I remember this vividly even though, I was only five years old. The thing that really hits me is the fact they only have simple rope lines holding the crowd back and everyone is having a good time and even though the security is tight by the standard's of 1981. You could still drive down Pennsylvania avenue past the white house, you could walk up to the fence and take a picture through it and touch it. On both the North and South sides of the white house. Plus they still had regular tours that lined up at the gate on east executive avenue which was still a open street between the Whitehouse and treasury building. Then May 20th, 1995. The day news outlets announced that Pennsylvania avenue had been closed off in front of the Whitehouse. Because mainly of the bombing in Oklahoma City a month before. Then September 11th, 2001 happend Pennsylvania avenue closed permentley, tours were now having to be cleared through ones congressional representative. Now 2020. You've have the first time in the history of the presidency and the country what may wind up fiercely contended battle for who's staying and who's leaving 1600 Pennsylvania avenue. Thank You Mr Reagan you sir were a class act and my late father always called you the great communicator.

Carter was bitter that he only got one term but he accepted it and graciously passed the presidency to President Reagan. You mean great hypocrisy and the start of the establishment gone wild. There is NO respect in politics. They spend millions of dollars to destroy and lie about each other. Remember Reagan is the crook that sold arms to terrorists to run an illegal war. The same after Reagan with HW Bush and his idiot son. War criminals and now we have Biden. Enough with establishment politicians.
