Explaining God Eater 3's Rank 1 Gear Challenge

You can tackle most missions with Rank1 Gear, but sometimes you gonna be mindful of the time limits. Also, it helps to have the elemental Engage skills unlocked, and making some Rank3 & Rank5 weapons is good too, just in case.
*The rules are as flexible as the host is strict. Sometimes, guys just wanna play their way and you gotta acquiesce to it even if you think some of the rules or the missions they play are boring. Or leave the room and host your own session, I guess.
I cannot recommend Rank1 Solo, to be honest. It might be good practice for Solo Runs, but it won't prepare you for Rank1 Netplay. Being good at GE3 Solo and being good at GE3 Netplay are 2 different skillsets, primarily because the decision making involved is so different.
The amount of times I've played with people who only play Solo or record runs and ask myself "Why the fuck am I still in Burst 1?" is crazy.
Anyways, this video's script was highly edited to keep the most important information in the video without making it too long. There's a fair bit more than can be spoken about, but I think this should be enough to get anyone started.
To be honest, I really struggled to make this video. This one is pretty much about selling a niche way to play in an already niche game.
As much as I like R1 Play, I find it hard to make it sound appealing to the average player. Especially because I'm under the impression that a fair amount of the playerbase enjoys the God Eater series' rendition of a Power Fantasy.
The other unappealing component depending on your perspective, is that Rank1 Play pretty much strips away almost all of the RPG components from this Action RPG. Which makes it into something that's fairly skill-based and also very close to an Action Game.
Which is kind of ironic because 3's entry into the series kinda already does that.
What's even more ironic is that the Crimson Ashlands missions are basically also Shibari Play. But those and Rank1 might not mix all that well sometimes. Especially if you wanna slap spicy rules on top of what the CA's already offer. Think No Burst Arts + the Ash Anomaly where you can only deal dmg with BA Effects. You might chuckle at the thought of it but I have legit seen someone try to do this.
In any case, I used old stream footage for most of the gameplay here, and that's why the visuals are horrible. Also decided to do minimum editing and just have you listen to what I have to say, all podcast-style.
