This song was ahead of times keeping in mind the violence in karachi colleges, those lethal fights between student unions National college, and others. In one of the fights i saw Jamiat guys had hidden lethal wepaons in Post Office Box. That was great time of life.
Rahul Sircar True man. Wish the record companies and Bollywood music could think about making some good rock music. Instead of shitty Bollywood and phony rap music.
@@mutee333 but im sorry records follow trends in public, if public doesnt want rock than what can a record company do, at the end of the day business of business is actually business.
@@fazzaman3317 Im enjoying it as it is and thank you for uploading. I meant to request people in the comments who may have actual separate tracks for a remix/remaster as a tribute and not to change anything in the music arrangement, because it's perfect. A good mix will be even more enjoyable, without changing anything musically
I'm enjoying the music, but I can't buy the fact that these guys are Pakistan's first rock band. There are at least three decades worth of a folk and pop scene that, while underground, did exist, and you can't just discount it altogether. First mainstream rock band would be more plausible.
There were few underground rock bands at the time but what makes Barbarians commonly referred as Pakistan's very first rock band is the fact that the band was the first one to be a professional one to the point of recording an entire album. Additionally, I wouldn't even classify the band as mainstream cuz their album was sold in limited copies.
@@TayyabKhalil I see, but they were on the Music Channel compilation from 1989, right? Was that album on EMI Pakistan at the time of its release, or was it indie first and then picked up for distribution by them later on?
The Barbarians initially made a name for themselves by winning the Rock vs. Rock show held in Taj Mahal, India, and were awarded a grand prize of 20,000 rupees. They received more exposure afterwards by appearing on Music Channel Charts in 1989. They were soon picked up by EMI Pakistan to release an album (for limited copies) which was released on 18 June 1990.
Tayyab Khalil Could you please share all Barbarian's song with better sound recording? I know the group and the base guitarist in person..they were well ahead of their times and class apart.
I only have this music video and Hum To Jeena Chahen's music video which you can find in my channel. Unfortunately, I don''t have any other material of the Barbarians. As hard as it may seem to believe, I personally know another member of the band and even he doesn't have the Barbarians material. Though he did reveal who has - EMI Pakistan
*"The Barbarians" drove us nuts back then... I had a crush on Jamal!* 😜
*MiSs those days when every single day was an amazing venture in itself!*
Jamal was my favourite. He used to live in gulshan near Akhter eye hospital till he left for UK.
Would you like to shed some light on the amazing ventures of every single day 😮😮🎉🎉

Awesome international level guitar playing by asad ahmed in very young age 😳 level of music in 1988 😳
Pak always ahead of us in case of hindi/urdu rock music. This one is the proof. Guitar player was awesome.
He just released a solo instrumental album a few days ago. "Rebirth" by Asad Ahmed.
Assad Ahmed's body of work speaks for itself.
That is not because India lacks in talent, but because India has strong presence of record companies and they want Bollywood to be their only product.

omg! i dont remember this at all. always loved the karavan's version though. this is awesome!
Sab Ali karavan's version has no solos in it hell not even some good riffs, this was when Assad was young and at his peak.
I wasn't comparing. Just saying i don't remeber like this being on tv because i was too little in the 80s@@saroche

Barbarians two songs were always playing in Univ hostels in 80s. That was a very early time and they kick start the band music scene in pak.

Dont know y im getting the feeling of "when the children cry" of white lions. From late 1980s...
What was the name of lead singer with long hair. Never saw him after that song...?
Hit Like If you want an ORIGINAL REMAKE....same instruments..same musical notes 🎼
There is already a remake done of this song long time ago by a band name Karavaan which was formed by the Guitarist of this band Asad Ahmed.
