This is a very common argument for cheating, people say their drunk so it doesn’t count. Incase nobody here understands how being Drunk works please allow me.
Being drunk does not change you in anyway, your personality thoughts and emotions remain the same. What getting drunk does is it removes that little voice in your head that tells you when something is bad or good.
So let’s say you get drunk and cheat on whoever your seeing, that means you always had the thought or considered cheating. But the filter inside your brain tells you that it’s wrong and you shouldn’t do that, but when your drunk that Filter no longer exists.
Getting drunk brings everything hidden too the surface, if people get drunk. Then get emotional? It means there an emotional person but keep it hidden, ya get what I mean?
You drunk, and you sober are the same person. But when you drunk you just don’t care anymore, your brain isn’t gonna process your ability too care. Easiest way too explain it is this.
If you would do something because nobody knew you did it, you would do it while drunk and not give a shit who knows about it.

That's not necessarily true. Alcohol limits your ability to feel shame and your impulse control. The shame is as you describe but your impulses are partly like instincts. There's a reason it's generally considered r*pe to have sex with someone who's really drunk, even if they seem willing. Psychoactive substances affect our hormones and as such you can't say that drunk people are always just more of themselves. Your thoughts and emotions actually aren't the same.
With that said, most people who blame cheating on getting drunk weren't really that intoxicated, or they got drunk specifically to gather the "courage" to cheat. And if you're at risk of cheating when you get black-out drunk, maybe you should take responsibility and not drink so much.

The only scenario I would say cheating is okay is in a toxic relationship, like your partner is toxic and abuses you, if you break up or try to they again will abuse you and be mean to you, so breaking up is not really an option, at that point it would be okay for them to cheat

I genuinely don’t understand cheating like if you’re not attracted to the person that you’re with in anyway or you don’t feel like you’re in a good relationship just break up and then get with the person you want to get with instead of cheating now if you’re married, that’s a different thing it’s even worse if you cheat But you can’t break up without a divorce and that’s a lot of stuff. But I just don’t understand why you would cheat just break up with that person. It’s still gonna hurt the person if you break up with them, but if you cheat on them that is going to hurt them so much more.
My dad cheated on my mom after my brother died, it caused a lot of issues and I remember moving out to go to my grandpas for a while but they figured it out and are still together. My dad has said “what I did was not justifiable but it has been forgiven” when explaining the situation years later

He put my photos on a revenge p*rn website as well with my full name and said I was lucky he didn’t drop my address. I was also told that if I left he would murder me (he was a diagnosed psychopath and schizophrenic so it made me more scared of this). That’s hardly any of it. I didn’t ever sleep with anyone either, it was a person online. I found having a secret emotional relationship at the time was comfort in the storm. I ended up filing a police report on him and last I heard he attempted sewer slide after 🕺 super intense
