclave.
Based on the robes he drops, he was a Knight. But he makes it sound as if it was his choice not to receive the rank of Master.
The way I killed him. I used Mission to stealth just outside the Rock formation and plant as many Mines the game would allow me. I then sat the rest of my team just outside the mine field and used Mission as bait. To lure him to chase her. He would then run through the minefield and be at half health at which my team can easily kill him 1v3 cause the rest of his gang wouldn't walk past the Mines. I'd then go kill his team.
I always love canderous' chip ins. Such a badass
I miss your Star Wars Vids. Especially Vids from Kotor. So much history and you explain it well. Keep these coming! Makes me want to play again!.
Thanks mate! Games amazing
Game LORE Dash it is. And it’s great just to play through it in detail and learn everything all over again.
"Hello. I'm afraid I'm not very good at explaining things. If you have any questions please ask my husband."
- A rare line of writing that dates SWKOTOR
The Star Wars universe is far more old fashioned conservative than our own. And given the fact this game takes place in basically the medieval era of Star Wars it makes total sense.
@@dtxspeaks268 yep and this line in of itself isn't sexist or whatever some people are just bad at explaining things and point others to someone else typically who they have a strong relationship with ie a husband/wife
How
@@Dovah_Slayer It just comes off as super 1950's.
@@LWLProductions Just an observation. Nothing to get upset about. I love KOTOR.
It’s interesting to me that the Jedi council are still underestimating the danger these Mandalorian attacks pose.
I love the foreshadowing of the lightsabers he drops. A blue lightsaber and a… red lightsaber? Don’t dark force users use red lightsabers? Considering what happens to Datooine afterward… I think we can guess where that red lightsaber came from…
I just did this a few days ago. He killed everyone but zaalbar, so I ran away, put mines all over the bridge, and then got him to chase me and blew him up. Then I only had the weak aliens left to kill
I remember him just as the dude with free lightsabers
Never came at me with a lightsaber just a vibroblade
Plant a row of mines and make him follow you through and force heal like crazy
I think Sherruk is one of the strongest opponent of the game because when we arrive on dantooine, we do not have a lot of jedi abilities, streght, wisdom etc to beat such strong opponents, which makes the task way harder, same for fight the albinos kath
Totally makes sense
Great video... now I feel like playing this game again hehe....
YES YOU SHOULD
He's easy if you go darkside and use force lightning on him.
Always pissed me off that he didn’t use a lightsaber in the vanilla version of the game.
It'd be inaccurate to the lore. Only Force Sensitives can wield lightsabers as a lightsaber would be too heavy and dense for a non-Force Sensitive to wield.
@@dtxspeaks268 anyone can use a lightsaber. Force users can just use it to their fullest ability .
@@RB-vs3wd I'm pretty sure it's been stated only force sensitives can lift and wield sabers
@@dtxspeaks268 lmao what no. The lightsaber just has gyro forces that make it potentially dangerous to swing around without hurting yourself. A trained user without the force can use effectively use them.
@@dtxspeaks268 what about General Grievous
15:25 Melee (Mandalorian) Shields won't protect you if he gets in close wielding a lightsaber. That's an energy weapon.
This dude is much more difficult than malak lmao
Been playing this game for over five years, and I'm just now discovering this channel
Welcome!
Didn’t know Bradley Cooper was a playable character in this.
I never have trouble with that mandalorian fight since I level my dueling skills first and get tons of attack and defense.
I typically scrap through Taris at a Lvl. 4 and by the time I become a Jedi I level up to about a Level 6 so I have plenty of feats and powers at my disposal, my favorite to use against Sherruk is Zaalbar and Carth. Zaalbar can keep him busy enough for me to kill his party and then he can be triple teamed.
It's strange hearing Madarah Uchiha begging for help, lol
Ethan Philips is the voice actor for Gar, in case you had a sudden craving for murdering Neelix and didn't know why.
I've been sleeping on this game too long!
Tell ya what, trying to work over Sheruk while dealing with kath hounds alerted to your presence is the most annoying shit. The aforementioned Mission mine laying/Zaalbar waiting on the other side of the field strategy works best but it's that extra step of annoyance when kath hounds run into the mindfield, but two birds one stone I guess. Shouts Sheruk, also shouts to Canderous Ordo, he's handy to have in the Sheruk mission
Just going to say I usually have the mandalorian and bastilla in my party. I have my character in Bastille use lightsaber throw meanwhile mandalorian lobs grenades plasma if present as well as utilizing stealth to deploy mines all around them
When I played this back in the.day, I didn't know you could come back to the planet after leveling up to get more life/Force points and upgraded everything including Party members.
