as a book reader, the show writers seemed to have combined 3 books into this season. So some stuff may be confusing but the crows: Kaz, Inej, Nina, Wylan, and Jesper are all in character and have their perfect personalities from the books (even thought their show storyline didnt happen in the books)!! Excited for you to see book accurate Kaz Brekker, the deadliest boy in Ketterdam
You're one of my fav Shadow and Bone reaction channels! You pick up on characterizations that others overlook! Can't wait to see your reaction to ep 3 and 4 especially, I think you'll really like those ones!
38:20 One of the reasons the sea whip story was wrapped up in one episode is that this time they adapted two books into one season and not just one book
I did feel like it was wrapped up really quickly in the book too. It happens in the first couple chapters and wasn't given the build up the stag was given
Be patient, you'll learn what Sturmhond's deal is soon enough 😉 The fact that you're torn on whether he's good or bad at this point is a testament to how well Patrick Gibson (the actor) embodied his character imo. From what I can remember that was kind of the impression he gave off in the books when he was first introduced. He and Freddy Carter (Kaz) were the standouts this season for me (although the entire cast did an incredible job across the board). Can't wait to see you react to more 😊
I had the same feeling about the fight scene with Inej. I understand if the actors can't do the choreography that fast, but if they can't it should have a couple of cuts here and there to make it seems faster. However, that was the only fight scene I found it slow, Nina's and Jesper's looked really good.
Jesper and Inej are so damn cool. This season is adapting like... 5 books in one. It's adapting the last two books in the Shadow and Bone trilogy with touches of Six of Crows, Crooked Kingdom, and King of Scars. It's a lot going on but as it goes on I enjoyed it a lot.
Loved this reaction and how you pick up on the more underlying character developments! 🙌🥰✨ (Also, as a small side note, and maybe you already fixed it, but your thumbnail says it’s season 2 episode 1 and I thought I’d let you know. 💛) Thanks again for the reaction, excited for the rest of the season! ☺️🌞✨
Just wanna add up to the informations given being a bookworm -sorry can't help it- but Tolya and Tamar (the brother & sister) are actually TWINS! And Tamar is the oldest. Had to get that out of my chest, and love you're reactions!
Rusalye is the sea whip's name. As Ixie Nova says in the thread they changed it a great deal, I'm guessing for money. Making the amplifier your buddy, like the stag, was a nice show change, but there's budget and ground to cover. As for it's attitude, there are several possibilities. It could have been hungry and/or feeling defensive. After all, it is a predator, and they were coming right into it's layer. With the stag they were already out in the open and let it come to them. Unless they had a lot of fish to lure him out and win him over...lol
Yea, the Sea Whip scene was really underwhelming. In the books the Sea Whip is this massive thing that split a ship in two and required several harpoons to kill. Love this show but that was definitely really disappointing.
“Mal’s name just means Mal”. Since I haven’t read the books or watched ahead, I don’t know if it’s a spoiler or not, but “Mal” definitely means something. I’ll leave it up to you if you want to Google it.
Jesper is a durast so he was able to bend the metal bar. He does have the best fight scenes of the show I think.
brush don't spoil it
@@clauu9370 They say it in the first episode...

The bar ended up bent because Jesper uses his grisha powers to manipulate metal when he fights.
"How dare you take the ugly out this sinful man, keep him bad to the bone" this had me 😂
The nichevo'ya said don't touch my mans 😡

Three legendary creatures, the stag, the sea whip and the firebird.
The fab 5 are the best.😌I did a re-watch with Crows only scenes. Adore them!🥰

I'm having trouble getting into this season, but seeing your takes makes me like it more - thank you for that! You always find the joy.
You like season 1 more than season 2 overall?? And I appreciate the positive feedback!

@@edn So far, yes! But I'm curious if that changes as I keep watching.

@@edn you’re welcome! I make YT videos on a different channel so I’ve been there 😅 and thought I’d help out! Thanks again 🌈☺️✨
I recommend reading six of crows absolute masterpiece of a boook!!! An easy read as well
Go down to the shore and hit up a fish house for a bucket of steamers with some sea-whip to dip 'em in. Yum.
Love your reactions can't wait for u to watch the rest of the season!!
4:43 - Darkling in a nutshell. Boom! Roasted.

I guess they were saving the budget lol, and i theorize perhaps borrowing other parts from other books too.
Are you guys going to get bsck into House of Dragon? Loved those reactions
Yes I will be getting back into that soon!

Can't wait for your next reaction vdeos!
