    very good. that's very helpfully in machining in XYZA Axises in same time.

    I have thought to buy powermill, but in Internet I have not found much info about it, or info so detailed like in your videos about rotary machining. Deskproto sell books or manuals about the use of the whole software? If so, I am considering to buy it. Thanks for the great videos.

      Hi Luis, We have created two books about DeskProto, that can be downloaded as PDF from our website: a Tutorial book (nine lessons) and a reference manual. The tutorial book also is available in printed form, as "Box with backup CD and printed manual". Happy to hear that you like our videos !

      @@Deskproto it's possible to get support or help at working with rotary machining if occurring problems? Model master 3 axis flat(*. Mmg) extension files is supported by deskproto? Or .Cn files?

      @@LuisLopez-gd9hu In case of any questions you are welcome to email us. Though for the hobby license support is limited: some hobby users expected a complete training in how to use their CNC machine, which for this low price simply is not possible. DeskProto has a postprocessor for Modelmaster, which indeed creates .mmg files. I do not know about the "3-axis flat" though, as that does not seem like rotary machining. About machines that are not listed please read www.deskproto.com/support-tips-tricks/dp-tips-machine-not-listed.php

      @@LuisLopez-gd9hu I do not know this machine, however I do not expect any problems when connecting to a China-made milling machine. Note the difference though between a lathe (cutter does not rotate) and a milling machine. DeskProto is meant for CNC milling machines with a rotation axis, not for lathe machines.

    What EXACT machine do I need to buy to do the carving. I understand this is the software I need to purchase, but I'm looking for a machine, that can do the work hand and hand with the sorftware. Thank you.

    • @Deskproto
      @Deskproto  4 роки тому

      Hi Barney, You can use any CNC milling machine with a fourth axis. Three axis machines move X, Y and Z (translation movements), the fourth axis is a rotation axis that rotates the part (like meat on a spit). DeskProto can work with any brand of machine, see ua-cam.com/video/QZxEA-8iLvg/v-deo.html

    Will it work on square gemotry?

    • @Deskproto
      @Deskproto  2 роки тому

      Yes, this same process will also work for square geometries. Though in case really square it might be more efficient to machine from four sides (indexed machining: XYZ paths from each side, with 90 degree rotations in-between).

      We do not have Aspire so cannot help you out. As far as I know in Aspire rotation axis machining is only possible by wrapping an XYZ design round a cylinder. As you can see DeskProto has a different approach.

      @@AvinashsonawaneArtCam Via a Google search I found that the NK 105G2 is a 3-axis DSP Controller, so I assume that you switch the Y-axis to A. @@Deskproto Thanks, I was trying to find if DeskProto can utilize Y (in this video example) moving simultaneously with A as I need to machine "overhangs" over 90 degrees, but it seems to be a very rare feature in any CAM package (currently using scripts to generate gcode).

    • @Deskproto
      @Deskproto  4 роки тому

      @@jirij Moving all four axes (XYZA) simultaneously is not possible with DeskProto. Still it is possible to deal with undercut areas that cannot be reached without moving the Y. After finishing the rotary machining (XZA) you can rotate to a certain A angle and then use XYZ tooolpaths - for only that area. You can see this in our Nefertiti video: ua-cam.com/video/m8aWk6oTiF0/v-deo.html

      @@ВладиславАлександрыч-х3и You are very right, my apologies. Indeed at that location some of the STL surface cannot be reached by the cutter. The cutter remains at Y=0 (exactly above the rotation axis), and so it simply cannot reach the concave surfaces at that location. This is an undercut area.

      @@ВладиславАлександрыч-х3и This is on our to-do list. However, creating a tutorial video takes a lot of time, and I have no idea when we will be able to do this. What you need to do is use the wizard called "Two or more sides, automatic rotation" and set the number of sides to 4.

    Hi, actually we are the manufacturer of 3,4,5 and multi axis CNC machines, if I send you a STL file of leg can you send me the toolpath for the same. But the condition is toolpath should consists of XYZ & A axis movement as I dont want to simply wrap the model. I have NK105G3 4 Axis controller. Because in you above video there is movement of only 3 axis. If you can do the same then we have lots of business to do ahead as I can directly recommend your software to my clients to purchase. Please revert me back ASAP with contact details

    • @Deskproto
      @Deskproto  4 роки тому

      Hi Raghulila, Rotary toolpaths in DeskProto only use X, Z and A, so they do not move all four axes simultaneously. What you can do is combine rotary toolpaths with XYZ toolpaths, as shown in our Nefertiti video: ua-cam.com/video/m8aWk6oTiF0/v-deo.html. When you want to evaluate DeskProto you can do so using the Free edition of DeskProto: that allows to start each paid edition in trial mode.