So the first time I faced this guy with Zaalbar and Ordo, what I did was simply throw all plasma grenades I had. If you have a thermal detonator that's a plus since you knock half his life points off while knocking him down and simply go at him at once using melee. (Long sword - Ordo), (Mission's upgraded blade - Zaalbar) and Revan's upgraded prototype sword found aboard the falling Republic ship after waking up
This quest feels like a microcosm of the Mandalorian War. Mandalorians pillage, burn and kill civilian populations, those who resist are made an example of and the Jedi are too reluctant to step in and do something about. Now it ironically falls to the same Jedi Knight who ended the Mandalorian Wars to also end the bloodshed Mandalorian raiders commit on Dantooine.
You explained that so well thank you inspector butters for your service
That's quite a good way to take him down, didn't think of that on my last playthrough of KOTOR1, all I did to beat him on difficult was use grenades to bomb him and his guys and kited him to mines I placed down.
I think that, on harder difficulties the percentile you can stun him is very very slim & your way is the superior method
@@DarkLOREDash yeah I actually noticed that a bit, plus at that point my character wasn't high enough to precisely stun/choke him so I had to improvise a bit since I had quite a few points spent into demolitions.
Not sure about later versions but I remember on the X-Box version that it was possible to cheese this fight by running through the entrance to the Sandral Grounds if your group started hurting, heal up, and go back. Shiruk and his allies wouldn't heal or be revived in between attempts and the loot wouldn't despawn either. Completely broken.
Aww yes i found that too. I also lured kathhounds with me to engage while they talk. The kathhounds would die but take their health down
Sharook was definitely one of the harder fights in the game. I learned to use a crap ton of mine traps that I repeatedly baited him to.
Such a good game.
Lovely game!
"I'm not very good at explaining things - ask my husband" - someone send this to KK, she'll lose her shait.
Why does dash sound so much like karth?
I really miss this game. Definitely in my top 5 of all time.
The general Grievous of KOTOR
The only man in the galaxy…called John 🤣🤣
That carth be looking cursed lol
Am I the only one who has an easy time with Sheruk? I typically have a max level (for the planet) Revan by the time I get to him, and I use maxed out Gear. I don't stun lock or use shields and I beat him effortlessly. I died to him three times ever, once the first time I fought him, once because I had no back up, and once because I wasn't using Revan at the time.
Okay I’m glad I’m not crazy. I’m definitely an XP hound and a min-maxer and Sheruk was never a problem for me.
I had to circle Dantooine 2 or 3 times before finding him, so I may have been a bit overleveled.
No you're not alone, even without being max level, I never had a problem because of a focus on melee combat, makes being a Jedi so much easier
I just went back and fought him before I got the fourth star map. That dude is too tough to kill when you first land on Dantooine
His Lightsabers (And the ones of all those Sith that keep getting sent to kill us) made some fine additions to our collection...
They should bring these games back
Would kill for a remaster
@@DarkLOREDash Or a III edition to Knight of the Old Republic!
Congratulations, it happened.
@@teethreeemfore but a remake not a remaster, I am afraid of a Disneyficated kotor
I think that's the crashed speed at 13:12. It the guard rail
I beat him with Canderus, no mines.
First, before I talked to him, I sat there running back and forth through the areas, killing respawned Kath hounds for a while building up my level as much as possible, focusing on constitution and treat injury, then I started the fight. My Revan and Zaalbar were killed right away, I ran with Canderus (with Davik's war suit) to the field where you meet Juhanni, that field is just big enough to out-run him indefinitely running in a giant oval, now, the trick is to run backwards while in combat mode and hit him with a pot shot and then turn, hit him with a pot shot, turn, pot shot, turn, pot shot, turn, Canderus is a tough bastard with regeneration ability, so as long as you don't get hit too much you won't need to stop for a medpack, I worked him down for a good 15 er so minutes, exhausting on the fingers, PC version
I have it for my phone and the way I beat him was using Bastila and Revan to fight him while I used Canderous to spam grenades and his repeating blaster
@@seventyfourty that's exactly what i did on my most recent play through (phone) worked just fine. by the time i fought him though i already had a really nice lightsaber and a few levels, i was about to enter the temple. it wasn't too bad but if you're underprepared it's definitely a horrible fight
@@cal1791 I was when I first found him so when I respawned I went and bought some grenades and heath packs, my character had a lightsaber but was pretty weak in mele combat because I didn't know how to level up my characters so I went through half the game with very little experience in anything before I finally looked up how to level up
You can also lure the kathounds to them and have them take damage while you exchange dialogue 😂😂
I just started playing the game I'm loving it but this dude ngl he wiped me on my first couple trys I see why he's feared
not me running and hiding behind rocks and throwing grenades at Sherruk in order to defeat him
This is easily one of the best Star Wars games of all time.
look at him frantically searching
This is the monster that shattered my blaster only campaign dreams
Duros are geese 🤣
ha!
lmao, even in Mandalorian terms, Canderous has 0 chill
Great video man hopefully I will run into him when I go to this planet
Thank you, it's a fun side quest!
