Duskfade even sounds like it could be the name of a keyblade
If Square does it right, they could name s Keyblade that, similar to what activision did for the "Mustang & Sally" gun by calling it Meatwagon. Im not a KH fan but I hope Square does that.
Heartslike is an amazing sounding term. I hope this blows up!
it's just an action rpg though, i think we shouldn't try to create sub genres after specific games. i think they do more harm than good, tbh.
@@istandidolsub-genre will create itself when the gameplay stand out compare to the rest and other game take inspiration from it.
I haven't see other ARPG that utilize action menu bar or action deck system like KH does. So with just that, KH already stand out. With enough number, Heart-like is not far-fetched

Not like there’s any actual KH content to be made. The biggest news from the past year was a steam port.

It looks promising for this game. I hope the developers will take more time to distinguish it from Kingdom Hearts.
Instead of Disney they should incorporate the dreamworks universe and characters
While the ones that came latter on were definetly not, KH1 actually really heavy on the 3d platforming side and that is by design.
Since the game was kind of elevator-pitched as a "mario 64 with final fantasy and disney" the 3d platformer footprint was very much present in KH1
From chain of memories onwards it found it's footing and identity as an action RPG with light platforming from time to time.
Please more Duskfade content. This looks so cool
There’s nothing wrong with taking inspiration from something you love and putting your own twist on it, some communities would be hating on this but I think most people here will be looking forward to this.

Honestly looks a bit closer to doubleflight than aerial dodge just based of the animation

I want to give Jared all the credit in the world for expanding his content. He’s felt a bit limited in the content that he can make back then. But now it really feels like he removed a handicap, and the content sort of creates itself! Good work 😊😊

Another game to look out for if you don't already know is Luminous Realms, which is also KH-inspired, and iirc is made by one dude. Def worth checking out their progress, even if that's not your can of beans.

But it makes so much sense Duskfade’s art style is cutesy like a Hat in Time
Tho Duskfade as a self made concept using inspiration but still having it’s own identity is definitely something i can behind and the game looks cool

The worlds look like something storyland-esq, and the weapons look like pens. The enemies look like ink. I think I'm starting to see the theme here.

The aesthetic looks really fun!
This looks really awesome, although as an artist I do feel it's maybe a bit too inspired. The red outfit and yellow shoes are a little on the nose. Sora had this to be similar to mickey but here it makes a bit less sense, the environments are quite nice, the weapon still might be a bit too similar at times, it has a light and dark thing going on like KH with 2 sides of the same weapon. the dark enemies with the yellow glowing eyes also feel like they might be getting a little too close, I just hope a Palworld situation doesn't happen again
I dont understand why they couldnt just take the mechanics and gameplay elements of KH without completely copying the look and feel of the character and enemies. Feels like a stupid rip off and for no reason. People didnt like KH because Sora spreads his legs when he attacks or even because the weapon he uses looks like a key or any of the other 'details' they 'got inspiration from' (copied) as stated in this video. YES they were parts of the game but focusing on copying those details rather than putting effort into what makes the game fun is pretty fucking lame IMO. It makes me assume the devs actually dont know what made KH a good game which leads me to believe this will be garbage.

It's cool, but the question is... WHAT is Heartslike? Like KH1? Like KH2? Like BBS? No damn clue :D
Maybe there are only two weapons that are related to both Light and Darkness and the Main Character has the light sword trying to find the dark sword before it falls into the wrong hands.
Pretty sure I think that refers to Kingdom Key and I think The Gazing Eye unless if the darkness sword like keyblade is a reference to Kingdom Key D

Would be cool if it took the concept of visiting Disney worlds but indie game worlds. Example visiting Shovel Knight’s world and have a weapong inspired in the shovel.

DUDE, HELL YES. That is exactly what I was thinking when I saw this.
I was also thinking that each world can mirror the first KH game's, for example:
Undertale -> Wonderland
Ori & The Blind Forest -> Deep Jungle
Hades -> Olympus Coliseum
Journey -> Agrabah
Hollow Knight -> Monstro
Another Crab's Treasure -> Atlantica
Little Nightmares -> Halloween Town
RiME -> Neverland
Spiritfarer -> 100 Acre Woods
Of course they don't really have to mirror KH in every way, but I really dig the idea of visiting Indie Games as worlds!

Looks nice. I do hope the graphics for the final product isn't painful on my eyes for some unknown reason. (Like Okami. It looks better than a lot of old games graphically but my eyes just hurt playing it.)

If kh fans were like pokemon fans, everyone would be unfairly slamming this game and accusing it of plagiarism
To be fair, pokemon fans get a new official release far more consistently than we as KH fans do, so after being deprived of new KH content to enjoy were just excited to see anything that'll give us a taste of KH goodness. But I do agree, as a huge Pokemon fan as well, I just want a good monster catcher regardless of the title it's under.

I like the idea, the look, the atmosphere, but Im skeptical on deliveries
This is what I was talking about when I said the art style of Stellar Blade didn't sit right with me. It's got two of the most prolific MMO art designers and a team making AAA original assets but it looks like stock Unreal effects and assets. Meanwhile this game is like the opposite, it's just an assemblage of junk that I'm not even sure if it's all original given the team working on it, but the rendering and effects make it look fucking magical.