@@DarkLOREDash Yeah hopefully I won't get killed on the first try. But I probably will😂
@@starlit2135 lol he kills everyone atleast the the first time
Jon looks like the human version of Sonny from iRobot lol
I ran away spamming frag mines
Ethan Phillips voicing Gar - amazing to hear a deep voice Neelix lol
The vanilla game is canon here and the kid, while cool, breaks that. In KOTOR 2 it is plainly stated that non force sensitives cannot weild lightsabers, and if they try they are much more likely to injury or kill themselves than anyone else. It's very reasonable to assume that he likes collecting the trophies from killing them his own way without feeling the need to use his enemies' weapons.
Non force users have used lightsabers countless times it's nothing new
The easiest way to do anything in KOTOR without the force is to spam grenades of different types...
These SW stories are great too, just like the Diablo. I really hope D2R makes you a household name. I am a bit worried at this point about D2 but I will wait to judge till I discover what has happened. If they messed up D2, this may be the game to help me get back into gaming. Thanks!
You sound like CamelWorks. Awesome video man!
God I loved this game
7:12 we all know why it took you an extra second to click on that dialog option
But He wasn’t ready to be kited into 20 mines 🧐👌🏽
I am playing the game on a normal difficulty for the 1st time because I never played it as a kid higher than easy, and this fight was actually surprisingly difficult
Every Mandalorian Gangsta til Revan Came
When u think heavy armor and a lighstaber plus two blaster users and a healer wood save u but he turns u into fukn mince meat
There are difficulty levels? I’ve only ever played on a console, so does this mean I’ve only done it on easy?
Fear then lighting, i fuvked them up.

@@DarkLOREDash No problem! And that's awesome! Thanks for the inspiration to try it out!

Nice
I like your videos man sooo cool!!!! Thx, nice naration
16:52 - ooops excuse me, you filming here
Great video!
thanks mate!
The Switch version fixed it so he does use a lightsaber.
I usually stay on level 2 and get through Taris with my NPCs (which is possible) and then went I choose a Jedi class, obtain more feat/powers. Much easier to do this battle.
hmm . . .I remember normal playthrough using grenade spam to kill him. Grenades to freeze or stun and then continue throwing damage dealing grenades. Using force to stun early game is difficult as it could likely fail as your character is weak in the force.
I'm sure for this game that there's some cut content (and maybe a mod to restore it).
Not going to lie he tore through my team the first, and the second, and five more times.
I use to set up frag mines first before the fight and have him chase me so I can lead him into the mines lol. That fight is frustrating sometimes lol
You don't have to fight Sheruk and his men while you are on Dantooine. You can just go on to the next planet of your choice, get a few more level ups under your belt and then you can go back when you are more powerful.
Dark LORE Dash not questioning the red lightsaber makes me raise an eyebrow.
It does raise the question of how he got it. Mandalorians don't usually accept lightsabers from either Jedi or Sith. There is a possibility that Sherruk wasn't quite as deep in Malak's pockets as the Council first believed. In fact, he likely does not descriminate between Jedi or Sith, and likely killed a Dark Jedi to get that lightsaber before coming to Dantooine.
That's telling from me as I had to add Sherruks lightsaber via a mod. So I think I'd have sub consciously avoided it
How does your character have a beard? I do not recall this face when creating a character
It's a mod.
11:24 That's something that always confused me, why didn't Malak or even Revan attack Dantooine earlier?
The Jedi had many temples throughout the galaxy not just on Dantooine and Coruscant. At least that was how it was during the time of the prequels. It was more likely than not to be the same during this time (old republic) as well.
@@imnotcreative2214 but Karath says that Malak knew it was on Dantooine... and the first Star Map was on the doorstep of the enclave, they might as well have tried to get rid of as many Jedi temples and enclaves as possible and force them to Coruscant.
Great question. I think he was prioritizing targets & the Jedi were pretty much licking their wounds
@@Jedi_Spartan Malak if i remember correctly was not as strategic as Revan. Plus Malak thought Revan was dead at the time and only Revan and Malak who seen the star map. The Jedi made it forbidden for anybody else to go into the ruins.
(spoiler alert do not read further if you have not played and beaten KOTOR)
Not until Revan arrived at Dantooine did the Jedi allow Revan and crew to explore the temple.
